The Effects of u-Learning Systems Characteristics on Perceived Interactivity and Learning Performance (u-Learning 시스템 속성이 지각된 상호작용성 및 학습성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the negative factors affecting personnel u-Learning acceptance and to analyze the interrelation among the factors in this research model. The two independent variables avoidable convenience and reliant convenience, based on pilot test results, and learning performance and perceived interactivity, based on the relevant literature, are used to examine the research model. The research problem was tested with data collected from 577 respondents in 23 universities. This study developed and empirically analyzed a model representing the relationship by using the Structural Equation Model. The major findings of this study are, firstly, that the higher reliant convenience is negatively affecting the degree of system use and learner’s satisfaction, whereas avoidable convenience is only affecting the learner’s satisfaction. Secondly, the higher learning performance and stronger perceived interactivity affects the degree of system use as well as learner’s satisfaction. Finally, the degree of system use affects the learner’s satisfaction.

  • U-learning stresses the ubiquitous networking environment where different sizes of U-devices, let alone the dominant PCs, comprise a background infrastructure to enhance knowledge and performance. This paper suggests a U-learning system that will provide an alternative for the hectic private lessons, particularly English training among grade-school students. Several points are suggested of the U-system to be a cost-effective alternative. Besides the corresponding advancement of U-networking, the production of a profitable business model harnessing the emerging technology is most urgent. The Government authorities should recognize the potential U-social system solutions, and take an initiative to develop them. The latest technology seems to throw a light to the upcoming social systems applied in various fields of social needs.

  • 정보통신 기술의 변화는 방송 통신망의 융합, 브로드 밴드 네트워킹, 스마트 디바이스의 다양화, 멀티미디어 기술의 고도화로 요약된다. 이 모든 기술이 종합적인 작용으로 유비쿼터스 사회의 기반으로 진행하고 있다. 그래서 기존 인터넷기반 시스템과는 다른 차세대 온라인교육시스템이 본격 개발되고 있다. 새로운 기술기반의 온라인 교육시스템은 각종 국제표준단체에서 표준안이 제시하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 기술을 반영한 SCORM기반 u-Learning에 관하여 연구하였다.

This study is based u-smart tourist information systems for mobile learning content design. This is the pattern of things in the template library for things to increase the effectiveness of the learning content to mobile learning content to be converted to a. Design of mobile learning content using u-smart things smart phone app (App) and XMI to go through the design process of utilizing the heat. Future through the design process by implementing a mobile learning content to meet information quality tourist information content to create mobile learning content and learning things that can be content to live it up advantage.

  • This paper presents the concepts of ubiquitous computing technology to construct a ubiquitous learning environment that enables learning to take place anywhere at any time. This ubiquitous learning environment is described as an environment that supports students' learning using digital media in geographically distributed environments. The u-learning model is a web-based e-learning system that could enable learners to acquire knowledge and skills through interaction between them and the ubiquitous learning environment. Students are allowed to be in an environment of their interest. The communication between devices and the embedded computers in the environment allows learner to learn while they are moving, hence, attaching them to their learning environment.

  • This paper presents a model of ubiquitous learning environment system based on the concepts of ubiquitous computing technology that enables learning to take place anywhere at anytime. This ubiquitous learning environment is described as an environment-friendly learning scheme that supports students' learning using digital media in geographically distributed environments. The u-learning model is a web-based e-learning system that could enable learners to acquire knowledge and skills through interaction between them and the ubiquitous learning environment. Education is happening all around the student but the student may not even be conscious of the learning process. Source data is present in the embedded objects and students do not have to do anything in order to learn. The communication between devices and the embedded computers in the environment allows learners to learn in an environment of their interest while they are moving, hence, attaching them to their learning environment.

  • In the near future, we can access information which we want, whenever we want, wherever we use. Because almost devices in ubiquitous environment are connected by either wired or wireless network. Especially, u-Learning emphasizing on pedagogical property is enable to improve learning abilities. As researches of the previous u-Learning. there have been learning by mobile devices such like PDAs as well as the smart classroom, which makes the remote students participate in the existing class. However, these researches have not satisfied pedagogical, cooperative and ubiquitous properties yet. Thus we suggest the framework for both local and mobile classroom, which can make the properties easy to satisfy.

  • u-러닝(u-learning) 체제의 도입은, 다양한 형태의 원격교육을 지원하기 위한 교수-학습 시스템 및 모형을 요구하며, 이에 따라 유무선 인터넷을 이용한 u-러닝 시스템이 지속적으로 개발 적용되어 왔다. 하지만, 현재 운영되고 있는 대부분의 원격교육시스템은 교수자와 학습자간의 지속적인 쌍방향 상호작용 유지의 어려움, 시스템 구축을 위한 경제적 부담, 시스템 운영에 투입되는 교수자의 기술적 소양 부족 등의 문제점을 안고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 다음 항목에 대한 제고가 필요하다. 첫째, 효율적인 쌍방향 상호작용은 학습자 행동에 대한 지속적인 모니터링 및 피드백, 그리고 교수자의 상시 접속 상태 유지를 전제로 한다. 이는 사이버 교사(cyber tutor)를 이용하는 지능형 학습에 대한 논의로 이어진다. 둘째, 구현될 시스템은 경제성과 재사용성 측면이 고려되어야 하며, 이는 기존의 학교 현장의 인프라를 활용하는 u-러닝 개념의 학습 환경, 즉 이동성 네트워크 구조에 대한 설계가 요구된다. 셋째, 시스템의 직접적인 운영 주체인 일선 교사들의 기술적 소양을 고려할 때, 시스템 구축 및 사용상의 편리성, 학습 진행을 위한 보조적 지원 장치 등이 충분히 전제되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는, 이동성과 내재성의 u-러닝 개념을 포함하고, 지능형 가상 교수자(cyber tutor)에 의한 블랜디드 학습(blended learning)을 도입하며, 사용자의 기술적, 경제적 부담의 제거가 가능한 지능형 u-러닝시스템을 개발하였다. 본 연구에 의해 개발된 시스템은 기존의 네트워크 인프라와 u-러닝의 개념을 통합하는 네트워크 구조, 원격학습을 지원하는 네트워크 화이트보드, 학습 과정의 저장과 해석을 지원하는 스크립트 인터프리터, 학습자 반응에 대한 피드백을 자동 제공할 수 있는 지능형 인터프리터로 구성되었다.

  • This research aims to compare the features and environments for media acceptance of tablet against laptop computer in the u-Learning environment. While it is need to accept suitable media for u-Learning learner, most of existing research has focused on finding factors which can affect perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on extended technology acceptance model and how to fulfill those factors. Thus this research drew four categories need to use media in the u-Learning environment, then adopts Kano's model and IPA methodology. The results by Kano's model identify exciting and basic attributes which do not match overall satisfaction of learners. Moreover the research analyses by IPA methodology illustrate whether the factors considered important by learners are fulfilled. The research also emphasis the significance of enhancing relative importance as well as satisfaction of the properties for media acceptance in the u-Learning environment.

  • In this paper, we propose u-Learning management systems which are designed and implemented based on learning activities oriented components. The proposed systems are composed of components which can process the functionalities for coming into actions of learning activities. Specially, each component is broken into class units by which learning activities of users can be performed on various devices. When users by to connect the proposed learning management system, the system explores devices of users and the corresponding connection program, and then selects components that are fitted to the activities and combines them in a real-time. Our system provides u-Learning environment so that users can use the learning activity services taking no influence on time, place, various devices and programs. That is different from traditional e-Learning system which cannot support various devices of users directly.
