Previous studies have shown that kimchi and kimchi-derived 3-(4'-hydroxyl-3', 5'-dimethoxyphenyl) propionic acid have anti-oxidative and hypolipidemic effects in rats and rabbits. This study was designed to investigate whether chemically synthesized 3-(4'-hydroxyl-3', 5' -dimethoxyphenyl) propionic acid (HDMPPA) may ameliorate oxidative stress through the regulation of nuclear factor KB (NFkB) activation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cells. Treatment of RAW 264.7 cells with 400 uM of HDMPPA significantly reduced LPS-stimulated nitric oxide (NO) production. Treatments with HDMPPA at 100 uM to 400 uM concentrations significantly elevated glutathione (GSH) level. However, cell viability and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) concentrations were not affected by the concentrations of HDMPPA used. The specific DNA binding activities of NFKB, a transcription factor which is sensitive to oxidative stress, were not down-regulated by HDMPPA treatments. These results suggest that HDMPPA may have weak anti-oxidative activity against LPS challenge by scavenging NO and stimulating GSH production.
Leiomyomas, which are the commonest pelvic tumors in women, are originated from myometrial cells. Although the exact initial pathophysiologic event of the leiomyoma is not known, recent evidences suggested that the effects of sex steroid hormones in the process of tumor growth are mediated by local production of growth factors including epidermal growth factor (EGF), insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) and insulin-like growth factor-II (IGF-II). If we look at the effects of other cytokines, it was suggested that basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) may stimulate the proliferation of myometrial and leiomyomas cells. And it was reported that interferon-${\alpha}$ inhibit the action of bFGF. Therefore, we examined the effect of bFGF and interferon-${\alpha}$ on the proliferation of leiomyoma and myometrial cells. bFGF stimulated the myometrial and leiomyoma cells significantly at the concentration of 1ng/ml (p<0.05) and 5ng/ml (p<0.05). However, Interferon-${\alpha}$ inhibited the cell proliferation of myometrial and leiomyoma cells significantly at the concentration of 100U/ml (p<0.05) and 1000U/ml (p<0.05). And the stimulated effects of bFGF with the various concentration on the myometrial and leiomyoma cells ware inhibited by interferon-${\alpha}$ with 100U/ml. Therefore, we concluded that bFGF may stimulate the myometrial and leiomyoma cell proliferation and interferon-${\alpha}$ may inhibit the myometrial and leiomyoma cell proliferation through blocking the effect of basic fibroblast growth factor.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of consumers' shopping value(SV), ease of use(EOU), and usefulness(U) on their purchase intention(PI) in mobile shopping mall. Path hypotheses in structural equation model which was constructed for this purpose were verified. In addition, the research model was analyzed according to the groups classified by the level of purchase experience in mobile shopping mall. The survey was limited to the respondents in their 20s and 30s living in Seoul and other metropolitan areas who had purchased fashion products in mobile shopping mall. 411 useful data collected from on-line survey were analyzed by descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and pearson's correlation analysis using SPSS 21 and AMOS 19. The results of verifying the hypotheses were as follows: First, SV was composed of two factors which included hedonic shopping value(HSV) and utilitarian shopping value(USV). Second, the research model was verified as an acceptable model in explaining the influence of consumers' SV, EOU, and U on PI. Third, seven hypotheses among nine hypotheses were accepted in high purchasers. HSV did not have a significant influence on PI, and EOU did not affect PI significantly. Fourth, five hypotheses were accepted in light purchasers. HSV affected U significantly while USV had a significant impact on EOU and PI. EOU affected U, and U affected PI significantly. In conclusion, USV was proven to be the factor affecting PI directly as well as indirectly. Eou and U also had a significant influnce on PI in mobile fashion shopping. These results will provide mobile marketers with the differentiated strategies to make consumers lead to mobile purchase.
A study on friction welding of carbon steel bar (SM45C) to chrome molybedenum steel bar(SCM4) is examined experimentally through tensile test, hardness test, microstructure test and fatigue test. so, this paper deals with optimizing the welding concitions and analyzing various mechanical properties about friction welds of SM45C to SCM4 steel bars. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1) For friction welded joints of SM45C to SCM4 steel bars, the total upset(U)increases linearly with an increase of heating time ($t_{1}$) till 6s. 2) The determined optimum welding conditions are heating time ($t_{1}$)2s, upsetting time($t_{2}$), 3s, heating pressure($p_{1}$), 4kgf/$mm^{2}$(39.2MPa), upsetting pressure($p_{2}$, 8kgf/mm$^{2}$(78.4MPa) and rotating speed(N), 2, 000rpm when the total upset(U) is 3.4mm, resulting in a computed relationship between the joint tensile strength .sigma.$_{t}$ (kgf/mm$^{2}$and the total upset U(mm); .sigma.$_{t}$ =$0.21U^{3}$ - $3.38U^{2}$ +17.03U + 66.00 3) As the elongation is increased more and more, the fracture position becomes away from weld interface and the fractures are similar to those of SM45C. Fracture is taken place on SM45C side. 4) The weld interface of two dissimilar materials is mixed strongly, and the heat affected zone is about 2.0mm at SM45C while about 2.7 mm at SCM4 side. Therefore, the welded zone and heat affected zone are very narrow, comparing with those of the joints welded by the other welding methods. 5) The fatigue strengths at N=10$^{6}$ cycles of SM45C, SCM4 and friction welded joints are 23kgf/$mm^{2}$, 33kgf/$mm^{2}$(220.5 MPa), and 22.5kgf/$mm^{2}$(220.5MPa) respectively, and fracture at friction welded joint takes place at the side of SM45C. 6) The hardness of the friction weld interface is 3 times higher than that of base metal. 7) Fatigue strength of friction welded joint is higher than that of base metal. 8) Notch sensitivity factor of friction welded joint is lower than that of base metal.
The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics of bearing capacity of shallow foundation on the grounds. We made a comparative study of existing bearing capacity theory, based on the three-dimensional finite element analysis with a variety of conditions such as ground condition, foundation scale and foundation shape. In the finite element analysis, the ultimate bearing capacity showed a gradual convergence in the form of exponential function or logarithm function according to the foundation scale. Although the shear strength increased, the bearing capacity tended not to increase but change linearly. In the results of comparative study of existing bearing capacity theory, bearing capacity ratio ($q_{u(FEA)}/q_{u(theory)}$) of pure sand has the outcome closest to those of the Terzaghi method. Pure clay turned out to be about 0.4~0.6 while normal soil was changed in a range of 0.3~1.3. As shear strength is increased, the results turned out to be less than 1.0. Bearing capacity ratio ($q_u/q_{u(1.0)}$), normalized at 1.0m bearing capacity, was about 35%, 15% and 5% of theoretical formula under the condition of ${\phi}=25^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $35^{\circ}$ of pure sand; no scale effect was found with pure clay and the normal soil with lower soil strength level showed less than 10% of the theoretical formula of pure sand. Bearing capacity ratio of each case, in accordance with, the shear strength increase, was largely influenced by the internal friction angle. Shape factor of bearing capacity ratios classified by foundation shapes have different results according to the shapes; the shape factor of circular foundation is 1.50, square foundation is 1.30, rectangular and continuous foundations are 1.1~1.0.

In this pacer, it is examined and confirmed that the R factor which is compensated after analyzing the characteristics of superconductor resulted from this experimented theory with the computer simulation, is refined to R$\sub$WP/=8.83[%], R$\sub$P/=6.47[%], R$\sub$I/=10.08[%], RF=7.19[%], R/eub E/=3.76(%), and on the basis of these experimental data, the significant parameter such as the scale factor(s) and the zero point shift(Z) and FWHM value(U,V,W) are optimized as follows; S =72.0827E-3, Z=0.2146, U=4.2761E-2, V=1.7983E-2, and W=2.6768E-2
In this research, we investigated the burnup characteristics and the conversion of fertile $^{232}Th$ into fissile $^{233}U$ in the core of a Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor (SFR). The SFR fuel assemblies were designed for burning $^{232}Th$ fuel (fuel pin 1) and $^{233}U$ fuel (fuel pin 2) and include mixed minor actinide compositions. Monte Carlo simulations were performed using Serpent Code1.1.19 to compare with CRAM (Chebyshev Rational Approximation Method) and TTA (Transmutation Trajectory Analysis) method in the burnup calculation mode. The total heating power generated in the system was assumed to be 2000 MWth. During the reactor operation period of 600 days, the effective multiplication factor (keff) was between 0.964 and 0.954 and peaking factor is 1.88867.

An experimental study was performed to investigate the turbulence intermittency measuring methods across the boundary layer in the transition region. A single type hot-wire probe was used to measure instantaneous streamwise velocities in laminar, transitional and turbulent boundary layer To estimate wall shear stresses on the flat plate, near wall mean velocities are applied to the principle of CPM. Distribution of intermittency factor is obtained by dual-slope method and compared to the results of four methods,$\'{u},\;\{U}$, TERA and M-TERA method. In these methods, M-TERA shows a good agreement in the near wall region. However, the result of M-TERA method shows that intermittency factor is underestimated in the outer part and outside of the boundary layer and the dimensional constant of M-TERA method should be changed appropriately depending on measuring point.

Kikukawa-Compliance method using a conventional clip-on gauge was employed to investigate fatigue crack growth and crack closure in 2017-T3 aluminum alloy. The crack growth rate plot against stress intensity range .DELTA.K on a log-log diagram exhibits a bilinear form with a transition at the growth rate of 10$\^$-4/ mm/cycle. The bilinear form appears still in the plot of growth rate versus effective stress intensity range .DELTA.K$\_$eff/. Fatigue crack growth rate could be well represented by .DELTA.K$\_$eff. The experimental results indicate that the effective stress intensity range ratio U depends on the maximum stress intensity factor K$\_$max/, but the stress ratio R does not affect U. The crack opening stress intensity factor K$\_$op/ tends to increase with increasing K$\_$max/ and decrease with increasing .DELTA.K.
