  • The Spatial Image contents of Geomorphology 3-D environment is focused by the requirement and importance in the fields such as, national land development plan, telecommunication facility management, railway construction, general construction engineering, Ubiquitous city development, safety and disaster prevention engineering. The currently used DEM system using contour lines, which embodies geographic information based on the 2-D digital maps and facility information has limitation in implementation in reproducing the 3-D spatial city. Moreover, this method often neglects the altitude of the rail way infrastructure which has narrow width and long length. This As the results, We confirmed the solutions of varieties application for railway facilities management using 3-D spatial image contents and database design. Also, I suggested that U-city using topographical modeling about matching methods of high density elevation value using 3-D aerial photo with laser data are best approach for detail stereo modeling and simulation.

  • This study ultimately aims to suggest directions for development of U-City Competitiveness Index through thorough analyses of U-City competitiveness concepts and previous research in U-City-related index. In an attempt to reach the aforementioned goals, the concept of U-City competitiveness is presented based on existing publications on informatization age, future city, and U-City. Next, insights on the development of U-City Competitiveness Index are provided via analysis of research on indices regarding U-City and future city. Finally, the process of developing UCity Competitiveness Index and cautionary comments for each developmental step has been provided. Based on the research results, U-City competitiveness refers to the ability to respond to demands of residents in a timely manner as well as to manage U-City, ICT, U-City infrastructure, and U-City services that maximizes the efficiency of urban space management. In order for proper assessment of these criteria, development of assessment tools, selection of indices, standardization, allocation of weight per index, and construction of assessment framework are required.

  • In this study, U-City to effectively manage information as a basis for studies of U-City Info characteristics were analyzed. U-City services are currently being discussed which is about 228. Short-term possibility of applying these services, the service's practicality and availability of services based on public services analyzed, 39 were selected. Next, the selected U-City to target services to analyze the flow of information and analysis based on the characteristics of U-City information was derived. U-City information derived from this study, the characteristics of real-time information, and service-specific mandatory and optional information, melting complex information, dynamic information, large amounts of data, user-customized information, and information security vulnerabilities, revealing personal information and privacy is. The results of this study, governments and municipalities to promote the construction of the U-City can be used effectively. To do so, considering the characteristics of U-City information, information management standards should be established.

  • Needs of automation and computerization in the construction industry has been recognized but the implementation of e-business solutions with project management systems has not been fully explored. In order to cope with different management practices in home office and project sites, integration of two popular systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Project Management System (PMS) is essential. The objective of this study is to find ways to functionally and systematically integrate ERP and PMS. With the integration of ERP and PMS, a project will be managed much more efficiently and effectively. It is expected that this study will benefit system integrators and help them to understand construction management processes and integrate the solutions with minimized programming work.

  • In the United States, the completion of Construction Work Zone (CWZ) impact assessments for all federally-funded highway infrastructure improvement projects is mandated, yet it is regarded as a daunting task for state transportation agencies, due to a lack of standardized analytical methods for developing sounder Transportation Management Plans (TMPs). To circumvent these issues, this study aims to create a spatiotemporal modeling framework, dubbed "SWAT" (Spatiotemporal Work zone Assessment for TMPs). This study drew a total of 43,795 traffic sensor reading data collected from heavily trafficked highways in U.S. metropolitan areas. A multilevel-cluster-driven analysis characterized traffic patterns, while being verified using a measurement system analysis. An artificial neural networks model was created to predict potential 24/7 traffic demand automatically, and its predictive power was statistically validated. It is proposed that the predicted traffic patterns will be then incorporated into a what-if scenario analysis that evaluates the impact of numerous alternative construction plans. This study will yield a breakthrough in automating CWZ impact assessments with the first view of a systematic estimation method.
