Establishment of DeCART/MIG stochastic sampling code system and Application to UAM and BEAVRS benchmarks

  • In this study, a DeCART/MIG uncertainty quantification (UQ) analysis code system with a multicorrelated cross section stochastic sampling (S.S.) module was established and verified through the UAM (Uncertainty Analysis in Modeling) and the BEAVRS (Benchmark for Evaluation And Validation of Reactor Simulations) benchmark calculations. For the S.S. calculations, a sample of 500 DeCART multigroup cross section sets for two major actinides, i.e., 235U and 238U, were generated by the MIG code and covariance data from the ENDF/B-VII.1 evaluated nuclear data library. In the three pin problems (i.e. TMI-1, PB2, and Koz-6) from the UAM benchmark, the uncertainties in kinf by the DeCART/MIG S.S. calculations agreed very well with the sensitivity and uncertainty (S/U) perturbation results by DeCART/MUSAD and the S/U direct subtraction (S/U-DS) results by the DeCART/MIG. From these results, it was concluded that the multi-group cross section sampling module of the MIG code works correctly and accurately. In the BEAVRS whole benchmark problems, the uncertainties in the control rod bank worth, isothermal temperature coefficient, power distribution, and critical boron concentration due to cross section uncertainties were calculated by the DeCART/MIG code system. Overall, the uncertainties in these design parameters were less than the general design review criteria of a typical pressurized water reactor start-up case. This newly-developed DeCART/MIG UQ analysis code system by the S.S. method can be widely utilized as uncertainty analysis and margin estimation tools for developing and designing new advanced nuclear reactors.

  • Recently, retail store automation appliance market is changed with traditional POS systems techniques and RFID, radio POS system, and self checkout system, etc. in the foreign advanced distribution industry. Retailers and consumers require convenient POS system which can provide more functions and fast service. These requests bring to rapid evolution of various H/W and S/W corresponding with POS system. In this study with the POS systems and the RFID technology we develop core technology of movable u-POS system based on RFID that can use in large store. So we propose u-Cart system that can alternate the current shopping cart and POS terminal and that provide value added services to customer. As the result we present the configuration of u-Cart terminal device(WMDT : Wireless Mobile Data Terminal) including RFID reader module that can provide various information to consumer and some convenient client applications that are running in WMDT and u-POS administration service module.

  • 본 연구는 최근 물류 활동 전반에 걸쳐 무선주파수를 이용해 상품과 사물에 내장된 정보를 읽어내는 기술인 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) 응용기술과 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 POS(POS : point of sales) 시스템의 발전 형태를 예측하여, 향후 국내 외 대형 할인점에서 적용할 수 있는 RFID 기반의 이동형 u-POS 시스템의 핵심기술개발에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구는 RFID 기반의 이동형 u-POS 시스템의 핵심기술을 크게 H/W와 S/W로 구분하여 H/W 측면으로는 기존의 쇼핑 Cart를 대체 할 수 있는 u-Cart 개발을 목표로 하고, S/W 측면으로는 기존의 POS 시스템과 연동 할 수 있는 u-Cart의 클라이언트 어플리케이션과 매장관리 서비스 모듈의 개발을 목표로 한 내용에 대하여 발표하고자 한다.

The predictability of dentoskeletal factors for soft-tissue chin strain during lip closure

  • Objective: To investigate the dentoskeletal factors which may predict soft-tissue chin strain during lip closure. Methods: The pretreatment frontal and lateral facial photographs and lateral cephalograms of 209 women (aged 18-30 years) with Angle's Class I or II malocclusion were examined. The subjects were categorized by three examiners into the no-strain and strain groups according to the soft-tissue chin tension or deformation during lip closure. Relationships of the cephalometric measurements with the group classification were analyzed by logistic regression analysis, and a classification and regression tree (CART) model was used to define the predictive variables for the group classification. Results: The lower the value of the overbite depth indicator (ODI) and the higher the values of upper incisor to Nasion-Pogonion (U1-NPog, mm), overjet, and upper incisor to upper lip (U1-upper lip, mm), the more likely was the subject to be classified into the strain group. The CART showed that U1-NPog was the most prominent predictor of soft-tissue chin strain (cut-off value of 14.2 mm), followed by overjet. Conclusions: To minimize strain of the soft-tissue chin, orthodontic treatment should be oriented toward increasing the ODI value while decreasing the U1-NPog, overjet, and U1 upper lip values.

층화에서 최적경계점 결정에 관한 연구

  • 층화 추출법에서 층의 경계점을 정하는 문제는 추정의 효율에 직접적으로 영향을 미치기 때문에 매우 실제적이고 중요한 문제이다. 층화변수가 일변량 연속변수인 경우 널리 알려진 방법으로는 누적도수제곱근법과 Ekman법이 있는데 이 두 방법은 모두 나름의 약점을 지니고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Breiman 등(1984)이 제시한 CART 기법 중 회귀나무(regression tree)모형을 이용하여 층의 경계점을 정하는 방법을 소개한다. 그리고 통계청의 어업총조사 자료를 사용하여 층의 경계점을 정하는 여러 다른 방법들의 효율을 비교한다.

Achievements of Nursing Students among Simulation and Traditional Education of Bleeding Patients (출혈환자 간호 시뮬레이션 실습에 따른 간호학생의 학업성취)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify in nursing students the effects of simulation practice for hemorrhagic patients. Methods: Subjects were sophomore nursing students in Daegu (n=133). A self describing performance questionnaire which included knowledge, skill and attitude towards bleeding patients was given. Consent was received from students. The data was analyzed by ANOVA with Scheffe's test and Mann-Whitney U test using the SPSS 12.0 Program. Result: Subjective and objective knowledge and skill showed significant improvement in the control group, especially in assessment, correct medication administration, explaination of NPO and preparing the crash cart for a cardiac arrest. Objective knowledge and skill was significantly higher in the control group although attitude was not. Conclusion: Simulation practice was an effective education method for improving knowledge, skill and attitude in nursing students.

An Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding-Mode Control for Decoupled Nonlinear Systems (분리된 비선형 시스템의 적응 퍼지 슬라이딩모드 제어)

  • We proposed a decoupled adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control scheme for a class of fourth-order nonlinear systems. The system is decoupled into two second-order systems such that each subsystem has a separate control target expressed in terms of sliding surface. For these sliding surfaces, we define main and sub target conditions. and, we made intermediate variables which are interconnected both surface conditions from the sub target sliding surface. Then, Two sets of fuzzy rule bases are utilized to represent the equivalent control input with unknown system functions of the main target sliding surface including intermediate variables. The membership functions of the THEN-part, which is used to construct a suitable equivalent control of sliding-mode control, are changed according to the adaptive law. With such a design scheme, we not only maintain the distribution of membership functions over state space but also reduce the computing time considerably. We apply the decoupled adaptive sliding-mode control to a nonlinear Cart-Pole system and confirms the validity of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper, we discuss design and implementation of intelligent retail store management system through the application of RFID technology to effectively manage retail stores. Firstly, we defined functionality required for system development, designed the system structure, and proposed the service control procedures. Secondly, we implemented the designed system, and then conducted related tests to verify functionality and performance of the system. As a result, we confirmed through functional tests including 129 items that everything was normal behavior, and were able to determine the performance through testing of RFID middleware, RFID readers and tags.

  • In this paper we propose a design procedure of loop-shaping two-degree-of-freedom H$\infty$ digital controller for sampled-data system. We extend the continuous time loop-shaping two-degree-of-freedom H$\infty$ control problem to sampled-data system. The configuration of generalized plant is modified for sampled-data system. And then using continuous lifting we obtain the digital controller. In the final stage of loop-shaping procedure the problem of absorbing weighting functions is discussed. We summarize this study to the design procedure and illustrate the application for an inverted pendulum on the cart.

  • 최근 가뭄 모니터링을 위해 과거에 비하여 고해상도의, 물리적으로 기반을 두는 정보가 요구되고 있다. 기존에 주로 활용하고 있는 통계적 방법론 기반의 가뭄지수들은 지니고 있는 한계에 대해 여러 개선과정을 거치고 있으나, 기상변수로부터 지표상의 식생 관련 변수로의 전파 과정에 대한 개별 통계적 가뭄지수 간의 관계 설명이 매우 어렵다. 이와 같은 관계로, 국내 유역에서의 물리적 기반을 둔 고해상도 가뭄 판단방법에 대한 시도가 필요한 시점이다. Brown et al. (2008)은 위성기반 식생정보, 기상학적 가뭄지수, 지형학적 조건을 고려한 식생가뭄반응지수(Vegetation Drought Response Index; 이하 VegDRI)를 개발하였다. 학습자료에 대해 CART 기반의 경험적 모델을 구축하여, 격자마다 근-실시간 자료를 적용한 VegDRI를 산출하여 고해상도의 지도를 산출하는 방식을 제시하였다. VegDRI는 NCDC의 U.S. Drought Monitoring에 활용되고 있으며, NOAA의 Drought Task Force Assessment Protocol에서는 가뭄 모니터링의 기준으로 설정되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내에 VegDRI를 적용하고자 필요한 자료수집 및 전처리 과정을 거쳐 결과를 도출하였다. 기상청 ASOS 기상관측소에서 얻은 기상변수, MODIS 위성으로부터 추출된 정규식생지수(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index; NDVI), 지형학적 정보와 기상학적 가뭄지수(SPI, PDSI)를 기계학습으로 모델링하여 VegDRI를 산출하였다. 산출된 VegDRI 공간분포도에 대하여 기존에 활용되던 유관기관의 가뭄 판단방법과의 유사성과 차이점을 비교 검토하여 적용성을 평가하였다.
