Autonomous cars require the integration of multiple communication systems for driving safety. Many carmakers unveil mirrorless concept cars aiming to replace rear and sideview mirrors in vehicles with camera monitoring systems, which eliminate blind spots and reduce risk. This paper presents optical vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications for autonomous mirrorless cars. The flicker-free light emitting diode (LED) light sources, providing illumination and data transmission simultaneously, and a high speed camera are used as transmitters and a receiver in the OCC link, respectively. The rear side vehicle transmits both future action data and vehicle type data using a headlamp or daytime running light, and the front vehicle can receive OCC data from the camera that replaces side mirrors so as not to prevent accidents while driving. Experimental results showed that action and vehicle type information were sent by LED light sources successfully to the front vehicle's camera via the OCC link and proved that OCC-based V2V communications for mirrorless cars can be a viable solution to improve driving safety.

Due to its ease of deployment, low cost, self-configuring and self-healing capabilities, Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have emerged as a key technology to be used in a wide scale applications in personal, local, campus, and metropolitan areas. Security and more specifically privacy is an important issue in this type of multi-hop WMN which has given a little attention in the research community. We focus on privacy compromise of a mesh client in a community mesh network that may lead an attacker to reveal mesh clients identity. his other profiles and gain information about mobility. In this paper. we have presented an authentication mechanism with the aid of blind signature that ensures a mesh client to anonymously authenticate itself with a nearby mesh router and thereby preserve identity privacy We have also presented the security and performance analysis of the proposed scheme.

In an information-oriented society, visually impaired persons also should obtain the information with relative ease. They tend to receive the information of letters by tactile sensation through braille display systems. Several types of braille display systems have been suggested so far, but none of them have been widely used yet. The braille display system should provide multiple lines of braille units to improve the level of understanding. In this paper, we propose a cell type braille unit with $3{\times}2$ dots, each of which consists of a piezoelectric linear motor. A braille cell is small and lightweight enough to be portable, and it can be easily assembled in multiple lines. The preliminary tests using the proposed braille display system show that it can provide the information that can be well perceived by visually impaired persons.

Optical aligning process to archive the maximum optical coupling is crucial in many optical device manufacturing line such as laser diode module. Due to the three-dimensional nature of housing module and the aligning process for laser diode coupler, large amount of the manufacturing time, typically ranging from tens of minutes to an hour has to be devoted to the aligning process alone. In this thesis, we propose a new optical aligning process that employee a two-pass algorithm: coarse-to-fine search. Coarse search is a kind of blind search that finds the candidate region where the maximum optical coupling might mostly occur, followed by a fine searching that finds the maximum within the candidate region. The algorithm has been tested on 50 samples of cam-type laser diode modules, and the experimental results are analyzed in terms of aligning time and coupling efficiency.

One day to one week-old 3 female Korean native calves were referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Chonbuk National University, with atresia ani. The authors performed radiographic and ultrasonographic diagnosis with physical examination, general hematology and blood chemical examination as investigation. The atresia ani were type I, II, III in each 3 calves. In abdominal radiography and ultrasonography, there were ventral displacement of descending colon(gas and feces filled) and typical enlargement of the blind end of colon in all cases. Operation site was determined by radiographic and ultrasonographic findings in these cases. Surgical treatment, two cases were translocation of the colon to the body wall exiting as a colostomy and one case was corrected by making a circumcision through the skin covering the site of the anus.

Taebaeg-Hajang area, in the northern part of Taebaeg city, comprises of Paleozoic sedimentary sequences and Cretaceous intrusive and volcanoclastic rocks. The rocks in the area are affected by folding and thrusting during the Bulgugsa Orogeny. In Taebaeg area, geologic structures related with thrust movement are dominant. These structures are small scale of klippe and window, back thrust, and asymmetric folds related with blind thrust. Tear fault or compartment fault due to differential movement of thrust sheets have "en echelon" arrays. Small scale transpression effects occurred along these faults and produced the flower structure. According to strain measurement using by ooids from limestone and quartz grains from quartzite, strain ratios are very low and strain ellipsoids are apparent oblate type.

Esophageal atresia and Tracheoesophageal fistula may occur as separate entities but usually occur in combination. First described by Durston in 1970, esophageal atresia was not successfully treated until 1939 when the first two survivors of staged correction were described by Ladd and Leven. In 1941, Haight and Towsley performed the first successful primary repair. Authors report four cases of esophageal atresia of which two cases were treated surgically in success with Haight`s method. The type of four cases were all the same as upper blind pouch and lower tracheoesphageal fistula. Two of them were associated with verterbral defect, imperforate anus and/or rib fusion. Two cases died within seven days due to parent`s refusal for operative therapy, others were treated surgically with Haight`s method. Operative patients tolerated all the operative procedure and recovered uneventfully, permitted feeding on 7th postoperative day. On follow up study, one patient revealed intermittent regurgitation and corrected with bougienation another with good health without complication.

Blind equalizers recover the transmitted data using statistical characteristics of the signal alone. Among many alternatives, steepest gradient descent type algorithms such as the CMA and Sato algorithm are most widely utilized in practice. In this paper we propose a dual-mode NCMA algorithm, which combines the advantages of the dual mode CMA and Normalized CMA (NCMA) with the dual mode phase recovery algorithm. In addition, we perform computer simulations to demonstrate the performance improvement of the proposed algorithm with a QAM system. Simulation results show that the presented algorithm has a faster convergence speed and smaller steady-state residual error than the CMA and dual-mode CMA.
