BT is also likely to accelerate globalization of the telecommunications industry and massive restructuring driven by unbundling rush. However, systematic researches on BT remain at an infant stage. This study starts with structure analysis of the Internet industry, and discusses significance of Internet interconnection with respect to BT Issues. We also describe the bandwidth commoditization trends and review technical requirements for effective Internet interconnection with BT capability. Taking a step further, this study explores the possibility of improving efficiency of network providers and increasing user convenience by developing an architectural prototype of Hub-&-Spoke interconnection model required to facilitate BT. The BT market provides an Innovative base to ease rigidity of two-party contract and Increase service efficiency. However, as fair, efficient operation by third party is required, this research finally proposes an exchanging hub named NIBX(New Internet Business eXchange).

  • As the number of IOT devices is growing rapidly, various 'see-thru connection' techniques have been reported for efficient communication with them. In this paper, we propose a deep learning based IOT device recognition system for interaction with these devices. The overall system consists of a TensorFlow based deep learning server and two Android apps for data collection and recognition purposes. As the basic neural network model, we adopted Google's inception-v3, and modified the output stage to classify 20 types of IOT devices. After creating a data set consisting of 1000 images of 20 categories, we trained our deep learning network using a transfer learning technology. As a result of the experiment, we achieve 94.5% top-1 accuracy and 98.1% top-2 accuracy.

  • A high-throughput Quasi-Cyclic Low-Density Parity-Check (QC-LDPC) decoder architecture is proposed for 60GHz multi-gigabit wireless personal area network (WPAN) applications. Two novel techniques which can apply to our selected QC-LDPC code are proposed, including a four block-parallel layered decoding technique and fixed wire network. Two-stage pipelining and four block-parallel layered decoding techniques are used to improve the clock speed and decoding throughput. Also, the fixed wire network is proposed to simplify the switch network. A 672-bit, rate-1/2 QC-LDPC decoder architecture has been designed and implemented using 90-nm CMOS standard cell technology. Synthesis results show that the proposed QC-LDPC decoder requires a 794K gate and can operate at 290 MHz to achieve a data throughput of 3.9 Gbps with a maximum of 12 iterations, which meet the requirement of 60 GHz WPAN applications.

  • In the current trend of increasing network traffic due to the popularization of cloud service and mobile devices, WAN bandwidth is very low compared to LAN bandwidth. In a WAN environment, a WAN optimizer is needed to overcome performance problems caused by transmission protocol, packet loss, and network bandwidth limitations. In this paper, we analyze the data deduplication algorithm of WANProxy, an open source WAN optimizer, and evaluate its performance in terms of network latency and WAN bandwidth. Also, we evaluate the performance of the two-stage compression method of WANProxy and Zstandard. We propose a new method to improve the performance of WANProxy by revising its data deduplication algorithm and evaluate its performance improvement. We perform experiments using 12 data files of Silesia with a data segment size of 2048 bytes. Experimental results show that the average compression rate by WANProxy is 150.6, and the average network latency reduction rates by WANProxy are 95.2% for a 10 Mbps WAN environment and 60.7% for a 100 Mbps WAN environment, respectively. Compared with WANProxy, the two-stage compression of WANProxy and Zstandard increases the average compression rate by 33%. However, it increases the average network latency by 2.1% for a 10 Mbps WAN environment and 5.27% for a 100 Mbps WAN environment, respectively. Compared with WANProxy, our proposed method increases the average compression rate by 34.8% and reduces the average network latency by 13.8% for a 10 Mbps WAN and 12.9% for a 100 Mbps WAN, respectively. Performance analysis results of WANProxy show that its performance improvement in terms of network latency and WAN bandwidth is excellent in a 10Mbps or less WAN environment while superior in a 100 Mbps WAN environment.

  • In this paper, a two-stage single-ended power amplifier (PA) with broadband gain characteristics was presented by utilizing a radio frequency (RF) transformer (TF), which is essential for a differential amplifier. The bandwidth of a PA can be improved by designing TF to have broadband characteristics and then applying it to the inter-stage matching network (IMN) of a PA. For broadband gain characteristics while maintaining the performance and area of the existing PA, an IMN was implemented on an monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) and a multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB), and the simulation results were compared. As a result of simulating the PA module designed using InGaP/GaAs HBT model, it has been confirmed that the PA employing the proposed design method has an improved fractional bandwidth of 19.8% at a center frequency of 3.3GHz, while the conventional PA showed that of 11.2%.

  • The power allocation optimization problem is investigated for improving the physical-layer security in two-way relaying networks, where a full-duplex relay based half-jamming protocol (HJP-FDR) is considered. Specially, by introducing a power splitter factor, HJP-FDR divides the relay's power into two parts: one for forwarding the sources' signals, the other for jamming. An optimization problem for power split factor is first developed, which is proved to be concave and closed-form solution is achieved. Moreover, we formulate a power allocation problem to determine the sources' power subject to the total power constraint. Applying the achieved closed-form solutions to the above-mentioned problems, a two-stage strategy is proposed to implement the overall power allocation. Simulation results highlight the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm and indicate the necessity of optimal power allocation.

  • A fingerprint verification system based on a set of invariant moment features and a nonlinear Back Propagation Neural Network(BPNN) verifier is proposed. An image-based method with invariant moment features for fingerprint verification is used to overcome the demerits of traditional minutiae-based methods and other image-based methods. The proposed system contains two stages: an off-line stage for template processing and an on-line stage for testing with input fingerprints. The system preprocesses fingerprints and reliably detects a unique reference point to determine a Region-of-Interest(ROI). A total of four sets of seven invariant moment features are extracted from four partitioned sub-images of an ROI. Matching between the feature vectors of a test fingerprint and those of a template fingerprint in the database is evaluated by a nonlinear BPNN and its performance is compared with other methods in terms of absolute distance as a similarity measure. The experimental results show that the proposed method with BPNN matching has a higher matching accuracy, while the method with absolute distance has a faster matching speed. Comparison results with other famous methods also show that the proposed method outperforms them in verification accuracy.
