  • Recently, tunnel structure is being widely used in railway or roadway construction projects because earthwork causes large cutting and damages in environmental factors. However, there are many changes of design by different items comparing with design phase in tunnel structure by uncertain drawings. This study develops a standard process for the change of design to reduce change orders in construction phase.

  • Tunnel Mapper, which is tunnel face survey system was used to conduct Face Mapping on the face of the tunnel that is under construction. Then, accuracy and utility value on the forecast of discontinuity were verified to verify the field application in order to present the measures for the use of the system for conducting research on the discontinuity. As result of the directivity verification following discontinuity‘s project, forecasted measurement and actually researched measurement error for the Dip direction and Dip angle was less than ${\pm}10$. Accuracy was 82.6% for Dip direction and 90.7% for Dip angle, which are high. Accordingly, face research discontinuity forecasting system's reliability level towards directivity is high. Tunnel Mapper, a tunnel face survey system can be leveraged to replace face's visual survey and to obtain objective information, enabling execution of the survey system that can automate face survey going beyond time and space related limitations.

말레이지아 바쿤 가배수로 터널의 철근콘크리트 라이닝 설계 (Design of the reinforced concrete lining in bakun diversion tunnels)

  • 바쿤 수력발전 프로젝트에서 발전댐의 건설은 가배수로 터널의 완공에 따라 시작되믈 공사기간 측면에서 가배수로 터널의 완공시기는 전체 프로젝트에서 매우 중요한 요소이다. 바쿤 가배수로 터널의 내부단면은 물의 저항을 최대한 줄이기 위하여 원형으로 설계되었으며, 내부직경 12m 인 3개의 터널로 구성되어 있다. 일반적으로 터널 시공과정의 마무리 단계에서 수행되는 터널 라이닝 작업은 굴착 및 지반보강 공정과 더불어 시공비와 공사기간에 많은 영향을 끼치므로 적정한 수준의 라이닝 설계가 요구된다. 바쿤 가배수로 터널에 있어, 라이니으이 두께는현장여건에 따라 다소 차이가 있으나 500~700mm로 타설되었다. 가배수로 터널의 원설계안에 따르면 터널내 전체 라이닝에 필요한 보강콘크리트의 철근량은 5,985 ton 이었으나, 암반의 상태와 여러종류의 하중조건을 고려하여 5종류의 철근 보강 콘크리트 유형으로 구분한 후에 각각의 유형에 따른 상세설계를 통하여 최종적으로 소요 철근량을 2,178 ton으로 감소시킬 수 있었다. 감소된 양은 원설계에서 제시된 양의 절반에 해당되며, 이에 따라 공사기간 및 건설비용을 절감시킬 수 있었다.

표준단면을 이용한 터널 공사비 예측모델 개발 (II) - 공사비 변동 모델 및 검증 - (A Standard Section-Based Approximate Cost Estimating Model on Tunnel (II) - Cost Variance Index Table and Test -)

  • 본 연구는 터널공사비 영향요인 분석 결과를 이용하여 터널 공사비 예측에 활용될 수 있는 모델을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 공사비 영향요인의 변화에 따른 공사비 변동 지수표를 구축하고, 이를 바탕으로 사업 환경의 변화에 따른 공사비 추정을 위한 절차를 제시하였다. 또한 최근 수행된 실제 프로젝트를 대상으로 제시된 터널 공사비 추정모델의 적정성을 검증하는 작업을 수행하였다. 표준단면 및 공사비 변동비를 바탕으로 한 공사비 예측에 있어 실제 프로젝트를 통한 검증결과 실제 설계 예정가격과 비교하여 -5% ~ +11%의 범위에서 추정되었다. 제시된 모델은 기획단계에서 사업의 기본적인 조건을 바탕으로 사업비를 추정하고, 설계 및 시공단계에서 설계 대안에 대한 경제성 평가, 설계조건, 지반조건, 시공환경의 변화, 공법, 자재, 장비의 변경에 따른 공사비의 영향을 효율적으로 평가하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

여객/화물 복합열차 HSB의 터널 공력특성에 대한 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Numerical Study on Aerodynamic Characteristics in Tunnel for High Speed Combi Train-HSB)

  • The new high speed combi train prototype project was developed which named HSB. It runs over the speed of 330km/h. As the speed of the train exceeds over 300km/h, due to pressure change in tunnel, aerodynamic problems such as sudden drag increase, severe acoustic noise, passenger discomfort and tunnel pressure sonic boom were occurred. This aerodynamic characteristics in tunnel should be reviewed in early design state to enhance the performance and driving quality of new high speed train. In this paper, the aerodynamic characteristics in tunnel for HSB such as pressure waves in tunnel, a rate of pressure change in cabin and micro pressure wave that cause sonic boom outside tunnel are analyzed by 2D axisymmetric CFD simulations. The results are also compared with the value for ordinary high speed train like the KTX-Sancheon. It is helpful how to design the configuration of HSB train. Finally it shows that the HSB train was well designed in tunnel condition because all values fulfill the criterions on UIC code and Korean national regulations.

  • The longest tunnel has been halted at Daekwanryung by the failure of the host country of the Winter Olympiad in 2014, but modern High-Power TBM will come to Korea to excavate these long tunnels to establish the better horizontal connection between the western and eastern countries to improve the strong powerful logistic strategy of Korean peninsula. Train operation provides a key function of air movements in a long underground tunnel, and heat generation from transit vehicles may account of the most heat release to the ventilation and emergency systems. This paper indicates the optimal fire suppress services and safety provision for the long railway tunnel which is designed twin tunnel with length 22km in Gangwon province of Korea. The design of the fire-fighting systems and emergency were prepared by the operation of the famous long-railway tunnels as well as the severe lessons from the real fires in domestic and overseas experiences. Designers should concentrate the optimal solution for passenger's safety at the emergency state when tunnel fires, train crush accidents, derailment, and etc. The optimal fire-extinguishing facilities for long railway tunnels are presented for better safety of the comfortable operation in this hard rock tunnel of eastern mountains side of Korea. Since year 1900, hard rock tunnel construction has been launched for railway tunnels in Korea, tunnels have been built for various purposes not only for infrastructure tunnels including roadway, railway, subway, and but also for water and power supply, for deposit food, waste, and oils etc. Most favorable railway tunnel system was discussed in details; twin tunnels, distance of cross passage, ventilation systems, for the comfortable train operations in the future.

기획특집 - 거가대교 침매터널의 시공 (Construction of the Busan-Geoje Fixed Links Immersed tunnel)

  • The Busan-Geoje Fixed Link is an 8.2 km long motorway connecting Busan to the island of Geoje where the Korean big two shipbuilding yard locate on. This motorway includes a 3,300m immersed tunnel which is one of the longest immersed tunnel in the world and two cablestayed bridges each of 2km in length. The site locates in a exposed offshore, which is subjected to strong winds, large swell waves and strong tidal currents. These conditions together with the tunnel being at a deepest immersed tunnel ever built and the foundation condition is consisting of a very soft, normally to slightly over consolidated marine clay, makes the project unique and one of the most challenging immersed tunnels ever built.
