알칼리화합물과 텅스텐/바나듐산화물의 기계화학반응을 이용한 수 침출 연구 (Water Leaching of Tungsten and Vanadium through Mechanochemical Reaction of Their Oxides and Alkali-Compounds)

  • 알칼리화합물과의 기계화학반응을 통해 산화물로부터 텅스텐(W)과 바나듐(V) 성분의 수 침출 특성을 조사하였다. 기계화학반응은 알칼리화합물의 혼합율과 분쇄시간을 변화시키면서 실시하였고, 그 결과, 수용성 용해특성의 $Na_2WO_4$$NaVO_3$가 각각 생성되었으며 수 침출에 의한 W, V의 침출특성은 알칼리화합물의 혼합율과 분쇄시간에 비례하여 증가하였다. 99% 이상의 침출율은 각각 30분 (W), 5 분 (V)의 짧은 기계화학적 처리를 통하여 달성되었다. 이러한 기계화학적 처리를 통하여 텅스텐, 바나듐산화물로부터 수 침출에 의한 추출이 가능하였고, 이 공정은 탈질촉매로부터 텅스텐, 바나듐의 선택적 회수에 적용될 수 있다.

자전연소 합성법을 이용한 W-B 화합물 합성 및 조건 변수의 영향 (Synthesis of Tungsten Boride using SHS(Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis) and Effect of Its Parameters)

  • Due to their unique properties, tungsten borides are good candidates for the industrial applications where certain features such as high hardness, chemical inertness, resistance to high temperatures, thermal shock and corrosion. In this study, conditions were investigated for producing tungsten boride powder from tungsten oxide($WO_3$) by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) followed by HCl leaching techniques. In the first stage of the study, the exothermicity of the $WO_3$-Mg reaction was investigated by computer simulation. Based on the simulation experimental study was conducted and the SHS products consisting of borides and other compounds were obtained starting with different initial molar ratios of $WO_3$, Mg and $B_2O_3$. It was found that $WO_3$, Mg and $B_2O_3$ reaction system produced high combustion temperature and radical reaction so that diffusion between W and B was not properly occurred. Addition of NaCl and replacement of $B_2O_3$ with B successfully solved the diffusion problem. From the optimum condition tungsten boride($W_2B$ and WB) powders which has 0.1~0.9 um particle size were synthesized.

Near Infrared Shielding Properties of Quaternary Tungsten Bronze Nanoparticle Na0.11Cs0.22WO3

  • Reduced tungsten bronze nanoparticles of ternary and quaternary compounds were prepared by adding sodium and cesium to crystal structures of tungsten trioxides ($Na_xCs_{0.33-x}WO_3$, x = 0, 0.11) while maintaining the overall alkali metal fraction at 0.33, in an attempt to control near infrared (NIR) shielding property in the particular wavelength range of 780 to 1200 nm. The structure and composition analysis of the quaternary compound, $Na_{0.11}Cs_{0.22}WO_3$, revealed that 93.1% of the hexagonal phase was formed, suggesting that both alkali metals were mainly inserted in hexagonal channel. The NIR shielding property for $Na_{0.11}Cs_{0.22}WO_3$ was remarkable, as this material demonstrated efficient transmittance of visible light up to 780 nm and enhancement in NIR shielding because of the blue-shifted absorption maximum in comparison to $Cs_{0.33}WO_3$.

  • This study has been focused on an effective surface finishing method combining ELID (ELectrolytic In-process Dressing) and MAP (Magnetic Assisted Polishing) for the nano-precision mirror grinding of glass-lens molding mould. ELID grinding is an excellent technique for mirror grinding of various advanced metallic or nonmetallic materials. A polishing process is also required for elimination of scratches present on ELID grinded surfaces. MAP has been used as polishing method due to its high polishing efficiency and superior surface quality. It also presents some techniques for achieving the nanometer roughness of the hard material such as WC-Co, which are extensively used in precision tooling material.

슈퍼 2상 스테인리스강에서 χ와 σ상의 석출거동에 미치는 W치환의 영향 (Effect of W Substitution on the Precipitation Behavior of χ and σ Phase in Super Duplex Stainless Steels)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of W substitution on the precipitation behavior of ${\chi}$ and ${\sigma}$ phases in super duplex stainless steel. The ${\chi}$ phase was precipitated at the interface of ferrite / austenite phases and inside the ferrite phase at the initial stage of aging. With an increase in the aging time, the volume fraction of the ${\chi}$ phase increased, and then decreased with the transformation from the ${\chi}$ phase to the ${\sigma}$ phase. The ${\sigma}$ phase was precipitated later than the ${\chi}$ phase, and the volume fraction of x phase increased with the increase in the aging time. The ferrite phase was decomposed into the new austenite (${\gamma}2$) and ${\sigma}$ phases by aging treatment. The decomposition of the ferrite phase into the ${\gamma}2$ and ${\sigma}$ phases was retarded by W substitution for Mo. The volume fraction of the ${\chi}$ phase increased and that of the ${\sigma}$ phase decreased due to W substitution. The ${\chi}$ and ${\sigma}$ phases were intermetallic compounds, which had lower nickel concentration, and higher chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten concentrations. The ${\chi}$ phase has higher molybdenum and tungsten concentrations than those of the ${\sigma}$ phase. The amounts of chromium and nickel in the ${\chi}$ and ${\sigma}$ phases did not change, but these phases have higher concentrations of molybdenum and tungsten due to W substitution for Mo.

WOx/SBA-15 촉매와 과산화수소를 이용한 선박용 경유의 산화 탈황 연구 (Oxidative Desulfurization of Marine Diesel Using WOx/SBA-15 Catalyst and Hydrogen Peroxide)

  • 선박용 경유(황 농도 약 230 ppmw)의 황화합물 제거를 위해 산화텅스텐($WO_x$)을 실리카로 이루어진 다공성 물질인 SBA-15에 담지한 산화 촉매를 제조하였으며 산화제로 과산화수소를 이용한 산화공정과 추출 용매로 아세토니트릴을 이용한 추출공정을 통해 촉매의 산화성능을 확인하였다. XRD 및 XRF, XPS 분석과 BET 이론을 통해 제조한 촉매의 물리적 특성에 대해 조사하였다. 담지된 $WO_x$는 삼산화텅스텐($WO_3$)으로 존재하였으며 실제 담지율이 약 10 wt% 부근일 때 단일층을 형성하는 것으로 판단된다. 제조한 촉매의 산화성능을 확인한 결과, 0.1 g의 13 wt% $WO_x$/SBA-15 촉매와 과산화수소(산소/황 몰 비=10)를 도입하여 $90^{\circ}C$에서 3시간 동안 반응이 이루어졌을 때 76.3%의 가장 높은 황 제거율을 나타냈다. 연속반응 비교 실험을 통해 1회의 산화반응으로 황 화합물의 산화가 충분히 일어났음을 확인하였다. 또한 5회의 추출공정을 통해 최대 94.4%의 황 제거율을 나타냈다.

  • The effects of W content and heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Hastelloy C-276 alloy investment castings were discussed. As the W content was increased, dendritic microstructure was refined and network type precipitate formed during solidification was distributed on the dendritic grain boundaries. Cr, Fe and Mn were highly segregated in the Ni-based dendrite matrix, and Mo, W, C and Si were in the precipitates. Due to the heat treatment, fine granular and flake precipitates were newly formed in the matrix, and unresolved network type precipitates remained on the grain boundary. The network type precipitates and the granular and flake precipitates formed by heat treatment were confirmed to be ${\mu}$ phase intermetallic compounds with similar compositions. Due to the increase of the W content and the heat treatment, hardness and tensile strength were significantly increased. However, tensile strength after aging treatment was decreased with the W content. These results can be explained in that brittle fracturing by the unresolved network type precipitates dispersed in the grain boundary was predominant over ductile fracturing by the dimple ruptures originating from the fine granular precipitates in the matrix.

산화 텅스텐의 비화학량론 (Nonstoichiometry of the Tungsten Oxide)

  • 비화학량론적 산화물$WO_{3-x}$의 비화학량 x값과 전기전도도를 350~700$^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위와 $2{\times}10_{-1}\;to\;1{\times}10_{-5}$ atm의 산소분압 범위에서 측정하였다. 비화학량론적 조성식에서 x의 생성엔탈피 ${\Delta}H^{\circ}_f$가 양의 값을 가지는 것으로 보아 결함생성은 흡열 과정이고, 결함생성의 산소분압 의존성인 1/n값은 -1/5.7~-1/6.1로 변하였다. 전기전도도의 활성화에너지는 각 산소분압에 따라 0.24~0.29 eV이었고, 전기전도도의 산소분압 의존성인 1/n은 -1/4.3~-1/7.6의 값을 나타내었다. 이로부터 n형 반도체로써 산화텅스텐의 결함모델은 낮은 온도에서는 1가로 하전된 산소공위가 우세하지만 온도가 상승함에 따라 2가로 하전된 산소공위가 우세해진다.

WO3 피복 석탄회의 광촉매 특성에 미치는 TiO2의 첨가 효과 (Effect of Adding WO3 on Photocatalytic Property of TiO2 Coated Coal Fly Ash)

  • To improve the photocatalyticactivity of $TiO_2$-coated coal fly ash, tungsten hydroxide was doped by impregnation method and was oxidized by heat treatment in temperature ranges of $WO^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs. The changes of crystal structure and crystal size of $TiO_2$and $WO_3$on coal fly ash were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure of titanium dioxide showed only anatase type and $TiO_2$-$WO_3$ compounds appeared in the heat treatment temperature ranges of $500∼600^{\circ}C$. By adding $V_3$in $TiO_2$coated on fly ash, the growth of crystal size of anatase was restrained and the anatase phase was stabilized in temperature ranges of TEX>$500∼<800^{\circ}C$. And $WO_3$acted as a trap site of electrons excited from anatase by irradiating UV. The maximum removal efficiency of NO gas for $TiO_2$/$WO_3$-coated coal fly ash was 84% and appeared when the ammonium tungstate of $1.3${\times}$10^{-3}$ M was doped and then heated at $600^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs.

  • 텅스텐 박막의 RIE 플라즈마 에칭공정에서 에칭속도는 $SF_6$$N_2$ 가스와의 상대적인 비와 공정 변수들에 매우 민감하게 의존함을 알았다. 질소 첨가효과와 텅스텐 박막/PR과의 에칭 선택비에 관련된 애칭 profile 결과를 SEM 사진으로 나타내었다. $SF_6-N_2$ 가스 에칭 후 텅스텐 막 표면에 잔존하는 화합물을 XPS를 이용하여 그 종류와 화학적 결합상태를 조사하고, 남아있는 F 이온들은 플라즈마가 켜져 있는 상태에서 OES를 이용하여 측정함으로써 정확한 에칭 메커니즘을 규명하고자 하였다.
