유선조직내에 출현하는 dendritic cell의 형태학적 연구 II. 전자현미경적 관찰 (Morphological studies on the dendritic cells in the mammary gland II. Electron microscopic observations)

  • In order to investigate the morphological characteristics of dendritic cells in the mammary gland of the mouse (C57 BL/6), rat(W), rabbit and cat, the fine structures of the dendritic cells have been observed by the electron microscope. The results obtained were summarized as follows: The dendritic cells with the well-developed processes had an irregular shape, and lacked the desmosome. The pinocytotic vesicles and tubular invaginations of the cell membrane were frequently observed, and the mitochondria with the well-developed cristae were located in the restricted region in the cytoplasm of the dendritic cells. The nuclei of dendritic cells were indented, In the mice and rats, the dendritic cells had a few Langerhans cell granules(Birbeck granules). From the above results, it is confirmed that the ATPase-positive dendritic cells in the mammary gland are the Langerhans cells.

  • 본 논문은 해양 구조물에 대한 확률적 기법을 이용한 스펙트럴 피로해석 방법에 대하여 기술하고 있다. 환경조건 특히 파도 및 관련된 해상상태, 파도 스펙트럼에 대하여 조사하였다. 각종 공식을 이용한 응력 집중계수와 유한요소법을 이용한 응력 집중계수 산출 방법 및 피로수명에 대한 그 영향에 대하여 연구하고, S-N선도의 선택과 해상상태의 간략화 문제등에 관해서도 다루었다. 마지막으로 스펙트럴 피로해석 기법을 응용한 실제 피로해석 사례 연구를 통하여 본 방법의 유용성을 입증하였다.

Topology optimization of nonlinear single layer domes by a new metaheuristic

  • The main aim of this study is to propose an efficient meta-heuristic algorithm for topology optimization of geometrically nonlinear single layer domes by serially integration of computational advantages of firefly algorithm (FA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). During the optimization process, the optimum number of rings, the optimum height of crown and tubular section of the member groups are determined considering geometric nonlinear behaviour of the domes. In the proposed algorithm, termed as FA-PSO, in the first stage an optimization process is accomplished using FA to explore the design space then, in the second stage, a local search is performed using PSO around the best solution found by FA. The optimum designs obtained by the proposed algorithm are compared with those reported in the literature and it is demonstrated that the FA-PSO converges to better solutions spending less computational cost emphasizing on the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

  • Plasma polymerization of Perfiuoropropene(PFP) and n-Hexane was carried out in a tubular type reactor by means of 13.56MHz radio frequency generator at the fixed RF discharge power of 25W and at the pressures of 100mTorr, 140mTorr and 200mTorr. The thin films were deposited on PAN fabrics in order to improve the dimemsional stability of woven states in hot water laundry. IR spectroscopy was used for the analysis of the structures of the thin films deposited and SEM for examination of surfaces of the fabrics. the PAN fabrics, which were coated by thin films at several experimental conditions, were immersed in boiling water for 2 hours and then the dimension stability of woven states were evaluated. In spite of very thin films, the results of surface modification were satisfactory. In general the performace of thin films by PFP was superior to that of n-Hexane.

후두-기관 협착 (Laryngotracheal Stenosis)

  • Laryngotracheal stenosis is a congenital or acquired narrowing of the airway, representing a continuum of disease that may affect the glottis, subglottis, and/or trachea. The larynx and trachea are semirigid tubular structures in which concentric scar contraction - a normal wound healing process - tends to narrow the lumen. The diversity of causes, severity, location of stenosis, and association with swallowing and phonation make this disease difficult to compare across patient populations and treating otolaryngologists. The wide array of surgical techniques for any given stenosis attests to the complexity and less than perfect results of the treatment. This review will address the etiology, diagnosis, and management of laryngotracheal stenosis.

  • The project comprised the construction of the new oil pier and associated topside facilities and demolition of exiting south pier. The site is located approximately 33km south of Kuwait city at MAA refinery. The approach trestle and berth structures of the new oil pier were designed to be supported by steel tubular piles Total 2,480 numbers of piles(795 piles at Approach Trestle, 1187 piles at Berth 1 -4 and 498 piles at Berth 5-6) had to be driven through the calcareous silty sand In this study, the design procedures for offshore steel pipe piles, evaluation for the compression and tension capacities by static and dynamic load test and effective driving criteria by the final set values are discussed

  • Three-dimensional superstructures of unique self-assemblies generated by exploring the conformational flexibility of various dipyrromethenes through creation of hydrogen-bonds with metal-halide anions are reported and the conformational diversity is thoroughly described in the solid and solution states by X-ray diffraction analysis and variable temperature NMR spectroscopy. The tetrahedral or octahedral structures of their precursors, various metal-dipyrromethene complexes, are also reported, based on the crystallographic data. STM images of the self-assemblies observed on graphite surfaces present interesting arrangements and appear as tubular bunches.

  • Laboratory tests are conducted to validate the mechanical model of a filament-wound composite shaft. Also, design charts are produced by validated analytical calculations based on the Timoshenko beam model of a layered steel/composite structure. The major results found are that steel/composite hybrid shafts can lead to better dynamic and static performances over steel or pure composite shafts of the same volume, and the most effective composite structures contain some steel in the form of a tubular core. These results can be used in the design process of composite boring bars and automotive drive shafts.

Fabrication of PZT Tubular Structures by a Template-wetting Process

  • Nanotubes and microtubes of ferroelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) were synthesized by means of a simple and convenient process called a template-wetting process. Nanoporous alumina and macroporous Si were used as template materials to fabricate the corresponding tubes. For the improvement of the wetting properties of the wetting solution, the PZT solution was mixed with a polymer. The polymer was removed completely during annealing. The grain growth processes of the PZT nanotubes during baking and furnace annealing were examined by means of field emission electron microscope (FE-SEM) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD).

Hysteresis modeling for cyclic behavior of concrete-steel composite joints using modified CSO

  • Concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) column joints with composite beams have been widely used as lateral loading resisting elements in civil infrastructure. To better utilize these innovative joints for the application of structural seismic design and analysis, it is of great importance to investigate the dynamic behavior of the joint under cyclic loading. With this aim in mind, a novel phenomenal model has been put forward in this paper, in which a Bouc-Wen hysteresis component is employed to portray the strength and stiffness deterioration phenomenon caused by increment of loading cycle. Then, a modified chicken swarm optimization algorithm was used to estimate the optimal model parameters via solving a global minimum optimization problem. Finally, the experimental data tested from five specimens subjected to cyclic loadings were used to validate the performance of the proposed model. The results effectively demonstrate that the proposed model is an easy and more realistic tool that can be used for the pre-design of CFST column joints with reduced beam section (RBS) composite beams.
