  • Hot hydrostatic extruder was developed. The main objective of the development is forming fine wire and tube. On account of effectiveness and high performance, the extruder was designed to have double action. Therefore the main cylinder and mandrel can be driven independently. To cope with severe condition of high temperature and pressure, wire-wound container equipped with heater was used. Sealing technique also is important in this process, so seal ring was made of super-elastic metal. Another key for successful forming is choice of proper pressure medium. Fine wire and tube produced by the extruder can be used in semiconductor industry and medicine.

연성파괴 이론을 적용한 튜브 온간액압성형의 성형한계 예측 (Prediction for Forming Limit of Tube Warm Hydroforming Based on the Ductile Fracture Criteria)

  • Hydroformability and fracture criteria of FE analysis based on ductile fracture were investigated in warm hydroforming of A16061 tube. To evaluate the hydroformability, uni-axial tensile test and bulge test were performed at room temperature and $200^{\circ}C$. The measured flow stresses were used as input parameters for FE analysis. The damage values were calculated by FE analysis based on ductile fracture criteria at maximum radius of free bulged tubes. Damage values were compared of hexagonal shaped hydroformed parts. As a result, the formability by critical damage value for extruded tube is lower than that of full annealed tube up to 0.5.

  • Magnesium alloy is being used for structural material since it has high specific strength. Tubular shape was effective way for enhanced structural design. To manufacture the tube, it is necessary to weld the butted joint of both tubular formed sides. But the magnesium alloy was hardly welded with conventional welding processes. The laser welding was effective way to joint magnesium alloys because it had high weld strength and productivity compare with other welding processes. In this study, magnesium alloy sheets was formed at elevated temperature to tubular shape and welded with laser. Consequently, the magnesium alloy tube was making successful with warm forming and laser welding and bicycle frame was making with it.

  • Hydroforming is a forming process enabling circular metal tubes to be produced in complex cross sections along curved axial paths. This forming process is widely used to manufacture parts in automotive industry. This paper presents bending and forming results to following angle of weld line positions. These compare to good bending, bad bending and without weld line model case. And then this result of after forming compare to each forming cases. The purpose of this paper is found that adaptive weld line position for bended final shape.

다구찌 직교배열을 이용한 트레일링 암 튜브 벤딩 공정 변수 최적화 (Optimization of the Tube Bending Process of Taguchi's Orthogonal Matrix)

  • This paper covers finite element simulations to evaluate tube bending process of auto chassis component i.e. trailing-arm product. The rear of the auto chassis structure is primarily composed of CTBA and trailing-arm. When a car rolls into a corner, the trailing arm reacts to roll in the same degree as the car body. During the bending process of trailing arm the tube undergoes significant deformation. Thus forming defects such as excessive thinning and flattening of the tube will be formed in the outside of the tube. In this paper, we analyzed the effect of process parameters in rotary draw bending process and searched the optimized combination of process parameters using orthogonal arrays method to minimize the forming defects. In this process we analyzed several parameters which are displacement of pressure die, boosting force, initial position of mandrel bar, dimensions of mandrel in regarding to the thinning and flattening of the tube.

  • 이 연구에서는 내진구조용 강재(SN)의 냉강롤성형된 각형강관을 사용한 CFT 부재의 중심축하중에 대한 구조성능을 평가한다. 일반적으로 냉간롤성형 및 냉간프레스형성으로 인하여 각형강관의 코너부와 평판부 모두 SN강재에 비해 재질변화가 발생하며, 항복강도와 인장강도 및 항복비의 상한치가 높아지는 경향을 나타낸다. 이러한 현상은 강관의 국부좌굴 이후의 비선형거동에 의해 영향을 주며, 이는 CFT 합성 부재와 같이 비선형해석모델에 대하여 영향을 미친다. 따라서 각형강관의 가공열화도를 평가하기 위하여 각형강관의 재료시험을 수행하였고, 세장비 및 판-폭두께비를 실험변수로 하여 일축 압축력을 받는 CFT부재의 구조성능을 평가하였다.

만장굴 용암동굴을 형성한 용암의 공급지에 관한 연구 (Study on Source of Lava Flows Forming the Manjanggul Lava Tube)

  • 제주도 북동부 지역에서 만장굴 용암동굴을 형성한 용암은, 그 용암의 공급지가 거문오름 분석구로 추정되었지만, 그 공급지에 대한 자세한 연구가 없기 때문에 이에 대한 이견이 좁혀지지 않고 있다. 우리는 현생 화산지역에서 형성되고 있는 세계 도처의 용암동굴에 관한 연구결과를 토대로, 만장굴 용암동굴을 형성한 용암이 어디에서 공급되었는지를 유추해 보았다. 제주도 북동부 지역에서 암상, 형상과 고도를 바탕으로 용암류역도를 작성하고, 각 용암류역에 나타나는 용암동굴의 분포와 상호 연관성을 검토하였다. 그 결과 거문오름 용암동굴계는 거문오름 용암류역 내에서 주간동굴선, 복합동굴망과 단일동굴선으로 구분된다. 주간동굴선은 웃산전굴, 북오름굴, 대림동굴, 만장굴, 김녕굴, 용천동굴로 연결되며, 여기에 벵뒤굴 복합동굴망이 있고 김녕빌레못굴~게웃샘굴로 연결되는 단일동굴선이 있다. 또한 거문오름 분석구에서 북북동 방향으로 발달되는 약 2km 협곡은 기존 용암동굴의 붕괴도랑으로 해석되며 그 위치와 방향성에 의하면 거문오름 용암동굴계의 주판동굴선 상류 일부분임을 지시한다. 따라서 용암류역도, 용암동굴 분포, 붕괴도랑 방향성 등을 고려할 때, 만장굴 용암동굴을 형성한 용암류는 거문오름 분석구에서 공급된 것으로 판단된다.

로터리 드로우 벤더를 이용한 타원형 튜브의 유한요소 벤딩 해석 (Finite Element Bending Analysis of Oval Tubes Using Rotary Draw Bender for Hydroforming Applications)

  • In manufacturing automotive parts, such as engine cradles, frame rails, subframes, cross-members, and other parts from circular tubes, pre-bending and pre-forming operations are often required prior to the subsequent tubular hydroforming process. During some pre-forming operations, the cross section of a bent circular tube is crushed into an oval-like shape to ensure proper geometry and sufficient clearance in the hydroforming dies. For such applications, the use of oval Instead of circular tubes could be an effective means of eliminating the pre-forming step. The oval tube could also be produced with less thinning and with less strain on the outside of the bend when controlled by a booster system without the use of mandrel. Hence, the understanding of the issues that occur in the bending of oval tubes is worthy of Investigation. This paper presents parametric studies on the bending of oval tubes without a mandrel. The finite element modeling technique is used to examine the deformation characteristics for both circular and oval tubes. In the simulations, the bending process parameters of bend radius, aspect ratio of the tube ovalness, and tube wall thickness are varied. Observations are made to obtain a hoop-buckle limit diagram in terms of a non-dimensional shape degradation factor. Suggestions based upon developed criteria are made on the acceptability of bend tubes suitable for hydroforming applications without the need ofa pre-forming step or the used of a mandrel.

유동성형의 성형력에 미치는 가공깊이와 이송속도의 영향 (The Effects of Forming Depth and Feed Rate on Forming Force of Flow Forming)

  • The flow forming has been used to produce long thin walled tube parts, with reduced forming load and enhanced mechanical and surface quality for a good finished part compared with other method formed parts. So flow forming technique is used widely in industrial production. Especially spinning and flow farming techniques an used frequently in automotive, aerial, defense industry. In this paper, FEM analysis of three-roller backward flow forming of a workpiece is carried out to study effects of forming depth and feed rate on forming force. The axial and radial forces on several forming depth and feed rate conditions are obtained. The phenomena such as bell mouth, build up and bulging during simulation are observed as well.
