A Study on Antimutagenic Acitivities of the Extracts from Dianthi Herba (구맥(瞿麥)의 항돌연변이(抗突然變異) 활성(活性)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • Antigenotoxicity test (SOS chromotest) and antimutagenecity test (Ames test) were carried out using water-soluble and methanolic extracts from Dianthi Herba. Antigenotoxic activity of methanolic extract against mutagens both MNNG and NQO was much more effective than that of water-soluble one. When the extract was added to the certain concentration $(100\;{\mu}l/tube)$, antigenotoxic activities against both mutagens were enhanced. Against the mutagen MNNG with Ames test, antimutagenic activity of the methanolic extract was better than that of water-soluble one. The 74.6% of inhibition ratio for revertant forming CFU/plate was shown at $300\;{\mu}l/plate$ of the methanolic extract.

Machining effect of the Autofrettaged Compound Cylinder (자긴가공된 이중실린더의 기계가공효과)

  • Autofrettage process is used for internal forming and sizing of cylinder designed to withstand high internal pressures. Once the tube is autofrettaged, it needs to be machined to its final dimensions both at the bore and its outer surface. This paper presents an analytical analysis and numerical analysis of machined compound cylinder using finite element code, ANSYS10.0. An analytical model for predicting the level of autofrettage following either inner, outer, or combined machining of the compound cylinder is developed for the autofrettage residual stress field is simulated by an autofrettaged pressure. The autofrettaged pressures are obtained by using trying-error method. As autofrettage percentage is 20 %, the numerical results are found to be in almost agreement with the analytical ones. However, as autofrettage percentage is 60 %, the numerical results have a little difference with the analytical ones.

  • 소재의 손실을 최소한 줄이면서 원하는 형상의 제품을 가공하는 가장 기본적인 금속 가공 방법은 금형을 이용하는 금속 성형(metal forming)이다. 본 논문에서는 준정적 금속 성형 문제 해석 에대한 외연적 시간 적분 유한 요소법의 적용성을 평가 하기 위하여 변형모드가 복잡한 박판튜브 (thin-walled tube)의 좌굴문제를 해석하여 변형과정이 이론 및 실험결과와 비교적 잘 일치하는지 살펴보기로 한다. 또한 준정적 금속 성형 문제 해석에 외연적 시간 적분 유한 요소법을 사용할 때 계산 시간을 줄이기 위하여 많이 사용되는 가압속도 조절법(loading velocity control technique) 의 타당성을 평가하기 위하여 박판 튜브와 중실 실린더(solid cylinder)의 변형 속도에 따른 변형 모드의 변화를 비교 관찰하여 기하학적 형상에따른 가압속도 조절법의 적용 가능 여부를 분석하여 보겠다.

Study on the response of circular thin plate under low velocity impact

  • In this paper, forming of fully clamped circular plate by using low velocity impact system has been investigated. This system consists of liquid shock tube and gravity drop hammer. A series of test on mild steel and aluminum alloy plates has been done. The effect of varying both impact load and the plate material on the deflection are described. This paper also presents a simple model to prediction of mid-point deflection of circular plate by using input-output experimental data. In this way, singular value decomposition (SVD) method is used in conjunction with dimensionless number incorporated in such complex process. The results of obtained model have very good agreement with experimental data and it provides a way of studying and understanding the plastic deformation of impact loads.

  • For an accurate analysis of hot stamping, a coupled simulation with different aspects of the process(i.e. mechanical, thermal, and phase transformation) is needed. However, coupled simulations are time consuming and costly. Therefore, the current study proposes a simplified method focused on the forming for the hot stamping simulation of a coupled torsion beam axle (CTBA) tubular beam. In this simplified method, non-isothermal conditions were assumed and only conduction was considered, since it represents the majority of the heat transfer during hot stamping. In addition, temperature and strain rate effects were also included. Moreover, an isothermal simulation was conducted and compared with a non-isothermal simulation. Finally, the simulations were verified by experiments. In conclusion, the proposed method is shown to be effective for the development of tube-type parts, and it effectively predicts the deformation of the tubular beam during hot stamping.

  • Magnetic Fluid Linear Pump(MFLP)는 자성유체의 자기적 성질과 유체의 성질을 이용하여 일반적인 펌프의 기어 대신 자성유체를 이용하여 기계적 진동이나 소음을 최소화한 시스템이다. MFLP는 구조가 간단하고 동작전류에 의해 쉽게 조절할 수 있다. MFLP의 동작전류에 의해 발생한 자기장의 정도에 따라 유연하면서 펌핑력이 높은 동작이 가능하다. 따라서 MFLP를 운전하는데 있어 동작전류의 패턴과 크기, 중첩정도에 따른 펌핑력이 변하게 되며, 이에 따른 자기장과 관내의 자성유체의 형상을 해석하여 유연하고 펌핑력이 높은 MFLP의 운전방식을 개발하고자 하였다.

  • HTS tubes were fabricated in terms of various SrSO4 additions by Centrifugal Forming Method. For powder melting by induction, the optimum temperature ranges of melting and preheating were 105$0^{\circ}C$~110$0^{\circ}C$ and 55$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min respectively The mould rotating speed was 1000rpm. A tube was annealed at 84 $0^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The plates like grains more than 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were well developed along the rotating direction of mould regardless of the amounts of SrSO4 in Bi2212. The measured Ic and Jc at 77K(B = 0T) in Bi2212 with 7% SrSO4 composition were about 680A and 380A/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • Porosity in spray-formed materials is an important issue, but the formation of porosity is not completely understood. The paper gives some examples picked from literature, which show some general correlations between process parameters and porosity. To improve the understanding of porosity formation it is necessary to know more about the conditions of the droplets and the deposit at the point of impingement. Determining the impact conditions is a challenge because usually they are not constant with time and some values are difficult to measure. Our experiments show a strong correlation between the deposit surface temperature and the porosity. The average impact angle weighted by the local particle mass flux is also an important parameter.

  • The cell density and packing characteristics of Escherichia coli immobilized in a dual hollow fiber bioreactor consisting of outer silicone membrane for oxygen transport and three inner isotropic polypropylene hollow fibers for substrate transport were investigated. The cells have grown forming the layer like animal tissue in a nearly 100% packing density. The dry biomass density was 550g/liter of void volume for cell growth, which was the highest among the biomass densities ever reported.

The First Record of the Genus Dichaeta Meigen (Diptera: Ephydridae) from Korea

  • The genus Dichaeta Megen is a small group of acalyptratae flies belonging to the subfamily Notiphilinae in the family Ephydridae. Up to now, six species are recorded only in the Northern Hemisphere. Adults are small flies and typically found in the sedge and grass around lentic and lotic aquatic systems, and larvae feed on saprophytic microorganisms. Adults are readily recognized with the following peculiar morphology of the male abdomen: fourth abdominal tegite with some markedly long setae along its posterior margin, and these setae sometimes extend beyond the length of the posterior apex of the abdomen; modified fifth abdominal tergite produced posteriorly, either forming a slender and elongated tube with two to three larger and elongated terminal setae. This genus is recorded for the first time in the Korean fauna based on the discovery of a nominated species, Dichaeta caudata (Fallén, 1813). Diagnoses and figures about the firstly recorded species are provided herein.
