정밀 금속 벨로우즈 성형 및 스프링백 해석 (Study on the Forming and Springback Analyses of a Precision Metal Bellows)

  • The manufacturing of a metal bellows consists of the four main forming processes; deep-drawing, ironing, tube bulging and folding. Among these, the bulging and folding processes are critically important because the quality of metal bellows is greatly influenced by the forming conditions of these processes. In the present study, the finite element analysis technique is applied to the bulging and folding processes. The springback analysis is also called out. From the analysis results, it has been revealed that around the crown point the stress state is in one-directional tension and one-directional bending mode. Meanwhile, around the inner point of metal bellows it is in two-directional bending mode. It has also revealed that the thickness of metal bellows around the crown point is nearly uniform.

전방압출과 연계된 레이디얼압출의 성형특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forming Characteristics of Radial Extrusions Combined with Forward Extrusion)

  • This paper is concerned with the family of parts that generally feature a central hub with radial protrusions. Radial Extrusion is usually used in order to produce complex parts, which is combined with upsetting and/or forward and backward extrusion. Typical parts that fall into this category include cross pieces for universal joints, key-shaft type parts, tube fittings, and differential gears. In this paper, the forming characteristics of radial extrusion combined with forward extrusion is investigated by comparing the punch and mandrel loads. The design factors during radial extrusion combined with forward extrusion are applied to the simulation to see how much those factors have effect on the forming loads. The rigid-plastic FEM is applied to the simulation.

  • BSCCO 2212 HTS was fabricated by CFP(centrifugal forming process). The powder was initially ground in the mixing ratio of 2:2::1:2 with 10% of SrSO$_4$. The temperature increased up to 1035$^{\circ}C$ and 1200$^{\circ}C$ for melting. The melt was poured into the preheated and rotating copper mould from 200 to 600$^{\circ}C$. The specimen was not broken by thermal impact when the melting temperature was over 1050$^{\circ}C$ and copper mould was preheated over 400$^{\circ}C$ for 30min. A tube type of specimen was annealed at 840$^{\circ}C$ or 860$^{\circ}C$ in oxygen atmosphere for 24hours. Typical microstructure was analyzed in terms of CFP parameters by XRD, SEM, and EDS and also superconducting characteristics were compared.

관재의 하이드로 포밍 기술개발 (Development of tube hydroforming technology)

  • The hydroforming technology has gained in importance over the last few years, because of its potential for substantial weight avings costs reduction and quality improvement such as collision property, shape fixability and rigidity of white body. However, in comparison with the traditional sheet forming process, the hydroforming is much younger and the main development efforts were made in the last 15 years. The new technology, high pressure tublar hydroforming in particular, involves many process parameters to be optimized. This paper covers a brief overview of the hydroforming simulator as well as design of die and tools. The effects of typical parameters such as internal pressure and axial compression stroke are presented. Moreover, the conditions of forming failure occurrences such as fracture and wrinkle are examinated.

원심성형법을 이용한 BSCCO계 고온초전도튜브 제조 및 특성 분석 (Fabrication and Characterization of BSCCO System High-Temperature Superconductor Tube Using Centrifigal Forming Process)

  • High-temperature superconductor of Bi-2212 system was fabricated by CFP(Centrifugal Forming Process). To make a uniform specimen slurry was prepared in the ratio of 7:3(powder : binder) and ball milled for 24 hours. Milled slurry was charged into a rotating mold with 450 rpm and dried at room temperature. Then the specimen was performed binder burn-out at 35$0^{\circ}C$ and heated for partial melting to 86$0^{\circ}C$. XRD analysis of most specimens were shown 2212 phase and observed a local plate shped microstructure with a well aligned c-axis direction from SEM images. Measured T$_{c}$(Critical temperature) was about 64 K.K.

  • Copper magnetron anode of a microwave-oven consists of an cylindrical outer-tube and various inner-vanes. The magnetron anode is produced by the complex process ; vane blanking, pipe cutting and sliver-alloy brazing of vanes. Recently, the backward extrusion process for forming vanes has been developed to avoid the complex procedures. The developed process is analyzed by using upper-bound elemental technique(UBET). In the UBET analysis, the upper-bound load, the configuration and the vane-height of final extruded product are determined by minimizing the total power consumption with respect to chosen parameters. To verify theoretical analysis, experiments have been carried out with pure plasticine billets at room temperature, using different web-thickness and number of vanes. The theoretical predictions both for forming load and vane-height are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results.
