Crawling robots are advantageous in overcoming obstacles. These robots have characteristics such as light weight and outstanding mobility. In case of large robots, they have difficulties passing narrow gaps or entering the cave. In this paper, we propose a milli-scale hexapedal robot using 4-bar linkages. Two conditions are necessary to enable efficient walking. In short, the trajectory of the foot must be elliptical, and the lowest point of the foot should be the same. These conditions are satisfied with a novel leg design. The robot has a pair of three legs and the legs are coupled to operate simultaneously. Each set of the legs are installed to robot's both sides and the legs satisfy the equal lowest foot point and elliptical trajectory. As a result, this hexapedal robot can crawl with 0.56m/s speed.
This paper presents an under-actuated robotic hand inspired by the ligamentous structure of the human hand for a prosthetic application. The joint mechanisms are based on the concept of a tensegrity structure formed by elastic strings. These rigid bodies and elastic strings in the mechanism emulate the phalanx bones and primary ligaments found in human finger joints. As a result, the proposed hand inherently possesses compliant characteristics, ensuring robust adaptability during grasping and when interacting with physical environments. For the practical implementation of the tensegrity-based joint mechanism, we detail the installation of the strings and the routing of the driving tendon, which are related to extension and flexion, respectively. Additionally, we have designed the palm structure of the proposed hand to facilitate opposition and tripod grips between the fingers and thumb, taking into account the transverse arch of the human palm. In conclusion, we tested a prototype of the proposed hand to evaluate its motion and grasping capabilities.
In research conducted on a southwestern Korean offshore meteorological tower, acceleration datasets were gathered over half a year with time-history sensors. To enhance data credibility, a parallel measurement system was used for verification. A model of the tower was configured using beam elements, and with modifications accounting for added stiffness from auxiliary structures. Ground interactions were considered as calibrated springs based on soil layer properties. The tower's dynamic attributes and mass sensitivity were discerned using eigenvalue analysis. The structural natural frequency was consistent, with variations primarily due to new equipment adding approximately 1400 kgs. With free vibration damping assumptions, a damping ratio of roughly 1 % was derived.
The crack presented in concrete structures causes a structural defect, the durability decrease, and external damages etc. Therefore, it is necessary to improve durability through the effort to control the crack. Fluosilicic acid($H_2SiF_6$) is recovered as aqueous solution which absorbs $SiF_4$ produced from the manufacturing of industrial-graded $H_3PO_4$ or HF. Generally, fluosilicates prepared by the reaction between $H_2SiF_6$ and metal salts. Addition of fluosilicates to cement endows odd properties through unique chemical reaction with the fresh and hardened cement. Mix proportions for experiment were modulated at 0.45 of water to cement ratio and $0.0{\sim}2.0%$ of adding ratio of fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound. To evaluate correlation of concrete strength and adding ratio of fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound, the tests were performed about design strength(21, 24, 27 MPa) with 0.5% of adding ratio of fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound. Applications of fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound to reduce cracks resulted from plastic and drying shrinkage, to improve durability are presented in this paper. Durability was evaluated as neutralization, chloride ion penetration depth, freezing thawing resistant tests and weight loss according reinforcement corrosion. It is ascertained that the concrete added fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound showed m ability to reduce the total area and maximum crack width significantly as compared non-added concrete. In addition, the durability of concrete improved because of resistance to crack and watertightness by packing role of fluosilicate salt based inorganic compound obtained and pozzolanic reaction of soluble $SiO_2$ than non-added concrete.

Fluosilicic acid(H2SiF6) is recovered as an aqueous solution which absorbs $SiF_4$ produced from the manufacturing of industrial-graded H3PO4 or HF. Generally, fluosilicates are the salts produced by the reaction of H2SiF6 and metal salts. Addition of fluosilicates to cement endows odd properties through unique chemical reaction with the fresh and hardened cement. This study was performed to know mechanical properties and watertightness using fluosilicates based composite made from fluosilicates and other compounds. Mix proportions for experiments were modulated at 0.45 of water to cement ratio and $0.0-2.0\%$ of adding ratio of fluosilicates based composite. Evaluation for mechanical properties of concrete was conducted to know fresh state of concrete, hardening state of concrete, and watertightness. Evaluation for watertightness of concrete was carried out permeability, absorption test and porosity analysis. In addition. Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray(EDX) used for investigating micro-structure and atomic component distributed in hardened concrete. It is ascertained that characteristics of mechanical properties and watertightness was more improved than non-added because of packing role of fluosilicates based composite and pozzolanic reaction of soluble $SiO_2$. Also, concrete added fluosilicates based composite had a tendency to delay setting time and only $0.5\%$ addition of fluosilicates based composite delayed 150 minutes compared with non-added.

It is necessary to develop a new technology for effectively reducing hydration heat and controlling thermal cracking caused increasing construction of large size massive concrete structures such as mat foundation of high-rise building, grandiose bridge, and LNG tank. Therefor, to develop a new technology for reducing hydration heat of large size massive concrete in this study, after developing the latent heat binder for controling hydration heat of concrete by application of latent heat material, it was investigated basic properties and durability such as slump, air content and compressive strength, shrinkage properties, permeability, freezing and thawing resistance, corrosion, and hydration heat generation properties of concrete using latent heat binder. As a test result, it was confirmed that latent heat binder was not affected adversely the basic property and durability of concrete, and was advanced on the reduction of hydration heat and control of thermal crack. It is expected to be applied as the excellent technology on the management of hydration heat and thermal crack in large size mass concrete structures.
Objectives : The purpose of the research is to measure Dental Hygiene students' level of musculoskeletal pain before and after receiving scaling training which involves repetitive operations and examine effects the operations have on the students' grip and pinch strength. Methods : 15 subjects in Dental Hygiene at Y university located in Chungbuk were tested on November 2, 2011. Results : 12 students had a musculoskeletal pain before receiving scaling training. However, all the 15 students had a musculoskeletal pain after the training. Body part the largest number of the students complained of the pain on was shoulders(37.9%) followed by neck(20.8%), waist(13.9%), wrists(10.3%), then back(6.9%) before receiving the training. Then the result showed that shoulders are where the largest number of students(24.1%) felt the pain, followed by neck(17.2%), wrists and fingers(13.8%), waist(12.1%), back and lower arms(6.9%), then palms(5.2%) after the training. Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) increased to $6.35{\pm}2.09$ after receiving the training from $3.31{\pm}3.38$ and this shows statistically significant difference(p<.001). Upon inspection, average grip strength decreased to $23.23{\pm}5.79kg$ from $25.00{\pm}4.51kg$ after receiving the training and this shows statistically significant difference(p<.05). Key pinch was the strongest among the three pinch strengths followed by tripod pinch then tip pinch. Average of all the three pinch strengths showed to have statistically significant difference before and after the training(p<.05); Tip pinch from $6.53{\pm}1.36$ to $5.87{\pm}1.3$, key pinch from $13.47{\pm}2.5$ to $12.53{\pm}2.30$, and tripod pinch from $9.27{\pm}3.04$ to $8.03{\pm}2.72$. Conclusions : The result showed that scaling training has effects on Dental Hygiene students' musculoskeletal subjective symptoms and their grip and pinch strength changes after receiving the training.

In order to understand the economic feasibility of an offshore wind farm, this paper analyzed the differences in LCOE (levelized cost of energy) according to the support type and construction method of the substructure in terms of LCOE and sensitivity analysis was conducted according to the main components of LCOE. As for the site to be studied, the Southwest Offshore Wind Farm was selected, and the capital expenditures were calculated according to the size of the offshore wind farm and the installation unit. As a result of the sensitivity analysis, major components showed high sensitivity to availability, turbine related cost, weighted average cost of capital and balance of system related cost. Moreover, the post-piling jacket method, which was representatively applied to the substructure of the offshore wind farm in Korea, was selected as a basic plan to calculate the capital expenditures, and then the capital expenditures of the pre-piling jacket method and the tripod method were calculated and compared. As a result of analyzing the LCOE, it was confirmed that the pre-piling jacket method of the supporting structure lowers the LCOE and improves economic feasibility as the installation number of turbines increases.

This study aims to understand the applied forces and related vibrational characteristics of a tripod joint (TJ), which is mostly used in front-drive-type middle-sized sedans in South Korea. The plunging force (PF) and generated axial force (GAF) are the most influential quantities related to the vibrational characteristics of a driveshaft. To obtain meaningful data, specially designed tests were performed using MTS test sets. The results of direct measurements reveal that higher PF and GAF values appear to worsen the vibrational characteristics of the vehicle. On the other hand, the measured apparent mass is useful for calculating the applied forces for a short driveshaft that has no dynamic vibration absorber. Among diversely controlled samples, it shows that the viscosity and tight fit are very sensitive to shudder vibrations of the vehicle. Therefore, these are good design factors for quality controls in the production line of constant-velocity joints.
