  • In multicast environment, the main objective of group key management is to provide security services to group communications by sharing a single group key among all the members of the group and subsequently encrypting and decrypting all the communication messages exchanged among the members of the group. Up to now, there has been no effort to develop group key management mechanism that considers the rate of users' join/leave operations. Hence, in this research, we propose group key management mechanisms that consider the rate of user's join/leave operations. We also define a new tree structure called variable tree which is much more flexible than full regular trees and show that variable trees are more efficient than full regular trees for group key management. Especially, we propose an algorithm that minimizes the necessary number of rekey messages according to the rate of join and leave operations. We also shows that if the rate of leave operation is greater than 50%, then the tree structure with degrees 2 or 3 are the optimal structures.

  • This study was conducted to examine the domestic and foreign street tree creation and management system. This study examined the planning, creation, and management of street trees in Seoul, Korea, Lebanon, U.S.A, Yokohama, Japan, and Paris, France. Although the work system and perception of street trees differ depending on the national administration and cultural differences, major differences and characteristics could be examined. According to the research results, each country surveyed street trees through various methods and standards, and it was confirmed that an efficient work performance system was established with quantitative standards and devices to efficiently utilize them compared to Korea. There is a limitation in representing an entire country as only one local government was considered. In addition, since laws are revised and established according to changes and needs in society, it is necessary to conduct continuous research.

  • The Florence Charter, established in 1981 by the ICOMOS-IFLA International Commission on Historic Gardens, considered the historic garden as a plant-dominated architectural composition, a perpetual balance between the artist and the artisan's desire to remain unaltered in perpetuity. Trees, the main component of the garden, require continuous management as they repeat their creation and calling according to the cycle of the seasons and accordingly, it is suggested that management to maintain the appearance of trees in Korean palaces was an indispensable element. Although it is an important matter to historically verify the tree management techniques of the palaces of the past, research has been difficult due to the absence of historical records and the disconnection of life due to the Japanese colonial period. In addition, according to the view that trees were not generally managed in the palace, research on palace tree management techniques has not been conducted so far. Therefore, this study aimed to examine whether or not the tree management of the palaces was performed in the past through expert interviews based on photographs taken in modern times. With the identification of tree species and pruning through in-depth interviews with experts using photographs taken in the modern period, the results are as follows. First, it was found that the shapes of trees and leaves could be identified through photographs and by observing the phenomena caused by planting and pruning, it was possible to estimate whether or not the tree management was implemented in the modern palace. Second, as a result of in-depth interviews with 8 experts in 4 fields, it was possible to determine the tree species and pruning status, purpose, and method. There was no significant difference in opinions between groups, and the evidence was clearly presented. Third, the type of management of trees in the palace was mainly found to be determination of the types of tree, removal of hazardous factors of trees, and management of lower vegetation and through the photographs of Jondeokjeong and Gwanwanjeong, it was confirmed that the trees were managed even before the Japanese colonial era, considering the time of filming. Based on the photographs taken, it was possible to estimate whether the trees were managed before the Japanese colonial period through expert interviews. However, it could not be clarified due to lack of historical materials as to whether it was carried out on its own according to the circumstances of the times or by the Japanese Empire. Still, in this study, evidence was obtained to refute the view that trees of the palace were not managed in the past through the collected data. Expert opinions supporting this view were collected to make the conclusion. In addition, based on the general theory of pruning, an empirical review of expert opinions was conducted to secure the reliability of the research results.

  • Nonlinear rank statistics for the simple tree alternatives problem are considered. Pitman efficiencies between several procedures are studied. A new maximin procedure is suggested and shown to have good efficiency properties. Additionally, it is desirable to terminate the experiment early comparing well known rank statistics or multiple comparison test statistics.

  • Studies upto date for estimating the reliability by means of one accarate value contain risks of many erroneous options. The objective of this paper is to presents a fault tree analueis model on the basis of the membership functions of trape Zoidal fuzzy number after imposing an interval of Confidence on the residual possibility theory. The results from the model Show that the value of Stability was reliable.

  • The computational speed of interior point method depends on the speed of Cholesky factorization. The supernodal column Cholesky factorization is a fast method that performs Cholesky factorization of sparse matrices with exploiting computer's characteristics. Three steps are necessary to perform the supernodal column Cholesky factorization : symbolic factorization, creation of the elimination tree, ordering by a post-order of the elimination tree and creation of supernodes. We study performing sequences of these three steps and efficient implementation of them.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of batch processing of orders, where either a single order or a pair of orders which satisfies specific conditions may be grouped in the same batch. The objective of the problem is to minimize the number of batches formed to accommodate all orders. We prose an approach based on a Known algorithm proven to be optimal for special class of problems with tree structure and show the approach to have the worst case ratio of $2-{\frac{2}{n}}$
