There are many investment budget drafts in the filed of a road traffic safety. The traffic safety budget is spitted into following three major areas: 1) traffic safety facility (Engineering), 2) traffic enforcement (Enforcement), and 3) traffic safety education & public relation (Education). The three area are known as so-called 3E policy. This study investigates the effect of the investment in the 3E policy on the reduction of traffic accidents analyzing the data annually collected from the 15 local governments during 1992 to 2007. The analysis employing the traffic accidents as the dependent variable reveals that the effect of the investment is higher if same amount of investment is made on areas of the traffic safety education and public relation than the area of facility improvement. The similar conclusions are resulted from the separate investigation of traffic accidents data by 6 different types. All the results consistently indicate that the current traffic safety investment being primarily made on traffic safety facility needs to shift to the areas of traffic safety education and public relation budget.
The railway crossing is very dangerous because the track intersects with the road there. Thus, The laws were designed for safety of the railway crossing and they are classified as to the acts for the road and the railroad. For safety of the railway crossing, there are 'Road/Railroad Crossing Improvement Promotion Act', 'Enforcement Decree of Road/Railroad Crossing Improvement Promotion Act', 'Rules on Construction of Railroad', 'Rules on Safety Standards of Railroad Installations', and 'Enforcement Ordinance of Cable way/Railway Track Act' in the acts for the railroad and there are 'Road Traffic Act', 'Enforcement Ordinance of The Road Traffic Act', 'Ruled on Structure and Facility Standards of The Road', 'Rules on Structure And Facility Standards Of The Rural Road' and 'Rules on Structure and Facility Standards of The Installations for Bicycle' in the acts for the road. Both the acts for the road and the railroad have standards for the structure of the railway crossing. However, they have different standards. Besides, they don't have standards for new facilities which were recently installed for safety of the railway crossing. Therefore, we suggest new standards for safety of the railway crossing.
Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) is a facility that deposits an atomic layer on a wafer by causing a chemical reaction after decomposition using heat or plasma by inputting two or more gases during the semiconductor process. The main gas used at this time is NH3 (Ammonia). NH3 has a relatively narrow explosive range with an upper limit (UFL) of 33.6% and a lower limit (LEL) of 15%, but it can explode if a large amount suddenly gathers in one place. It is Velocity and fatal if inhaled or in contact with the skin. NH3 (Ammonia) of ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) facility is supplied to the chamber through the gas inlet and discharged after the reaction.
TOD(Transit Oriented Development) has recently been active, which presents that TOD planning elements should be comprehensively taken into consideration in order to enhance domestic transit ridership by changing environments in rail station areas and an empirical analysis on the type of rail station areas and transportation demand should be a prerequisite for usage of future development planning. This study aims to grasp a variety of TOD of influence factors in Seoul rail station area and to perform analysis to identify relationship between public transportation demand and these TOD design factors. To make it come true, we gathered data with respect to Density, Diversity, and Accessibility as representative TOD planning elements and carried out factorial and regression analysis. Consequently, we drew 7 influence factors base on factorial analysis: Factor 1(Diversity/ -Use Mix(LUM)), Factor 2(Density/development density), Factor 3(Accessibility/public transportation facility supply), Factor 4(Design/street design), Factor 5(Green/access mode (pedestrian, bike), Factor 6(Design/subway size), Factor 7(Accessibility/Public transit operation) As the result of model development by using factorial and regression analysis, positive influence factors on passenger flow in rail station area are Factor 1(Diversity : Land-Use Mix), Factor 3(Accessibility : public transportation facility supply), Factor 2(Density : development density), Factor 5(Design/ access mode) and Factor 6(subway size) Next, negative influence factor on passenger flow in rail station area shows Factor 7(Accessibility/Public transit operation) as the most influential factor. This is because the growth of service interval of linked subway and bus leads to reduced demand.

The national loss caused by the periodic livestock epidemic is very large. In addition, vehicle movement is the main cause of livestock epidemics in Korea. In this context, this study analyzed the relationship between the degree centrality of livestock facilities and the outbreak of infectious diseases. For this purpose, a livestock vehicle movement network was constructed using the facility entrance data provided by KAHIS. Afterwards, the centrality index was derived for each facility in the vehicle movement network and the mean centrality index of the epidemic and non-epidemic facilities were compared. The analysis results are summarized as follows. First, the degree centrality of epidemic facilities is significantly greater than non-epidemic facilities. As a result of the analysis of the entire period data and the period-based data, in most data, the degree centrality of facilities where livestock infectious diseases occurred was significantly greater than most non-occurrence facilities. Second, in the entire period data, the difference in degree centrality between the epidemic and non-epidemic facilities was smaller for HPAI than for FMD. On the other hand, no significant difference was found in the results of the analysis according to the divided period. The policy implications of the results are as follows. First, proactive management of facilities based on centrality is needed. Second, in the case of cloven-hoofed animal facilities, it is more urgent to introduce a management policy based on the degree centrality.

In this study, the effect of the social distance maintenance and pedestrian route system was analyzed for Seoul Station, one of the multi use facilities according to the COVID-19 pandemic. For analysis, the Seoul Station pedestrian network was established through the survey of the number of passengers and CAD floor plan. A pedestrian that maintaining Social Distance was implemented using the Social Force Model. Based on this, scenario analysis was proceed. As a result, when the walking line system was installed the average walking speed decreased compared to the current situation. but the average density was analyzed that maintain the walking level of service (LOS)'C', this mean walking line system is effective, and the effect of the walking line system was proved. It can be used as a pedestrian simulation model.
For the demand analysis of Metropolitan Train Express project, the catchment area of station should be reevaluated considering the journey speed of it. In this paper, we estimated travel mode choice model using stated preference data including Seoul metropolitan express train and compared the parameters of access/egress travel time between existing metro and Seoul metropolitan express train. The parameter of Seoul metropolitan express train is 2.5 times smaller than that of existing metro. Consequently, the catchment area can be expanded in same proportion. It can be concluded that the result of demand forecasting can be increased by 10% accommodating the expanded catchment area.
Establishing a public transportation transfer system that can reduce personal automobile use in the CBD and absorb the demand, thereby reducing congestion, is a necessity. However, the current transfer system and facilities are lacking in intermodal connectivity, require long transfer times, have complex flow patterns, and are lacking in information systems and convenience. The design analysis program of this study is to develop a program that executes computations of design analysis of transfer facilities by utilizing the existing design standards for facilities such as facilities for boarding and alighting, elements for convenience, and pedestrian facilities. Developing an analytical tool through which individual or integrated design analysis can be conducted on the design standards of various facilities is an important study for improving the work accuracy and efficiency of designing an actual transfer center.

In the past, various studies have been conducted on safety facility installation standards and road safety indices. But there are limitations in applying them to the field, such as using many survey items and variables that are difficult to use. Therefore, this study attempted to develop road safety judgment indicators considering the applicability of the research results and to prepare criteria for installing safety facilities. As part of the study, data of related systems were reviewed, and the use of variables already in use was figured out. Furthermore, the road safety judgment indicators reflecting traffic, road, and accident factors were developed through correlation and factor analysis. Later, the criteria score for determining the installation of safety facilities was derived through cluster analysis. The analyses suggested, that the installation judgment criterion score at the intersection was lower than that of the single road(crosswalk), and the road risk at the intersection was higher.

According to IAEA regulations, a transportation package of radioactive material should perform its intended function of containing the radioactive contents after the drop test, which is one of hypothetical accident conditions. Impact limiters attached to a transport cask absorb the most of impact energy. So, it is appreciated to determine properly the shape, size and material of impact limiters. A material data needed in this determination is a dynamic one. In this study, several materials considered as those of impact limiters were tested by a drop weight facility to acquire dynamic material characteristics data. Impact absorbing volume of the impact limiter was derived mathematically for each drop condition. A size optimization of impact limiter was conducted. The derived impact absorbing volumes were applied as constraints. These volumes should be less than critical volumes generated based on the dynamic material characteristics. The derived procedure to decide the shape of impact limiter can be useful at the preliminary design stage when the transportation package's outline is roughly determined and applied as input value.
