Copper is a promising electronic material due to low cost and high electrical conductivity. However, the oxidation problem in an ambient condition makes a crucial issue in practical applications. In here, we developed a simple and cost-effective Cu patterning method on a flexible PET film by combining a solution processable Cu nanoparticle patterning and a low temperature post-processing using acetic acid treatment, laser sintering process and acid-assisted laser sintering process. Acid-assisted laser sintering processed Cu electrode showed superior characteristics in electrical, mechanical and chemical stability over other post-processing methods. Finally, the Cu electrode was applied to the flexible electronics applications such as flexible and transparent heaters and touch screen panels.
Glasses in the $Bi_{2}O_3-SiO_2-ZnO$ glasses system were examined as a potential replacement for lead-oxide glass frits with low firing temperature ($500\sim600^{\circ}C$) for the dielectric layer of a plasma display panel (PDP). The glasses were evaluated for glass transition temperature($T_{g}$) and thermal expansion coefficient(${\alpha}$). After forming transparent thick films by a screen-printing method, it was evaluated for the optical properties. The transmittance of thick films fired at $500-600^{\circ}C$ showed above $80\%$, which was not dependent on the firing temperature. As a result, many pores were observed at samples fired at low temperature, while the number of pores from samples prepared at high temperature decreased and the pores size increased.
Indium (In) is widely used for transparent electrodes of photovoltaics as a form of indium tin oxide (ITO) due to its superior characteristics of environmental stability, relatively low electrical resistivity and high transparency to visible light. However, In has been worn off in proportion to growth the In related market, and it leads to raise of price. Although In is obtained from ITO target scarps, much harmful elements are used for the recycling process. To decrease of harmful elements, ITO swarf particles obtained from target scraps was characterized whether it is feasible to transparent conductive oxide (TCO). The ITO swarf was crushed with milling process, and it was mixed with new ITO nanoparticles. The mixed particles were well dispersed into ink solvent to make-up an ink, and it was well coated onto glass substrate. After heat-treatment at $400^{\circ}C$ under $N_2$ rich environments, optical transmittance at 550 nm and sheet resistance of the ITO ink coated layer was 71.6% and $524.67{\Omega}/{\square}$, respectively. Therefore, it was concluded that the ITO swarf was feasible to TCO of touch screen panel.
This study demonstrates the coating effect of carbon nanotubes on metal meshes, which have been made with various line-spaces and line-width, for touch screen panels. The CNTs have been deposited on metal meshes via electrophoretic deposition (EPD). The sheet resistances, visible transmittances, visible reflectances have been measured before and after electrophoretic deposition. The experimental results confirm that CNT coating metal meshes with various line-spaces and line width can satisfy the requirements that are required for transparent electrodes of touch screen panels.

The color difference between original and printed copy is affected mainly by ink trapping and optical properties of overprinted ink layer. Since the general expression itself about ink trapping is affected also by the optical properties, the analysis of color difference using the ink trapping only cannot be certain. This study will show a new approaching method for optical analysis of spectral reflectance and the effect of printing sequence on color difference in multi-color overprints under the condition of excluding completely the ink trapping problems by means of using transparent film as a substrate.
Nano-sized materials can be coated on various substrates, and since this material is transparent and conductive, it can be used as a transparent electrode for electronic devices or an electrode for power supply. In this study, CNT and Ag nanowires were repeatedly coated using the silk screen technique, and samples formed up to 5 times were fabricated, and their optical and electrical properties were measured and analyzed. It was confirmed that marks were formed on the surface of the silkscreen-coated sample according to the coating direction, and the trend of transmittance and surface resistance according to the number of times of coating was investigated. As the number of coatings increased, transmittance and surface resistance tended to decrease. In particular, in the case of transmittance, the range of change was large in the samples coated 2 and 5 times. These changes were confirmed by the Ag nanowire coating. In addition, starting from 700 nm, the previous wavelength region increased according to the wavelength, while the above showed a tendency to decrease. The surface resistance was lowered from 9Ω/cm2 when coating once to 0.856Ω/cm2 when coating five times. It was found that the resistance value was affected by Ag similarly to the permeability. In the future, it is necessary to realize a desired transparent electrode through Ag concentration and coating of Ag nanowires with other methods and fusion with highly transparent CNT to apply to electronic devices.

In this paper, we propose a film-type dual-band frequency selective structure for improving the wireless communication environment in a building. The proposed frequency-selective structure is a miniaturized structure that can control the resonant frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual band through simple design parameters. We fabricated the frequency-selective surface by screen printing using conductive ink on a thin transparent film and confirmed its performance by measurement. We analyzed the attenuation performance of the unnecessary signal from the outside when the frequency-selective structure designed using the software to analyze the propagation environment performance is applied to the building. To verify the analytical results, the signal strength of the indoor environment was measured by applying the frequency-selective film fabricated on the inner wall of the actual building. The measurement results show that the dual-band frequency-selective film has 29.4 dB and 15.94 dB attenuation performance in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, respectively.

In this study, we investigated the electrical, optical, structural, and surface properties of indium zinc oxide (IZO)/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode grown by specially designed roll-to-roll sputtering system using the flexible substrate. By the continuous roll-to-roll sputtering of the bottom IZO, Ag, and top IZO layers at room temperature, they were able to fabricate a high quality IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode. At optimized conditions, the bottom IZO layer (40 nm) was deposited on a flexible substrate. After deposition of the Bottom IZO layer, Ag layer was deposited onto the bottom IZO film as a function of DC power (200~500 W). Subsequently, the top IZO layer was deposited onto the Ag layer at identical deposition conditions to the bottom IZO layer (40 nm). We investigated the characteristics of IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode as a function of Ag thickness. It was found that the electrical and optical properties of IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode was mainly affected thickness of the Ag layer at optimized condition. In case of IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode with the Ag power (350W), it exhibited a low sheet resistance of 7.1 ohm/square and a high transparency of 86.4%. Furthermore, we fabricated the touch screen panel using the IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode, which demonstrate the possibility of the IZO/Ag/IZO multilayer electrode grown by roll-to-roll sputtering system as a transparent conducting layer in the touch screen panel.

This study demonstrates hybrid-type transparent electrodes for touch screen panels. The hybrid-type electrodes were fabricated by coating carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on metal meshes. To form the metal-meshes, thin films of silver (Ag) were deposited on glass substrates using the sputtering method and then patterned via photolithography to obtain mesh structures whose line width was $10{\mu}m$ and line-to-line spacing was $300{\mu}m$. CNTs were coated on Ag-meshes by using two different methods, such as spray coating and electrophoretic deposition (EPD). For the samples of a Ag-meshes and CNTs-coated Ag-meshes, their surface morphologies, electrical sheet resistances, and visible-range transmittances and reflectances were characterized and compared. The experimental results indicated that the reflectance of Ag-mesh electrodes was substantially reduced by coating of CNTs. Especially, the hybrid electrodes of Ag-meshes with EPD-coated CNTs showed excellent properties such as sheet resistance lower than $20{\Omega}/{\Box}$, transmittance higher than 90 %, and reflectance lower than 8%.
