Kriging Regressive Deep Belief WSN-Assisted IoT for Stable Routing and Energy Conserved Data Transmission

  • With the evolution of wireless sensor network (WSN) technology, the routing policy has foremost importance in the Internet of Things (IoT). A systematic routing policy is one of the primary mechanics to make certain the precise and robust transmission of wireless sensor networks in an energy-efficient manner. In an IoT environment, WSN is utilized for controlling services concerning data like, data gathering, sensing and transmission. With the advantages of IoT potentialities, the traditional routing in a WSN are augmented with decision-making in an energy efficient manner to concur finer optimization. In this paper, we study how to combine IoT-based deep learning classifier with routing called, Kriging Regressive Deep Belief Neural Learning (KR-DBNL) to propose an efficient data packet routing to cope with scalability issues and therefore ensure robust data packet transmission. The KR-DBNL method includes four layers, namely input layer, two hidden layers and one output layer for performing data transmission between source and destination sensor node. Initially, the KR-DBNL method acquires the patient data from different location. Followed by which, the input layer transmits sensor nodes to first hidden layer where analysis of energy consumption, bandwidth consumption and light intensity are made using kriging regression function to perform classification. According to classified results, sensor nodes are classified into higher performance and lower performance sensor nodes. The higher performance sensor nodes are then transmitted to second hidden layer. Here high performance sensor nodes neighbouring sensor with higher signal strength and frequency are selected and sent to the output layer where the actual data packet transmission is performed. Experimental evaluation is carried out on factors such as energy consumption, packet delivery ratio, packet loss rate and end-to-end delay with respect to number of patient data packets and sensor nodes.

플랜지 플렉시블 우레탄카 커플링 개발 (Development of Flange Flexible Urethane-key Coupling)

  • The study was aimed at developing a power transmission coupling that is possible to transfer power without any trouble even if the two rotating shafts are making minute misalignment. The coupling that has been developed is Flange Flexible Urethane-key Coupling that connects two shafts by flanges with Urethane-key. A model coupling for use in transmitting power of 10hp was made and undergone performance evaluation and tests. Property and usefulness was proved through the test. The performance evaluation has demonstrated a property of $11.25Kgf{\cdot}m$ of allowable torque and 28.25hp of power at 1,80Orpm, which was found to be superior compared to the performance of similar couplings. Based on the performance test, study was made also for improving the shape of the Urethane-key and was successful to make the flange in smaller outside diameter. Further application test at site has proved that the product is easy to install and maintain, and has property of absorbing minute misalignment between two shafts and vibration caused there from.

  • As a way to build more efficient and intelligent container cranes for todays hub ports, communication networks are used to interconnect numerous sensors, actuators, controllers, and operator switches and consoles that are spatially distributed over a crane. Various signals such as sensor values and operator's commands are digitized and broadcast on the network instead of using separate wiring cables. This not only makes the design and manufacturing of a crane more efficient, but also easier implementation of intelligent control algorithms. This paper presents the performance evaluation of CAN(Controller Area Network), TTP(Time Triggered Protocol) and Byteflight that can be used for cranes. Through discrete event simulation, several important quantitative performance factors such as the probability of a transmission failure, average system delay (data latency) and maximum system delay have been evaluated.

  • The effects of paper properties such as density, air permeability, water vapor transmission rate on the thermal performance of plate-type enthalpy exchanger were experimentally investigated. Three enthalpy exchanger samples having different properties were made, and were tested according to the standard test procedure (KS B 6879). Effective efficiencies were defined, which accounted for the air leakage between supply and exhaust streams. Results showed that paper density affected the sensible heat transfer of the samples. Sensible heat transfer increased with density of the paper. It was also shown that water vapor transmission rate alone was not a proper indicator for the efficiency of latent heat transfer. Air permeability should also be considered for adequate evaluation of the latent heat transfer. Best performance was obtained for the sample having highest paper density and moderate water vapor transmission ratio.

  • 현재 셀룰러 이동통신 시스템이 직면한 가장 큰 문제인 데이터 트래픽 폭증 수용문제를 효율적으로 해결하기 위한 방안으로써 스몰셀 및 단말간 통신 등 다양한 기술 등이 제안되고 있다. 이러한 데이터 트래픽 폭증 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안중 하나로써 기지국의 전송 파워를 서비스 받는 단말로 집중시키는 방향성 전송이 고려되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 셀룰러 이동통신 시스템에서 방향성 전송을 고려한 시스템 레벨 시뮬레이터를 개발하였고 방향성 전송이 사용될 때의 어려움 중 하나인 간섭 예측을 해결하기 위한 새로운 간섭 예측방안을 제안하였다. 본 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 제안된 적응적 간섭 예측 방안의 성능을 확인하였고 방향성 전송이 셀룰러 이동통신 시스템에서 활용될 때의 성능을 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 방향성 전송이 셀룰러 이동통신 시스템의 수율을 130% 이상 향상시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

  • This paper analyses the real-time performance of Ethernet based intranet whether it is applicable to the real-time network. Unpredictability of transmission delay by collision-delay-retransmission mechanism in CAMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detect) of Ethernet is the major reason making hard to apply to real-time system. Both retransmission mechanism of TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) for reliability and sliding windows algorithm for high utilization make hard to predict transmission delay.   • The military has been putting great efforts into applying data communication on existing voice communication systems being used in NCW(Network Centric Warfare). Data communication will be an effective choice in one of many effort to yield a minimum kill chain, comparing to legacy voice communications, when tactical units conduct their missions. However, the required budget will be enormous, in case of the replacement of a lot of legacy communication systems with new one. As a cost-effective alternative, the tactical data communication systems using the conventional radio systems instead of the development of new radio systems has been proposed. It is mandatory, though, to ensure QoS while maintaining data communication by making use of legacy radio systems already in use. This paper focuses on the performance issues experimented and analyzed for tactical data communication through the legacy radio systems as the first step towards guaranteed QoS. We have conducted various experiments such as the transmission error rate on certain tactical messages, performance evaluation of redundant transfers, the relationship between the transmission frame size and rate of error, the identification of error points in the transmission frame, and techniques to reduce the errors in both hopping and non-hopping modes. As a result of the performance experiments, The adaptive communication module which decides the redundant transmission or the Forward Error Correction(FEC) technique by analyzing channel status and current transmission status(hopping/non-hopping) of the legacy radio should be designed. the FEC technique in non-hopping, and the redundant transmission technique in hopping mode was recommended from the result of experiment with the frame size is 20bytes in non-hopping and 10Bytes frame size in hopping mode.

  • 자동차 사이에서의 통신을 위한 VANET은 안전운전과 교통정보 및 인터넷의 편리한 접속을 제공하기 위한 차세대 통신 기술 중 하나이다. VANET에 TCP/IP 대신 CCN 기술을 적용한 VCCN의 경우 일대일 통신 뿐 아니라 여러 사용자가 주변 교통흐름이나 교통사고 같은 공통적인 관심 정보를 요청하는 경우 중간 노드의 캐싱을 통한 효율적인 멀티캐스팅이 가능하다. 본 논문은 교통흐름 실험을 위한 SUMO, 자동차 무선 네트워크인 VANET, 차세대 네트워크 중 하나인 CCN등을 소개하고 이를 이용하여 VCCN 상에서 이동중인 자동차에서 공통의 콘텐츠를 요청한 경우 데이터의 수신 성능과 네트워크의 특성을 분석한다. SUMO를 이용한 VCCN 네트워크 시뮬레이션 결과에 따르면, 크기가 큰 패킷을 사용하는 경우 전송 성능이 우수하며, VCCN은 TCP/IP 네트워크와 달리 동일한 콘텐츠를 요청하는 경우 물리적인 대역폭 이상으로 데이터의 송수신이 가능하다.

Performance Evaluation of Vehicle-mounted Mobile Relay in Next Generation Cellular Networks

  • Compared to nomadic and fixed relay stations, vehicle-mounted mobile relay stations show different characteristics caused by the time-variant topology, due to their mobility. Especially, a relay mounted in a vehicle is differentiated from nomadic or fixed relay by the restricted distance between the relay and associated mobile station and the variable density of relay deployment in a cell. In this paper, we identify the characteristics of vehicle-mounted mobile relay stations and provide some parameters that highly influence the performance of vehicle-mounted relay. Through simulation, we measure the effect of relay density, zone ratio, relay transmission power, and frame transmission mode on the performance of vehicle-mounted relay. The results show that the performance of vehicle-mounted relay is highly susceptible to the above vehicle-mounted relay-specific parameters.
