A bacterium that produce biopolymer was isolated from Gochujang, one of Korean traditional fermented foods, and identified as Bacillus licheniformis. The production of biopolymer was highest and 34mg/250ml, when the baterium was cultivated in condition of sucrose 6.0%, Yeast extract 0.1%, peptone 0.l%, NaCl 3.0%, and pH 6.0. The 1% solution of this biopolymer was able to form a translucent and glossy film. And the solution of biopolymer was found to precipitate Kaolin solution and also stabilize the suspension of lactic acid bacteria within the test range of 0.25-1.00%. The electron micrographs of the larval brain of the silkworm. Bembyx mori. show that median neurosecretory cell of diapause-egg producer may participate in the production of lipo-granules and that of non-diapause egg producer may do in the production of electron-translucent vesicles. It was found that ribosome-like particles of diapause-egg producer gradually developed into highly dense particles and came into line along the smooth-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum. They finally became lipo-granules.

A computer vision system was built to generate images of a stationary egg. This system includes a. CCD camera, a frame grabber, and an incandescent back lighting system An image processing algorithm was developed to accurately detect surface holes and surface cracks on eggs. With 20W of incandescent back light, the detection rate was shown to be the highest. The Sobel operator was found to be the best among various enhancing filters examined. The threshold value to distinguish between the crack and the translucent spots was found to be linear with the average gray level of a whole egg image. Those values of both gray level and area were used as criteria to detect holes in egg and those values of both area and roundness were used to detect cracks in egg. For a sample of 300 eggs, this system was able to correctly analyze an egg for the presence of a defect 97.5% of the time. On the average, it took 59.5 seconds to analyze an egg image and determine whether or not it was defected.

Korean Paintings have been drawn on in the main two types of support material - paper and silk. In these things, silk designates picture silk, that of a specially weaved textile for painting since CHO-SUN dynasty, different such as hemp, ramie have been started to use for support material In addition to picture silk. However the structure of hemp and ramie are so close and progue, They are not proper to express the technique of pigments on the back of the paintings. On the other hand, picture silk is efficacious in pigments on the back of the painting with its interval between the strands and translucent textile. As the result, paintings on the silk has many - sided techniques as compared with painting on the papers therfore various devices in conservation have to be considered to deal with the techniques. In this report the focus is on classifying the method of removing the Lining paper according to the several types of expression technique of paintings on the silk.

An aeolid nudibranch species Flabellina athadona (Bergh, 1875) is newly recorded from Korean waters. This species is distinguished from other congeneric species by the following characteristics: translucent white body, deep orange colored digestive glands, plenty of white specks, and a reversed Y-shaped marking on the head between rhinophores and oral tentacles. In this report, we also provide an identification key for the genus Flabellina in Korea, photographs, and diagnostic characteristics of F. athadona. Molecular identification using mtDNA cox1 partial sequences is also provided to help differentiate F. athadona from some of its closely related congeneric species.

The present status and trend of oxide phosphor thin-film development for thin-film electroluminescent (TFEL) device application are presented in this paper. Recently, several newly developed types of bendable or bendable see-through oxide TFEL lamps have been fabricated using the TFEL technology with a newly developed bendable ceramic sheet, glass sheet or sapphire sheet substrate, which has become available on the market. Stable operation at high temperatures was obtained in double-insulating-layer-type TFEL lamps fabricated with a $Zn_2Si_{0.6}Ge_{0.}4O_4$:Mn thin-film emitting layer forming on translucent or transparent bendable sheet substrates.

For investigation of the Korean ciliate fauna, two oxytrichid ciliates, Histriculus histrio (Muller, 1773) and Sterkiella thompsoni Foissner, 1996, were collected from freshwater and brackish waters in South Korea, respectively. These two ciliates are reported for the first time in Korea. Descriptions were based on observations of live and silver stained specimens. Diagnoses of these species are as follows. Histriculus histrio: body is approximately $190{\times}85\;{\mu}m$ in size, almost ellipsoidal in shape, posterior part rather thin and very translucent. Cortical granules are absent. Both marginal rows are almost confluent at the posterior end. Six dorsal kineties are present. Sterkiella thompsoni: body is approximately $140{\times}50\;{\mu}m$ in size. Body margins are usually in parallel. Cortical granules are absent. Invariably, four dorsal kineties are present. Two caudal cirri are located on the dorsal surface. Three ellipsoidal macronuclear nodules are present.

This paper purports to find the characteristics of blue costumes as expressed in modern fashion. As such, we made an empirical analysis, using 436 works from 2006 S/S through 2010 F/W collections. Result indicated that modernness was emphasized by applying a minimum expressive technique to items of a simple form, and an image of simplicity was emphasized by placing focus on the rational color image of blue. Second, images of blue, such as trust, stability, and success were expressed as refined elegance through the combination of tight silhouettes, glossy and translucent materials, and indirect exposure. Third, natural image was expressed through natural silhouettes, soft or natural materials, gradation of various tones, and natural motif decorations as well as the color itself. Fourth, dynamic image was expressed by introducing fashion items, mostly worn by men only, to simple and tight forms or through the inspiration of a masculine fashion image. Fifth, abstinent image was expressed by using an image of religious apparel or symbols, covering up the body, minimizing details, and using a dark blue tone.

A 14-year-old virgin, female Yorkshire Terrier showed enlarged abdomen after udderectomy was diagnosed with canine mammary gland tumor accompanied with hydrometra. Gross findings appeared a white-yellowish $l0{\times}7{\times}7cm sized solid mass containing cysts filled with various colored mucoid fluids in the udder. Both uteri were distended greatly with white-yellowish watery fluids and their serosal surfaces were translucent. Characteristic micyoscopic findings in the mass of the udder showed great expansion of the mammary lobule and stroma and complete replacement of the glandular elements by prolifaration of myoepithelial cells. The mucosa of the uterus showed severe atrophy of the uterine epithelium.

SNS 사용량이 증가하고, 여러 촬영 기기들이 발달하면서 사진 촬영은 일상적인 일이 되었다. 많은 사람들은 스쳐 지나가는 순간들을 사진으로라도 간직하고자 수없이 셔터를 누르게 된다. 또한 마음에 드는 사진을 찍을 때 까지 끊임없이 촬영을 하게 된다. 이러한 현대인들의 문화에 발 빠르게 대응하지 못한 채, 기존 카메라 애플리케이션들은 다량의 필터 제공에만 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이에 대해 사진 촬영 시 좀 더 현실적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 사진 촬영 보조 기술을 개발하고자 한다.
