  • The determination of camera position and orientation from known correspondences of 3D reference points and their images is known as pose estimation in computer vision or space resection in photogrammetry. This paper discusses estimation of transform parameters using the pattern matching method with 2D images only. In general, the 3D reference points or lines are needed to find out the 3D transform parameters, but this method is applied without the 3D reference points or lines. It uses only two images to find out the transform parameters between two image. The algorithm is simulated using Visual C++ on Windows 98.

  • Hough transform is a representative algorithm for detecting straight lines in an edge image. It corresponds the parameters of straight lines that may occur in the edge pixel into a parameter space, and detects valid parameters satisfying a given condition as straight lines. In general Hough transform, the parameters of the line are calculated with the image origin as the reference point. However, in this paper, the Hough transform based on the image center as a reference point is performed and its performance is compared and analyzed with the conventional Hough transform.

  • This paper presents a method for registering images using phase correlation technique in fourier domain, hough transform and multi-resolution wavelet. To register images, source and input images are transformed to wavelet domain. An angular transition can be obtained by applying hough transform technique followed by phase correlation. Then we apply phase correlation technique to find x-axis and y-axis transition. We apply wavelet transform to reduce processing time and also use its coefficients as edge information instead of canny detector. With multi-resolution property of wavelet transform, registration time can be greatly reduced. After we get all transition parameters, we transform the input images according to these parameters. Then, we compose and blend all images into a new large image with details of all source images. From our experiment, we can find the accurate transition both x-y translation and angular transition with less error.

  • In this study, the image processing program for deducing parameters of the elliptic shape of the partially overlapped liquid droplets was developed using the randomized Hough transform and the parameter decomposition. The procedure for the shape detection consists of three steps. For the first step, the candidate centers of ellipses are determined by the geometric property of the ellipse. Next, the rest parameters are estimated by the randomized Hough transform. In the final step for the post-processing, optimally approximated parameters of ellipses are determined. The developed program was applied to the simulated overlapped ellipses, real overlapped droplets, and real spray droplets. The shape detection was very excellent unless there existed inherent problems in original images. Moreover, this method can be used as an effective separating method for the overlapped small particles.

  • In this paper, a direct identification of modal parameters using the continuous wavelet transform is proposed. The purpose of this method is to transform the differential equations of motion into a system of algebraic linear equations whose unknown coefficients are modal parameters. The efficiency of the present method is confirmed by numerical data, without and with noise contamination, simulated from a discrete forced system with four degrees-of-freedom (4DOF) proportionally damped.

  • New formulas for McClellan transform parameters for the design of 2-D Zero-phase FIR fan filters are optimally derived under the integral squared error(ISE) criterion. By imposing the constraint that F(0,0)=coswc, where F($.$) is the McClellan transform and w is the cutoff frequency of the 1-D prototype filter, the ISE is directly minimized without modifying it and, as a consequence, closed-form formulas for the McClellan transform parameters are obtained. It is shows that these formulas lead to a very efficient design for 2-D zero-phase FIR fan filters.

  • New formulas for McClellan transform parameters for the design of 2-D zero-phase FIR fan filters are optimally derived under the integral squared error(ISE) criterion. By imposing the constraint that F(0, 0)=\ulcorner, where F($.$) is the McClellan transform and $\omega$\ulcorner is the cutoff frequency of the 1-D prototype filter, the ISE is directly minimized without modifying it and, as a consequence, closed-form formulas for the McClellan transform parameters are obtained. It is shown that these formulas lead to a very efficient design for 2-D zero-phase FIR fan filters.
