ATM에서 가상 스위치를 이용한 흐름 제어 방식의 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis of Flow Control Method Using Virtual Switchs on ATM)

  • ATM(Asychronous Transfer Mode) 표준에서 제안된 EMRCA(Explicit Max_min Rate Control Algorithm) 스위치 방식은 ATM 네트워크에서 ABR(Available Bit Rate) 서비스 트래픽을 제어한다. ATM 네트워크의 ABR 서비스 분류는 다양한 링크 용량에 적용하기 위하여 피드백 제어 방식을 사용한다. VS/VD(Virtual Source/Virtual Destination) 기법은 다른 종단간 ABR 제어 루프를 격리된 루프들로부터 분리할 수 있도록 해준다. 피드백 지연과 내부적으로 폐쇄된 구간을 갖는 ABR 트래픽 제어는 처리량, 지연 그리고 지터 등을 고려한 ABR 접속에 있어서 보다 나은 성능과 QoS(Quality of Service)를 제공한다. 본 논문은 ABR VS/VD 흐름 제어 방식에 관한 연구이다. 매개변수를 정확하게 선택하고 시스템의 안정성과 같은 성능을 평가하는 수단을 제공하기 위하여 선형 제어 이론을 사용하여 모델링 하였다. 성능 개선의 목적은 높은 링크 이용율과 공정한 대역폭 분배 그리고 안정된 동작등이며 이는 이산 사건 시뮬레이션을 하였다. 본 논문에서는 VS/VD 스위치의 특수한 레이아웃에 맞춘 ABR 흐름 제어 방식의 설계에 선형 제어 이론을 사용한 것이며 시뮬레이션을 하여 기존의 폭주 제어 방식보다 우수함을 보였다.

Arterial Switch Operation in Patients with Intramural Coronary Artery: Early and Mid-term Results

  • Background: The intramural coronary artery has been known as a risk factor for early death after an arterial switch operation (ASO). We reviewed the morphological characteristics and evaluated the early and mid-term results of ASO for patients with an intramural coronary artery. Materials and Methods: From March 1994 to September 15th 2010, 158 patients underwent ASO at Dong-A and Pusan National University Hospitals for repair of transposition of the great arteries and double outlet right ventricle. Among these patients, 14 patients (8.9%) had an intramural coronary artery. Mean age at operation was $13.4{\pm}10.2$ days (4 to 39 days) and mean body weight was $3.48{\pm}0.33$ kg (2.88 to 3.88 kg). All patients except one were male. Eight patients had TGA/IVS and 4 patients had an aortic arch anomaly. Two patients (14.3%) had side-by-side great artery relation, of whom one had an intramural right coronary artery and the other had an intramural left anterior descending coronary artery. Twelve patients had anterior-posterior relation, all of whom had an intramural left coronary artery (LCA). The aortocoronary flap technique was used in coronary transfer in 8 patients, of whom one patient required a switch to the individual coronary button technique 2 days after operation because of myocardial ischemia. An individual coronary button implantation technique was adopted in 6, of whom 2 patients required left subclavian artery free graft to LCA during the same operation due to LCA injury during coronary button mobilization and LCA torsion. Results: There was 1 operative death (7.1%), which occurred in the first patient in our series. This patient underwent an aortocoronary flap procedure for coronary transfer combining aortic arch repair. Overall operative mortality for 144 patients without an intramural coronary artery was 13.2% (19/144). There was no statistical difference in operative mortality between the patients with and without an intramural coronary artery (p>0.1). There was no late death. The mean follow-up duration was $52.1{\pm}43.0$ months (0.5 to 132 months). One patient who had a subclavian artery free graft required LCA stenting 6.5 years after surgery for LCA anastomotic site stenosis. No other surviving patient needed any intervention for coronary problems. All patients had normal ventricular function at latest echocardiography and were in NYHA class 1. Conclusion: The arterial switch operation in Transposition of Great Arteries or Double Outlet Right Ventricle patients with intramural coronary can be performed with low mortality; however, there is a high incidence of intraoperative or postoperative coronary problems, which can be managed with conversion to the individual coronary button technique and a bypass procedure using a left subclavian free graft. Both aortocoronary flap and individual coronary button implantation techniques for coronary transfer have excellent mid-term results.

자율운전에 의한 계통연계형 도서의 저압 무순단 마이크로그리드 구축 (Development of Low-voltage Seamless Transfer Microgrid on Grid-connected Type Islands by Autonomous Operation)

  • This paper presents research on low-voltage microgrids to maintain a continuous power supply to critical loads on grid-connected islands in Korea. The low-voltage microgrids of this paper focused on that changes public office buildings into uninterrupted microgrids by autonomous operation. For this, a microgrid controller (MGC) and a power conditioning system (PCS) that allow a seamless transfer between grid-connected and grid-isolated operation are proposed. The proposed PCS operates with a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) switch and employs a simple structure. It supplies power continuously without operators through a coordinated operation between MGC and PCS. In addition, proposed MG has a schedule operation for minimizing electricity charges and provides ancillary services that enable the utilization of resources according to the operation purpose of utility distribution networks. To demonstrate the uninterrupted low-voltage microgrid proposed in this study, a microgrid was implemented and tested in a public office building in Anjwa Island, Jeollanam-do in Korea. A seamless, autonomous operation history, despite system disturbances, was obtained through a long-term demonstration of operation. The results showed that the proposed microgrid technology can be used to achieve energy resilience in grid-connected island areas.

공기 부상방식 이송시스템의 추진 노즐 배치방법에 따른 웨이퍼 이송 속도 평가 (Evaluation of a Wafer Transportation Speed for Propulsion Nozzle Array on Air Levitation System)

  • Automated material handling system is being used as a method to reduce manufacturing cost in the semiconductor and flat panel displays (FPDs) manufacturing process. Those are considering switch-over from the traditional cassette system to single-substrate transfer system to reduce raw materials of stocks in the processing line. In the present study, the wafer transportation speed has been evaluated by numerical and experimental method for three propulsion nozzle array (face, front, rear) in an air levitation system. Test facility for 300 mm wafer was equipped with two control tracks and a transfer track of 1,500mm length. The diameter of propulsion nozzle is 0.8mm and air velocity of wafer propulsion is $50\sim150m/s$. We found that the experimental results of the wafer transportation speed were well agreed with the numerical ones. Namely, the predicted values of the maximum wafer transportation speed are higher than those values of experimental data by 16% and the numerical result of the mean wafer transportation speed is higher than the experimental result within 20%.

경량전철용 유도급전 시스템의 전자파 분석 연구 (A Study on the Electro-magnetic Wave of Inductive Power Transfer System for Light Railway Transit)

  • Traction motors for driving and power conversion devices using semiconductor switch are equipped with a transportation systems such as an electrical railway system. Power conversion devices have the possibility of malfunction by external electromagnetic waves. As a result, these could affect the safe operation of the railway. Moreover, the electromagnetic waves above safe limits will be harmful to the passengers inside the railway vehicles or anyone working around the rail-track. For this reason, the importance and need about the reliability check and complement of electromagnetic waves generated from the IPT(Inductive Power Transfer) system have been suggested for the safe application of the IPT system to the railway system. In this study, prediction for the electromagnetic wave properties was conducted through FEM(Finite Element Method) analysis of 5kW-class IPT system design model. Next, the 5kW IPT system prototype was made and then the small-scaled railway vehicle was made to mount the IPT system and the energy management system. Finally, the electromagnetic waves generated from the real small-scaled IPT system were measured and analyzed, and then the reliability check of predictions by FEM analysis were carried out.

  • The Asynchronous Transfer Mode(ATM) networks are being adopted as backbones over various parts of Internet. Also, TCP is one of the most widespread transport protocols, nowadays. It can be used with ATM. But, TCP shows poor end-to-end performance on ATM networks. Effective throughput of TCP over ATM can be quite low when cells are dropped at the congested ATM switch. The low throughput is due to wasted bandwidth as congested link transmits cells from corrupted packets. This paper examines the behavior of TCP over ATM-UBR using EPD switch in a broadband environment. With a threshold close to the buffer size, the buffer can be used more efficiently, but more drops and retransmission occurs. If the threshold is much less than buffer size, efficient is not good, but few drops can happen. Therefore, decision of the threshold is important.

통신위성 전력제어 및 분배장치 설계 및 해석

  • 본 연구는 통신위성 전력제어장치(Power control&Distribution Unit)의 설계 및 해석에 관한 내용을 기술한다. 위성체 전력제어장치는 임무기간동안 각 서브시스템과 탑재체에 충분한 전력을 공급하여야 하며, 또한 우주환경 하에서 높은 신뢰성 및 성능이 요구된다. 전력제어 및 분배장치의 제어회로를 위해 버스전압검출 및 필터회로, 오차신호 증폭회로 그리고 SAS 및 BPC 오차신호 회로가 포함되었다. 설계된 제어보상회로에 대한 주파수 응답특성분석을 통해 각 회로의 위상여유와 이득이 분석되었다. 또한 배터리 충/방전을 위한 BPC회로 분석을 통해 배터리 충전 연속모드, 배터리 방전 연속/불연속 모드에서의 입출력 전달함수가 제시되었다.

무선 ATM LAN 시스템에서 이동 단말에 의한 핸드오버 제어 기법 (Handover Control Scheme Initiated by the Mobile Terminal in Wireless ATM LAN System)

  • This paper propose a novel scheme, called Mobiel Terminal Initiated Scheme(MTIS), in which mobile terminal initiates the backward handover by sending handover request message with the list of target radio ports. In this scheme, the old ATM switch suporting end-user mobility, denoted by EMAS\ulcorner, checks whether each EMAS\ulcorner, managing the target radio port, has its available resources. If it has, the EMAS\ulcorner performs the path rerouting between CrossOver Switch (COS) and itself after deciding the most suitable target radio port. Therefore, the MT initiates the handover after deciding the most suitable target radio port through the beacon signal of Wireless Access Point (WAP). The EMAS\ulcorner have only to check the resource availability of the target radio port. It is no need to waste time to decide the suitable target radio port. Also, once receiving the request of the resource availability, the EMAS\ulcorner can reduce the rerouting delay time due to perform the path rerouting to the COS. In comparison with that of the ATM-Forum procedure, our proposed MTIS handover delay time reduced 14~21%, and end-to-end transfer delay time reduced 2~9%, as a result of the simulation.

PV 시스템의 차동 전력 조절기 모듈용 양방향 플라이백 컨버터 설계 방법 (Bidirectional Flyback Converter Design Methodology for Differential Power Processing Modules in PV Applications)

  • A bidirectional flyback converter is a suitable topology for use in a PV-to-bus differential power processing (DPP) module for PV applications due to its electrical isolation capability, bidirectional power transfer, high step-up ratio, and simple circuit structure. However, the bidirectional flyback converter design should consider the effect of the output-side power switch utilized for bidirectional operation compared with that of the conventional flyback converter. This study presents the structure and design methodology of the bidirectional flyback converter for a PV DPP module. Magnetizing inductance is designed by calculating the power loss of converter components within the rated load range under the discontinuous conduction mode, which is unaffected by the reverse recovery characteristics of the anti-parallel diode of the output-side power switch. The validity of the proposed design methodology is verified using a 25 W bidirectional flyback converter prototype. The operational principles and the performance of the DPP operation are verified using practical DPP modules consisting of bidirectional flyback converters implemented according to the proposed design methodology.

  • 최근 인터넷 망에서 고속 스위칭을 위하여 입출력 인터페이스 간 패킷 전송에 있어서 스위칭 패브릭이 적용되고 있다. 기존의 구조들은 가변 길이 IP 패킷의 처리에 ATM 스위칭 패브릭을 그대로 적용하기 위해 패킷을 일정 크기로 분할 및 재조립하거나 크로스포인트에 버퍼를 두는 방식을 고려하고 있어 시스템에 부하를 가져온다. 본 논문에서는 데이타 메모리 평면과 스위칭 평면을 분리하여 패킷 데이타는 독립된 메모리 구조에 저장하고 동시에 메모리 주소 포인터 부분만 스위칭 패브릭을 통과하도록 하는 새로운 스위치 구조를 제안한다. 스위칭 패브릭은 주소 포인터와 기본적인 정보를 포함하는 아주 작은 미니 패킷이 통과하게 되는데 이것은 가변길이 패킷들이 경쟁하는 스위칭 패브릭과 비교할 때 탁월한 스위칭 속도를 가진다.
