  • Purpose: This study analyzes how cabin crew service quality influences customer loyalty in the aviation industry. Specifically, it examines how the reliability, professionalism, and authenticity of cabin crew services affect cognitive loyalty and whether such effects affect emotional loyalty. Design and methodology: We surveyed passengers who had used aviation services in the past year. Structural equation modelling was used to test our hypotheses. To test model fit and assess reliability, validity was developed for the measurement items of each variable. Findings: The results support all four hypotheses. Reliability, professionalism, and authenticity of cabin crew services positively influence cognitive loyalty. Furthermore, cognitive loyalty significantly and positively affects emotional loyalty. These findings highlight the crucial role of cabin crew in fostering both rational preference and emotional attachment among passengers. Conclusions: This study provides insights into developing customer loyalty in the aviation industry. It demonstrates the need to invest in cabin crew training, which ultimately affects all three service quality dimensions. It also indicates that carriers can consider cognitive loyalty as a gateway to emotional loyalty and should pursue strategies accordingly. These results provide airlines with practical implications for improving customer loyalty and furthering their competitive advantage in the industry.

  • To improve the educational system of Korea Maritime Police Agency(KMPA), the authors investigate and evaluate the present course and curricula in details comparing with the systems of USCG and JCG. As a result, it is suggested that KMPA find the diverse route to recruit good-quality officers, develop the future-oriented system, coordinate the course and curricula to meet the role and mission of KMPA. Besides, KMPA build the own training facility and train special instructors.

  • In orde to reduce huge memory requirements of multidimensional CMAC problems, building a CMAC system by problem decomposition is investigated. Decomposition is based on resolving a displacement vector in cartesian coordinates into unit vectors that define a few lower-dimensional CMACs in the CMAC system. A CMAC system for an an in verse kinematics problem for a planar manipulator was simulated and the performance of the system was evaluated in terms of training and output quality.

  • This paper describes the design of a neural network estimator to estimate weld pool sizes for on-line use of quality monitoring and control in GMA welding processes. The estimator utilizes surface temperatures measured at various points on the top surface of the weldment as its input. The main task of the neural net is to realize the mapping characteristics from the point temperatures to the weld pool sizes through training, A series of bead-on plate welding experiments were performed to assess the performance of the neural estimator.

  • In this paper , the basic strategic method to induce the entrants and to raise the morale of students for the maritime college has been discussed, and it is pointed out that the values of higher maritime education in the developed society have a tendency to be highly evaluated from the point of not only maintaining the national shipping but also controlling the quality of the shipping industries and marine environment. Consequently, the new maritime educational program has to be developed so that the student may make a decision to choose hir course for the future job on the base of traditional maritime training.

  • This study aims at suggesting a concepturla model of personnel elitism, and at evaluating the model based on a shipping company case. Specifically, it asks whether the company has met the conditions nessary for the attainment of personnel litism prescribed by the conceptural model. In order to evalutate the model, questionnaire and interview methods were adopted. The area of survey includes the quality of personnel , the efficiency level of work processes. and the level of work load. This study concludes that the rationalization of work processes and training and development of personnel are necessary for a company to realize personnel elitism.

  • This paper proposes a computationally efficient learning-based super-resolution algorithm using k-means clustering. Conventional learning-based super-resolution requires a huge dictionary for reliable performance, which brings about a tremendous memory cost as well as a burdensome matching computation. In order to overcome this problem, the proposed algorithm significantly reduces the size of the trained dictionary by properly clustering similar patches at the learning phase. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides superior visual quality to the conventional algorithms, while needing much less computational complexity.

  • Ship handling simulator has much merit to provide trainees with real-like circumstances in doing virtual education and training. To improve the quality of the education, it should be included both the mathematical model which can explain complicated ship's manoeuvrability and graphic tools for 3D images which can embody the visual scenes of reality on screen. This paper is focused on how to construct the marine environment DB(data Base) using S-57 data of ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart).
