  • A major problem of stopwatch time study is how to do for the accurate and consistent performance rating, which is one of the critical variables to determine the accuracy of work measurement and should be still dependent upon time observer's judgement. Therefore the time observer's ability for the performance rating is very important, and must be improved by correct training method and procedure. This paper developed a new benchmark and benchmark-observation method for the effective performance rating training of assembling and machining operations. The trainees' ability in the accuracy and consistency of the performance rating ,improved significantly after being trained by subject method. The percentage improvement in rating accuracy and consistency values was 34.7% and 49% respectively. In addition, benchmark-practice method for the performance rating training is not significant, so it is proofed that the skill of a certain operation is not important for the improvement of the rating ability.

  • Recently, Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), a special form of CHMM, has been applied to speaker identification and it has proved that performance of GMM is better than CHMM. Therefore, in this paper the speaker models based on GMM and a new GMM using the modified EM algorithm are introduced and evaluated for text-independent speaker identification. Various experiments were performed to evaluate identification performance of two algorithms. As a result of the experiments, the GMM speaker model attained 94.6% identification accuracy using 40 seconds of training data and 32 mixtures and 97.8% accuracy using 80 seconds of training data and 64 mixtures. On the other hand, the new GMM speaker model achieved 95.0% identification accuracy using 40 seconds of training data and 32 mixtures and 98.2% accuracy using 80 seconds of training data and 64 mixtures. It shows that the new GMM speaker identification performance is better than the GMM speaker identification performance.

  • The object of the present study is to examine the effect of physical training during early growth of life on body weight gain and physical performance. Early weaned (2 weeks after birth) male mice were divided into control and training group-and experimental period was divided into growing period (from 1st week to 6th weeks after weaning) and adult period (from 7th weeks to 9th weeks after weaning). Physical training was. given on a small animal treadmill with a speed of 34.3m/min and $19^{\circ}C$ slope and both groups of body weight gain and maximal running time on the treadmill were determined. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Body weight gain was lesser in training group than control group and the difference was. statistically significant at 1, 2.5, 5.7 weeks of training period. 2. Maximal running time of training group was found to be longer than that of control group at 6th (p<0.01), 8th (p<0.001) and 9th weeks. (p<0.01). From the above results, it may be concluded that if physical training is started in early growth of life, there might be an improvement of physical performance.

  • This study examined the extent of improvement of food safety knowledge and practices of employee through food safety training. Employee knowledge and practice for food safety were evaluated before and after the food safety training program. The training program and questionnaires for evaluating employee knowledge and practices concerning food safety, and a checklist for determining food safety performance of restaurants were developed. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Twelve restaurants participated in this study. We split them into two groups: the intervention group with training, and the control group without food safety training. Employee knowledge of the intervention group also showed a significant improvement in their score, increasing from 49.3 before the training to 66.6 after training. But in terms of employee practices and the sanitation performance, there were no significant increases after the training. From these results, we recommended that the more job-specific and hand-on training materials for restaurant employees should be developed and more continuous implementation of the food safety training and integration of employee appraisal program with the outcome of safety training were needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest implications for improving training performance by studying how the capacity of IPP workers and the characteristics of training programs affect the training performance through social support of employees. The study was conducted by distributing the online questionnaire to 270 IPP learning worker(of 9 university). As a result, it was found that the characteristics of the learning worker and the characteristics of training programs were positively related to the social support of the employees, and their social support was positively related to the training performance. The results of this study can contribute to the training performance when used as reference materials for selection of trainees and participating companies and development and operation of training courses. However, the limitation of this study is that the objectivity of the result is rather low by deriving the response centered on the recognition of the learning workers. In future studies, it is necessary to increase the objectivity of the results through three-dimensional cross-checks with training participants.

  • The development of Information technologies huts contributed on-line training as one of important education methods. On-line training In firms, which is similar to e-learning or virtual education, provides trainees with more education opportunities in diverse ways. It has developed a range of innovative services with an one-stop solution of education within the electronic sector. Also under the on-line training environment, trainees can undertake customized training packages at anytime and any places. Moreover, information technology allows both the trainers and other trainees to be decoupled in any of the elements of time, place, and space. Two research questions are investigated : what are the determinants affecting the on-line training effectiveness and how those variables effect the two aspects of training effectiveness: learning performance and transfer performance. Based on the previous literature conducted on the traditional training environment, the determinants of training effectiveness are derived. light hypotheses are developed based on literature reviews and tested by questionnaires survey data. The collected data have been analyzed by LISREL. It is found that the relationship between individual, organizational and on-line sloe design variables and training effectiveness (learning and transfer) are significant. The contribution and limitations of this research are also discussed tilth future studies.
