중국 소주지역 민가 거주가가 지각한 주거문제에 관한 연구 (Studies about Housing Problems Perceived by Residents in Traditional Houses in Suzhou, China)

  • This study is to explore the housing problems and environment conditions perceived by residents in traditional houses in Suzhou, China. The empirical data is based on a questionnaire survey, which were from 100 residents in traditional area in Gusu area of Suzhou. In order to understand the traditional houses, on-the-spot investigation and literature review methods are adapted in this study. The main findings are as follows. Firstly, most of residents are middle-aged or older people, and their income is not high. Secondly, there are almost no cases of organizing independent workroom and storage room in their housing. Moreover, the main problems are mildew, theft, rats and cockroaches, etc. Finally, the satisfaction with the internal housing environment was appeared reasonable, but the external environment is unsatisfactory. Therefore, the external environment should be more considered in the Chinese traditional housing policy.

  • Traditional villages formed their own indigenous residential cultures which were influenced by the nature and the socio-cultural environment. Since the influential factors have changed in modern period, the forms of housing have gradually changed and were also replaced by new types. This study aims to view the changes of the traditional housing in modern period through case studying the traditional village. The result can be used as a preliminary data for another research. The object of this research is Do-Jin village, Buckhoo-myun, in An-Dong which has a regional particularity and diversity of housing forms.

북촌 지역의 한옥보존지원 정책에 따른 지가변동 추이 분석 (Analysis on Land Value Changes of Traditional Houses in Bukchon District)

  • Due to an increasing amount of high rise apartment complexes and rapid city development, traditional houses and traditional housing districts have disappeared rapidly. Recognizing importance of traditional housing value, City of Seoul initiated public supports for traditional house preservation and revitalization of traditional housing district, especially Bukchon area. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of public support for Bukchon area by investigating land value changes. Land value changes were compared among the three periods, 1) before the municipal support initiated ($1997{\sim}1999$), 2) initial period of governmental policy and support ($2000{\sim}2003$), 3) development period in which policy has activated and governmental preservation and revitalization efforts have exercised ($2004{\sim}2007$). For the comparison of land value changes, houses in other districts in City of Seoul have been selected. As a result, land value has been changed along with land value changes in other areas in Seoul. Land values of Bukchon area appeared in the middle range in Seoul area. However, the increasing rate of land value of traditional houses and traditional housing district are much higher than that of other areas. Except for economical support and legislation for preservation and revitalization of traditional housing district, there is few factors explaining the sudden increase of land values. The result indicated the positive impacts of municipal committment and policies on development and preservation projects and suggested that governmental policy and support should be practiced continuously for gradual development for the traditional housing district.

농촌지역 전통, 개량 및 신축주택 외장색채 비교분석 연구 (A Study on the Exterior Color of Housing in Rural Area Comparing with Traditional Housing Color)

  • Until 1960, the major housing type of rural area in Korea was traditional wooden frame building, which was made of natural materials. In the course of modernization and New Village Movement, most of traditional houses have been renovated focusing on changing roof material of rice straw into slate, keeping existing main wooden structure. And then from around 1980, by economical development the new houses have been constructed. On these three phases of traditional type, remodeling type and new construction type, the natural materials of housing facade as wood, soil, stone and plant changed into artificial materials as cement, chemical material and paint. At the same time the exterior color of housing also have been changed and varied. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the changing aspect of exterior color by comparing remodeled and new constructed housing with of traditional housing. The exterior color of one hundred and fifty seven houses were surveyed and the three color attributes of each part of facade, as roof, wall and window, were analyzed and compared. In case of traditional houses, 98.3% of color are concentrated on the warm color of Y and YR on HUE scale, and 88% of their color are low Chroma. And Value of their color has been varied and spreaded from low to high Value scale. From traditional types to remodeled and new constructed houses, the concentration ratio of warm color on Hue scale reduced from 98.3% to 68.7% and ratio of low Chroma was also changed from 88% to 73.2% and the ratio of low Value color reduced from 51.9% to 29.7%. The exterior color of houses in rural area varied on Hue, and the more saturated colors were used and they became brighter compared with color of traditional houses. It is expected that the results of this study can be used for basic data of exterior color planning and improvement into harmonized color with natural environment.

현대한옥의 집합구성 유형과 모델특성 연구 (A Study on Cluster Housing Model and Characteristics of Modern Hanok)

  • Hanok is Korea's traditional housing, which is build detached unit. Most of the People who live in the environment of residential high-rise apartments likes new residential environment, and pursue eco-friendly homes, health homes, especially traditional Hanok was reassure potential. In urban context, resident think more compact land use in Hanok also, because Hanok is dissatified in compact land use, and it should be build as more economic aspect. The purpose of this study is to propose a typology which traditional Hanok also can be build higher land use and traditional values as a modern housing type; First of all, clustered Hanok is formed by traditional houses and interior spaces in modern house., and its types are configured by lifestyle of modern and image element of traditional Hanok. This kinds of clustering Hanok can be seen from historical city, but the trends is a minority of the housing type and form. Now, the modern clustering Hanok, even though handful of cases, appears as sustainable housing type, its possibilities as a new housing should be more detailed researches. A elements of Modern cluster Hanok discused in layout, plan, envelopment of house, structure, roofs, and the coordination of the element can be so much diverse.

  • Purpose: This study is as only basic research for the model Development of the New-Hanok Type Service Facilities in Apartment Housing, which is as a decisive factor used as a planning element for developing the model inherited tradition, There aimed at extracting the genetic factor of Korea's traditional architecture. Method: For this purpose, Consider the concept and regulations of the New-Hanok Type Service Facilities in Apartment Housing and examined the Domestic Application Status of the New-Hanok Type Service Facilities in Apartment Housing. It sets direction of the New-Hanok Type models development based on Expert advice and the literature, and was reviewed a primal reason system of Korea as an extraction base of genetic factors. Result: Then Through the framework of the vertical axis (the form), the horizontal axis (space), It extracted the genetic factors of the Korea Traditional Architecture, classified the genetic factors extracted as the structure(layout, construction, space), features, traditional beauty, investigated the content of the form representation and spatial meaning, and were characterized. Based on the result, It were comprehensive the genetic factors extracted as plan Elements for inheriting of the traditions.

전통온돌난방의 실내 온열환경 쾌적감 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Indoor Thermal Comfort of the House with Ondol Heating System of Korean Traditional Housing)

  • The principle of Korean Traditional Housing was to be harmonized with the nature with shapes according to regional climate and materials easily available from the region. These environmentally friendly characteristics protected indoor environment from climate changes. The characteristics of Korean traditional housing to control indoor environment would be very useful for contemporary housing in that current issues, improving housing amenity and wellbeing, had basic goals same with what Korean Traditional Housing had. Though it could be found characteristics of indoor thermal environment heated by Ondol Heating System, analyses of evaluation made by occupants of the rooms were insufficient because most of the studies had been focused on the measurement of indoor thermal factors. Thus, with an evaluation of occupants for the indoor thermal comfort and an estimation of discomfort derived from the result of vertical temperature distribution, it was studied whether the agreeable indoor range of rooms, of which was Jeonju Hanok Living Experience Center, heated by Ondol Heating System corresponded to the agreeable indoor range presented in references.

  • This study was conducted to identify the effects of industrialization upon the traditional house and dwelling space and their socio-cultural parameters. By now, in architecture the industrialization has been studied in relation to the formation of modern architecture and the traditional hose or hosing, as though it were a thing already concluded. for this reason, the relationship between industrialization and traditional housing has not been surveyed sufficiently. In reality, the traditional house, however, survives in spite of industrialization, but certainly modified. To examine the effects of industrialization on the traditional house and housing, we must deepen the concepts of both and sow how they are entangled in the socio-cultural context and that they are internal to each other. The parameters does not act independently on the organization of the dwelling space, but in a system formed by them. After all, the combined action of the parameters effected by industrialization entails the de-structuration of the traditional arrangement in traditional house, and tends toward, although it does not realize completely, the re-structuration for the arrangement of intimacy embodied in modern house.

The Modernization of the Korean Housing Under the Japanese Colonial Rule

  • The numerous changes made during the Japanese colonial rule became the basis of the current housing in Korea. Therefore, in order to understand the modern Korean housing, it is essential to understand what the Korean traditional life styles admitted or changed, and how the foreign culture of that time influenced the Korean housing under the Japanese colonial rule. Content analysis through literature review was utilized for the study, and specific sources were research papers, books, magazines, newspapers, and novels. The period during the Japanese invasion was the most active era of modernization in the Korean history. For the housing culture, especially, it can be considered as the most significant period that accepted new housing cultures that replaced the old traditional housing. The Japanese and the Western styles of housing were introduced, new materials and collective production methods were used, and the symbol of the current urban housing in Korea, multi-family dwelling, was constructed. In conclusion, the Koreans did not directly use the Japanese and western housing culture, which were constructed during the Japanese colonial period. They were adapted and altered into Korean style, and eventually, produced various eclectic housing styles.

  • Traditional housing must be conserved simultaneous1y with not only the building itself, but the circumstances of the surroundings. Hence, traditional housing should be developed as a product of a culture environment. However, most cultural properties have recently been treated as only a piece of property by irresponsible maintenance practices and damage placed on private traditional housing. Apparently, it has not always been a result of dweller's negligence. Thus, various policies must be needed to effectively preserve traditional housing. To do so, this study will indicate a new direction for the circumstance of preservation through cultural employment of traditional high-class housing as well as reduce maintenance and damage for dweller's convenience. Furthermore, this study will propose a renovation for popularization of Korean cultural assets through the gradual implementation of both economic vague and public worth.
