Purpose - This study aims to disclose the problems of both the government and the logistics industry regarding fourth-party logistics, and to provide various solutions at the level of enterprises as well as the government for the introduction of fourth-party logistics in China. Research design, data, and methodology - This study aims to reveal how a shipping company recognizes the creation of partnerships with fourth-party logistics providers, and it reveals several related implications. Results - Fourth-party logistics organizations can be used to achieve maximum business performance as professional logistics companies by incorporating the benefits of outsourcing and insourcing. Outsourcing logistics services through focusing on core competencies and improving customer service can have financial effects and advantages such as the simplification of labor issues. Conclusions - This study did not investigate Korean enterprises through an empirical analysis and provided fourth-party logistics concepts and promotional plans according to domestic and foreign literature. Further studies shall investigate not only the Korean fourth-party logistics model but also the training of logistics professionals to generate profits for both shippers as well as logistics enterprises.

Tourism development stimulates job creation and the development of other sectors of the economy. More than 30 sectors of the economy are connected to tourism. It distributes resources between sectors and stimulates of development of such sectors like transport, communications, services, trade, construction, and the production of consumer goods. All these increase the importance of tourism as well as forecasting it by analyzing the demand. This study is a review on inbound tourism of Uzbekistan. The study will examine regression analysis as an effective tool that plays an important role as well as in the field of tourism demand analysis. In this study, firstly the estimating tourism demand is explained, secondly, the regression analysis is examined as an estimating tool of tourism demand. The paper includes a country study dedicated to the Tourism market of Uzbekistan. Nevertheless, the forecast on the inbound tourism of Uzbekistan was developed by using some statistical data.

Electronic commerce has already existed for over 20 years. In sectors such as retail and automotive, electronic data interchange(EDI) for application-to-application interaction is being used regularly. For defence and heavy manufacturing, electronic commerce life-cycle management concepts have been developed that aim to integrate information across larger parts of the value chain, from design to maintenance, such as CALS(Computer Assisted Life-cycle Support or Computer Aided Logistics Support). Bolero's mission is to provide guaranteed and secure delivery, in electronic form, of trade documentation, globally, based on a binding legal environment and common procedures. Bolero will also provide a platform for provision of neutral cross-industry services.

A recent dynamic increase in demand for wireless multimedia services has greatly accelerated the research on dynamic channel adaptation of high quality video applications. In this paper, we explore a theoretical approach to cross-layer optimization between multimedia and wireless networks by means of a quality criterion termed "visual throughput" for downlink video transmission using a layered coding algorithm. We obtain the optimal loading ratio of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) subcarriers through an optimization problem balancing the trade-off relationship between inter-cell interference (ICI) and channel throughput. In the simulation, we show that the visual throughput gain at the cell boundary is increased by about 32%.

Central Asian Countries had been independent in 1991 from USSR. Since then it have been increasing foreign trade and investment amount with outside countries including China, Japan, EU and South Korea. Korean enterprises and entities have endeavored to secure plentiful natural resources, oil and gas energy and expand the market share to exporting the consuming and industrial competitive goods and services for those countries. In the case of disputes of commercial transactions and investment, arbitration is regarded as a dispute resolution system which has been preferred in international transactions and investments by the business world. Since the collapse of the USSR, Central Asian Countries have worked to modernize its arbitration law and procedure to conform with international standard rules. Arbitral legislation in Central Asian countries is based on the Model Law as adopted in 1985. However, CIS's legislation systems of arbitration are not satisfied with the international standard in national laws and practices. That is the reason to consider for the specific parliament about arbitration for the dispute resolutions in the commercial transaction and investment between Korean enterprises and CIS. In this article, it is discuss problems and its alternatives in the dispute resolution about the commercial transaction and investment into Central Asian countries including the tendency to the increasing the trade volumes of goods and investment between South Korea and CIS. According to this article, South Korea consider the long term strategy followed the preferred economic relative partnership for business success on commercial transaction and investment with the Central Asian Countries.

This study applies the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate service quality of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) service providers. For this, we first conceptualize five dimensions of 3PL service quality (i.e. tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy). We then apply the AHP method to determining the relative weights of five service quality dimensions and eventually selecting the best 3PL service provider. To implement this idea in practice, we conduct an empirical study on four companies providing 3PL services in Korea.

To match the requirements of heterogeneous mobile devices, video objects may be transcoded, which requires considerable CPU resources. Alternatively, multiple versions of the same video may be stored on servers, but this requires a lot of disk space. We formulate the trade-off between the versions that are stored on disk and the need for transcoding. We propose an optimal solution to this formulation based on dynamic programming. Experiments show that our scheme allows up to 68% more clients to be admitted than conventional schemes when a reasonable amount of storage is available.

In this paper, we conduct a performance analysis for the composite scheme that is obtained by combining the data distribution and the data replication schemes usually used for the implementation of distributed directory service systems. The analysis results reveal that the composite model is a viable option to overcome the performance trade-off between the data distribution and the data replication model. In this paper, we present the performance model developed for the composite model by appling queuing modelling. Using the performance model, performance values for a variety of system execution environments are suggested which enable us to bring an efficient design for high performance distributed directories.

In this paper, we propose an efficient network communication scheme tailored to the network virtual reality(NVR) system. We first present the architecture and implementation of CVRAT (collaborative virtual reality authoring tool). The design goal of CVRAT is to provide consistent and scalable shared virtual environments. To achieve this goal, we classify the network messages according to their reliability and latency requirements. These conflicting requirements lead us to conceive a heterogeneous communication scheme which provides the unicast and three different multicast transport services; unreliable multicast, receiver-driven reliable multicast, fast reliable multicast. Each protocol has trade-offs in reliability, latency and bandwidth usage. The characteristics are analyzed by several experiments. Finally, applying this communication method to multi-participant battle-field tank simulation, we show the efficacy of proposed heterogeneous transport mechanism.

The aim of this study is to assess the impacts of service properties, price expectancy, social influences, and switching costs on adoption intention of 4G in Vietnam. The research model was established by the theory of diffusion of innovation, technology acceptance model, service quality, social influences and switching costs. The result from customers using telecommunication services in Vietnam shows that adoption intention of 4G is affected directly by perceived usefulness, personal innovativeness, price expectancy, social influences, prior service quality and switching costs. Whereas, switching costs have negative effect on adoption intention. Other factors such as personal innovativeness, perceived ease of use and prior service quality have an indirect effect on adoption intention of 4G.
