비축대칭 3차원 모조 소용돌이를 이용한 열대저기압의 진로 및 강도예측 (Tropical Cyclone Track and Intensity Forecast Using Asymmetric 3-Dimensional Bogus Vortex)

  • The bogussing method was further developed by incorporating the asymmetric component into the symmetric bogus tropical cyclone of the Structure Adjustable Balanced Vortex (SABV). The asymmetric component is separated from the disturbance field associated with the tropical cyclone by establishing local polar coordinates whose center is the location of the tropical cyclone. The relative importance of wave components in azimuthal direction was evaluated, and only two or three wave components with large amplitude are added to the symmetric components. Using the Weather Research and Forecast model (WRF), initialized with the asymmetric bogus vortex, the track and central pressure of tropical cyclones were predicted. Nine tropical cyclones, which passed over Korean peninsula during 2010~2012 were selected to assess the effect of asymmetric components. Compared to the symmetric bogus tropical cyclone, the track forecast error was reduced by about 18.9% and 17.4% for 48 hours and 72 hours forecast, while the central pressure error was not improved significantly. The results suggest that the inclusion of asymmetric component is necessary to improve the track forecast of tropical cyclones.

Prediction of vibration and noise from steel/composite bridges based on receptance and statistical energy analysis

  • The noise from the elevated lines of rail transit has become a growing problem. This paper presents a new method for the rapid prediction of the structure-borne noise from steel or composite bridges, based on the receptance and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA), which is essential to the study of the generation mechanism and the design of a low-noise bridge. First, the vertical track-bridge coupled vibration equations in the frequency domain are constructed by simplifying the rail and the bridge as an infinite Timoshenko beam and a finite Euler-Bernoulli beam respectively. Second, all wheel/rail forces acting upon the track are computed by taking a moving wheel-rail roughness spectrum as the excitation to the train-track-bridge system. The displacements of rail and bridge are obtained by substituting wheel/rail forces into the track-bridge coupled vibration equations, and all spring forces on the bridge are calculated by multiplying the stiffness by the deformation of each spring. Then, the input power to the bridge in the SEA model is derived from spring forces and the bridge receptance. The vibration response of the bridge is derived from the solution to the power balance equations of the bridge, and then the structure-borne noise from the bridge is obtained. Finally, a tri-span continuous steel-concrete composite bridge is taken as a numerical example, and the theoretical calculations in terms of the vibration and noise induced by a passing train agree well with the field measurements, verifying the method. The influence of various factors on wheel/rail and spring forces is investigated to simplify the train-track-bridge interaction calculation for predicting the vibration and noise from steel or composite bridges.

Effect of noise barrier on aerodynamic performance of high-speed train in crosswind

  • A three-dimensional aerodynamic model and a vehicle dynamics model are established to investigate the effect of noise barrier on the dynamic performance of a high-speed train running on an embankment in crosswind in this paper. Based on the developed model, flow structures around the train with and without noise barrier are compared. Effect of the noise barrier height on the train dynamic performance is studied. Then, comparisons between the dynamic performance indexes of the train running on the windward track and on the leeward track are made. The calculated results show that the noise barrier has significant effects on the structure of the flow field around the train in crosswind and thus on the dynamic performance of the high-speed train. The dynamic performance of the train on the windward track is better than that on the leeward track. In addition, various heights of the noise barrier will have different effects on the train dynamic performance. The dynamic performance indexes keep decreasing with the increase of the noise barrier height before the height reaches a certain value, while these indexes have an inverse trend when the height is above this value. These results suggest that optimization on the noise barrier height is possible and demonstrate that the designed noise barrier height of the existing China Railway High-speed line analysed in this article is reasonable from the view point of the flow field structure and train dynamic performance although the noise barrier is always designed based on the noise-related standard.

  • Even though the existing train route controlling method, using track circuits, ensures the sufficient number of operation, it still has problems such as discordance between train numbers which was planned for operating and train numbers being operated on the track, and allowing only one train entering for one route. To solve those problems, we study and develop the Smart train route controlling system which uses the real-time informations of train positions. This system enables improve the coefficient of utilization in a certain train route controlling section, and the safety level of train route controlling, but we should ensure satisfying reliability of data about tracks operated by trains. In addition, there is a need to protect accidents caused by erroneous information of train position, by reflecting changes of tracks, for example maintenance, improvement, expansion of tracks. In this paper, we describes data structure of a developed program which required to change CAD files to wiring diagrams and to generate them to data of tracks. And we show the result that the simulator, using the data structure, controls speed and route of trains without problems.

도시철도 궤도구조별 궤도충격계수 평가 (The Evaluation of Track Impact Factor on the Various Track Type in Urban Transit)

  • 현재 한국에서 궤도설계 시 사용하고 있는 궤도충격계수는 미국철도기술협회(AREA)의 식(1+0.513V/100)을 사용하고 있다. 이 식은 자갈 및 콘크리트궤도 모두 동일하게 적용되고 있으며 이러한 단일수치로서의 충격계수는 다양한 궤도구조의 역학적 거동특성을 반영하지 못하여 경우에 따라 과다설계가 될 소지가 있다. 또한 자갈궤도의 경우 도상자갈의 상태변화에 따라, 콘크리트궤도는 궤도탄성층의 구성과 탄성범위에 따라 궤도에 작용하는 동적윤하중의 효과, 즉 충격의 효과가 상이하게 발생된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자갈궤도(도상 상태 양호 및 불량개소)와 콘크리트궤도(일반적인 침목매입식 궤도, 레일플로팅궤도, 침목플로팅궤도)에서의 현장측정을 통해 도상별, 궤도구조별 열차 주행시 발생하는 윤중의 동적효과를 분석하여 궤도의 상태 및 구조적 특성과 궤도 충격의 효과와의 상관관계 및 영향을 비교, 분석하였다. 연구결과 궤도구조의 특성을 감안하여 궤도충격의 영향을 합리적으로 산정 할 수 있는 제안식을 제시하였다.

궤도가속실험을 통한 포장궤도 토공구간 시공이음매부의 변형특성 연구 (Deformation Characteristics of Construction Joint of Paved Track on Earthwork Section using the Accelerated Track Test)

  • 포장궤도는 토공구간, 교량구간, 터널구간, 분기기구간 등 모든 구간에서 유지보수를 절감할 목적으로 적용한다. 토공구간에 포장궤도를 적용할 경우, 내구성에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 시공이음매부로서 구조적인 문제는 없으나 슬래브의 불연속으로 인한 단차가 발생하여 장기적인 사용성에 영향을 미칠 가능성이 있다. 따라서 이에 대한 검토를 위하여 실물의 포장궤도를 제작하여 시공이음매부와 연속부에서 가속실험을 실시하였다. 가속실험에서는 각 재하하중별 변위와 토압에 대한 경향을 비교함으로써 시공이음매부에서의 취약도를 평가하고자 하였다.

  • 산지가 전국토의 70%를 차지하는 국내 지형의 특성으로 인하여, 철도선로 전체 노선의 상당부분을 교량구간이 차지한다. 이에 따라 교량 설계 시 경제성 증가를 위하여 경간장을 늘리는 것이 유리하지만 궤도-교량 상호작용에 의한 레일의 부가축응력, 변위 등의 문제로 인한 제약이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 궤도와 교량 상판 사이에 설치되는 슬라이딩 층을 고려한 궤도-교량 상호작용 해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 결과를 통해 슬라이딩층 설치 방법에 따른 상호작용 거동을 분석하였으며, 궤도-교량 상호작용이 저감된 새로운 궤도-교량 구조시스템의 개발방향을 제안하였다.

콘크리트궤도용 고속분기기 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Swing-Nose Crossing on Slab Track)

  • In line with current speed-up of railroad, a slab track has been increasingly adopted in a bid to secure the safety of track structure as well as to reduce the maintenance cost, and furthermore, the need for commercialization of domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track has been on the rise. For commercialization of swing-nose crossing turnout on slab which was developed in Korea, a technical and systematic performance evaluation system, considering local environment, shall be established and then the performance evaluation shall be accordingly implemented. This paper was intended to summarize the performance evaluation system, referring to the data available at home and abroad and the results of performance evaluation for domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track carried out to date based on that system. A performance evaluation system comprises the technical requirement appropriateness evaluation(component performance evaluation and design verification), laboratory test and on-site test. For domestically-developed swing-nose crossing turnout on slab track, appropriateness evaluation and laboratory test have been completed and the on-site test of those installed on the 2nd phase of Kyung-Bu HSR is underway now.

고속철도 교량상판의 온도신축작용이 궤도처짐에 미치는 영향과 대책에 관한 연구 (The Effect and Countermeasures of The Vertical Track Settlement Caused by Expand and Contract Behavior of the High-Speed Railway Bridge Girder)

  • According to continuos welded rails on a bridge, temperature changes bring about the expansion of the bridge deck adding axil forces on the track. Moreover, the ballast on the bridge deck expansion joint is moved due to the bridge deck. If bridge decks are longer, the influence is greater, loosening ballast, causing track irregularities, and deteriorating passengers' comfort. Considering structure of bridge itself and tolerance of track irregularities caused by the loosened ballast on bridges, the maximum length of a deck should be less than 80m, which is the same as the standard of the French railway. In this study, an interaction between the expansion related to the bridge length and irregularity in longitudinal level referring to measurements and maintenance works performed in the high-speed railways was analyzed. This research shows that installation of sliding plate or vertical ballast stopper is not a good option since it is difficult to install. On the other hand, installation of movable fastener or gluing is easy but its influence is insignificant. To conclude, switch tie tamping or manual tamping is more effective than others.

적외선 탐색 및 추적장비의 동적 특성 및 안정화 (Dynamic Characteristics and Stability of an Infrared Search and Track)

  • Current paper investigates the dynamic behavior and stability of an infrared search and track subjected to external disturbance having gimbal structure with three rotating axes keeping constant angular velocity in the azimuth direction. Euler-Lagrange equation is applied to derive the coupled nonlinear dynamic equation of motion of infrared search and track and the characteristics of dynamic coupling are investigated. Two equilibrium points with small variations from the nonlinear coupling system are derived and the specific condition from which a coupled equation can be three independent equations is derived. Finally, to examine the stability of system, Lyapunov direct method was used and system stability and stability boundaries are investigated.
