The localization system for tour guide robot was developed which is inevitable and important for the guide robot in order to guide the tourists and explain the history or contents of the site. The localization system is based on the non-inertial sensors such as a DGPS, Dead-Reckoning. The information of the DGPS is used to update the estimated positions from Dead Reckoning. The extended Kalman filter was used for the fusion of the measured information from the sensors and estimated positions by Dead Reckoning. The simulation results show that it is very reliable and the position error is bounded within a certain extend.

In this paper we has implemented a tour guide terminal using the embedded linux. The implemented terminal can locate its position using GPS interface and display the sightseeing information of the current location. With view of this implementation results, we confirmed the possibility of embedded linux terminal as a tour guide PDA. The realtime update of sightseeing information using a mobile communication functionality will be included in our future works.

Recently, tourism is one of future promising industries having high developing possibilities, so many countries have developed tour resources and tried to attract foreign tourists using the resources. Many researches and attempts have tried to apply for tourism using various technologies such as GPS and RFID. However, the applying areas have been highly restricted to the technology providing contents on the spot for independent tourists. Therefore, this paper designed and implemented "Intelligent Tour Guide System (ITGS)" using GPS and ZigBee. The ITGS is for group tourists, and provides various functions for enjoying their tours in limited schedules.

Location Based Services using GPS receiver with network enabled smart phone provides various services and many business models. Currently, many context awareness models on smart phone applications are under developing. But most of the services are based on current user position and Point of Interest(POI)s, which are very static. In this paper, we proposed and implemented multimedia tourist guide system using smart phone, which are very dynamic and provides tour guide's voice and audio service on the spot. Also we provides tour experience sharing method which can easily share the videos and pictures for each users.

City tour service has a function not only informs tourists of historical and cultural resources in the city but also contributes to improving city image making. In this study, a questionnaire was surveyed to tourists who used Suwon city tour to find out which factors make affect their intention to re-visit or recommendation to others. Structural equation model was constructed and set a hypothesis that overall city tour satisfaction would have a positive effect. The fitness of the final model was found out to be meet the statistical criteria. As a result of the final model, both satisfaction of guide and satisfaction of city tour operation were significant at 5% significance level (P<0.01). On the other hand, both satisfaction of bus facility and of promotion, customer service were statistically insignificant. Consequently, City tour service satisfaction was found to effect to the intention of re-visit and recommendation. Especially, The higher the satisfaction of guide and city tour operation, the more tendency to recommend. It is expected that local government which operates city tour bus could take advantage of this result in the future.

The ubiquitous environment is to support people in their everyday life in an inconspicuous and unobtrusive way. This environment requires information such as the person, his/her preferences, and habits which is available in the ubiquitous system. In this paper, we propose the context aware system that can provide the tailored information service for user in ubiquitous computing environment. Our system architecture is divided into 4 domain models such as context awareness, presentation, interface and inference domain. Each domain model can perform some predefined tasks independently. And we suggest the hybrid algorithm combined with fuzzy and Bayesian method in order to reason what is the suitable information for user. We show the possibility for the real application through applying the system to the TGA (Tour Guide Assistant) for Kyoungju historical site.

카메라를 내장한 휴대용 단말기의 보급과 인터넷 및 무선 네트워크의 급속한 확산으로 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경을 구체화한 새로운 서비스들이 등장하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 4개 분야의 학제간 공동연구를 통해 기존 PC 기반의 인터넷 컴퓨팅 환경에서 적용하기 어려웠던 U-Campus 서비스를 제안한다. 이는 UTOPIA 프로젝트의 일부로서 휴대용 단말기와 이미지 기반 센서인 컬러코드를 이용한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅형 캠퍼스 서비스이다. 현재 테스트 베드를 구축하고 U-Profile. U-Messaging 및 U-Campus Tour Guide 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 학생. 교수. 교직원 및 학교 방문자들은 U-Campus환경 하에서 다양한 정보를 PDA, 휴대전화, 스마트폰 등 휴대용 단말기를 통해서 언제, 어디서나 자연스럽게 제공 받을 수 있다.

The main objective of this study was to investigate how Jongga and its cuisine is perceived by Koreans and foreign tourists and develop Jongga culinary culture for culinary tourism. Chungjae Jongga was chosen since it is one of the most famous Jongga in South Korea. In-depth personal interviews were performed with Koreans and foreign tourists. Interviews were performed to provide deeper insights into comments and subject matters. Most tourists selected "having lunch at Jongga" as the most distinctive part of the tour. To develop the experience at Jongga as a culinary destination, questionnaires were created to study eight areas: satisfaction, expectations as a tourist at Jongga, most impressive part of tour, preference of food serving style, length of stay, price range, things to be improved, and role of food guide. This study will help Jongga to improve food as a culinary tourist's attraction and ultimately heighten the value of Jongga. Perceptions toward Jongga and its cuisine were generally positive, but the quality of service and lack of organization in establishments were perceived to be negative factors.
