  • The evolution of input device for computer has pretty much slowed down after the introduction of mouse as feinting input device. Even though stylus and touch screen were invented later on which provide some alternatives, all these methods were designed to have close range interaction with computer. There are not many options available for user to interact with computer from afar, which is especially needed during presentation. Therefore, in this paper, we try to fill the gap by proposing a laser pointer interaction system to allow user to give pointing input command to the computer from some distance away using only laser pointer, which is cheap and readily available. With the combination of image processing based software, we could provide mouse-like pointing interaction with computer. The proposed system works well not only in currently plane screen, but also in flexible screen by incorporating the feature of non-linear coordinate mapping algorithm in our system so that our system can support non-linear environment, such as curved and flexible wall.

  • In this paper, we propose assistant device system based on camera that can perform general mouse function for the physically disabled. Most disabled people use special hardware and rely largely on foreign-made assistance device and the using rate of assistance device was very low because of high price. To solve this problem, we propose effective system based on web camera that can perform general mouse function and can raise accessibility for the physically disabled. In the proposed method, we firstly attach color marker on arbitrary device or body parts and then input the information of color using camera and extract coordinate information of color marker and finally, match processing information(coordinate) to special event(keyboard, mouse) and control various applications. The proposed method shows good performance in price and performance compared with other techniques by real field test.

  • The QWERTY type keyboard is a classical device that has been used for computers for a long time. The keyboard design of mobile devices like smartphones is an important issue to consider because of the limited space on the touch screen. This paper presents a design for symbol allocation on the QWERTY type soft keyboard. A 27-cell model, including the full stop (.), is proposed in this paper. A QWERTY type keyboard for smartphones is mainly known for its spatial compatibility, whereas the characters of the ANSI keyboard are allocated to the shoulder positions for functional auxiliary input methods such as the long pressing method.

  • This paper will analysis the Jam-O-Drum developed for collaborative musical experience at first. And we suggest the multi-user interactive game system Kom-O-Drum(Korean Jam-O-Drum) as a Serious Game Platform By combining velocity, direction and touch sensitive input devices like a korea traditional drum "Jang Go" and computer graphics imagery into an LCD or PDP display up to four simultaneous players are able to participate in a collaborative approach to game's mission. Also we introduce the design of detail input device and application fields of Kom-O-Drum for Serious Game.

  • Most smartphone use virtual keypads based on touch-pad. The virtual keypads often make typographical errors because of the physical limitations of device such as small screen and limited input methods. To resolve this problem, many similar word-finding methods have been studied. In the paper, we propose an edit distance method (a well-known string similarity measure) that is modified to consider various types of virtual keypads. The proposed method effectively covers typographical errors in various keypads by converting an input string into a physical key sequence and by reflecting characteristics of virtual keypads to edit scores. In the experiments with various keypads, the proposed method showed better performances than a typical edit distance method.

  • Recently, as the number of people using Smartphones increased, several researches has been launched basing it's subject on this issue. In this circumstance, the fusion of sensor technologies and Smartphone offers a variety of functions. The system introduced in the current paper uses a controller which extracts information about accelerating movements of an user. This information is then sent to the Smartphone through Bluetooth communication. The input method proposed in this paper differs from the existing methods such as touch typing or button input in Smartphones. It rather uses the 3-D acceleration sensor which enables users to control their Smartphone anywhere and anytime without directly touching the device. Furthermore, because it is developed for various applications, it can be applied in many different fields.

  • Recently smartphones, tablet, etc. Various types of smart terminal is due to the increased security in mobile devices are becoming an issue. How to enter the password in this environment is a very important issue. Difficult to have a secure password input device on various types of mobile devices. In addition you enter on the touch screen the password of character, uncomfortable and it is vulnerable to SSA attack. Therefore, in this paper provide for defense the SSA(Shoulder Surfing Attacks) and useful password input mechanism is proposed with Smartphone GPS uses a value generated via a graphical password techniques.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop simulations that can be used for virtual education in dentistry. The virtual education to be developed will be developed with clinical training and actual case data of tooth extraction. This development goal is to allow dental students to learn the necessary surgical techniques at the point of their choice, not going into the operating room, away from time, space, and physical limits. I want to develop content using VR. Oculus Rift HMD, Optical Based Outside-in Tracking System, Oculus Touch Motion Controller, and Headset as Input / Output Device. In this configuration, the optimization method is applied convergent, and when the operation of the VR contents is performed, the content data is extracted from the interaction analysis formed in the VR engine, and the data is processed by the content algorithm. It also computes events and dental operations generated within the 3D engine programming and generates corresponding events through data processing according to the input signal. The visualization information is output to the HMD using the rendering information. In addition, the operating room environment was constructed by studying lighting and material for actual operating room environment. We applied the ratio of actual space to virtual space and the ratio between character and actual person to create a spatial composition at a similar rate to actual space.
