레이더에 의한 개선된 강우강도와 면적 강우량의 실시간 추정 (Improvement of Radar Rainfall Intensity and Real-time Estimation of Areal Rainfall)

  • An operational calibration is applied to improve radar rainfall intensity using rainfall obtained from rain gauge. The method is applied under the assumption of the temporal continuity of rainfall, the rainfall intensity from rain gauge is linearly related to that from radar. The method is applied to the cases of typhoon and rain band using the reflectivity of CAPPI at 1.5km obtained from Jindo radar. The CAPPI is obtained by bilinear interpolation. For the two cases, the rainfall intensities obtained by operational calibration are very consistent with the ones by the rain gauges. The present study shows that the correlation between the rainfall intensity by operational calibration and rain gauges is better than the one between the rainfall intensity by M-P relationship and rain gauges. The correlation coefficients between the total rainfall intensity obtained by operational calibration and rain gauges in typhoon and rain band cases are 0.99 and 0.97, respectively. Areal rainfalls are estimated using the field of calibration factor interpolated by Barnes objective analysis. The method applied here shows an improvement in the areal rainfall estimation. For the cases of typhoon and rain band, the correlation between the areal rainfall by operational calibration and rain gauges is better than the one between the area rainfall by M-P relationship and rain gauges. The correlation coefficients between the areal rainfall obtained by operational calibration and rain gauges in typhoon and rain band cases are 0.97 and 0.84, respectively. The present study suggests that the operational calibration is very useful for the real-time estimation of rainfall intensity and areal rainfall.

영농기와 비영농기에 강우에 의해 논으로 유입되는 질소공급량 분석 (The Analysis of Nitrogen Supply Amount in Paddy Fields by Rainfall During Cropping and Non-Cropping Period)

  • In this study, we conducted to analyze and quantify the amount of nitrogen supply into the rice paddies from the rainfall during cropping and non-crop periods. Rainfall monitoring conducted 85 times from June 2015 to December 2017. Nitrogen supply of cropping season ranged from 5.37 to 7.70 kg/ha, while non-cropping season were supplied from 3.97 to 4.42 kg/ha. The supply of T-N in the crop period was more than 60% of the total supply. And as a result of analyzing the correlation between the characteristics of rainfall and the supply amount, nitrogen concentrations in rainfall were decreased with increasing rainfall, but the supply amount was increased. Therefore, efforts should be made to increase the rainfall utilization and to increase the nitrogen supply of crops by increasing rainfall storage through drainage management.

유역 단위 Horton 침투모형을 적용한 시간단위 초과우량 산출 절차 제시 (An Offer of a Procedure Calculating Hourly Rainfall Excess by Use of Horton Infiltration Model in a Basin)

  • 강우-유출모형에 의해서 유역내 강우로부터 직접 유출량을 산출하는 것은 홍수량 예측에 기초가 된다. 직접 유출량은 강우-유출모형에 의해서 초과우량 또는 유효우량으로부터 산출된다. 시간별 초과우량은 시간별 총 강우에서 강우의 손실량을 제하여 산출한다. 이 손실량은 강우-유출모형 내 여러 손실 중에 비중이 큰 침투 손실량과 같도록 취급할 수 있다. 여기서 초과우량 또는 유효우량 산출을 위해서 실용적으로 간편한 $\Phi$지수법, W지수법 또는 이의 수정법이 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 한 유역 내 강우 손실의 시간적 변화는 잘 알려진 Horton 침투 과정으로 간주하여 Horton 침투모형의 매개변수 값이 주어진 경우에 시간 단위별 침투손실 및 초과우량을 산출하는 절차와 적용 원칙을 제시하고 적용결과를 $\Phi$지수 방법의 적용결과에 비교하였다. 본 연구에서 산출한 강우사상에서 시간 단위의 Horton 침투량 값은 시간에 따라 지수적으로 감쇠되는 Horton 모형의 침투 과정을 잘 보여 준다.

SWAT 모델을 이용한 강우특성 변화에 의한 퇴적물-유출량 간의 관계 평가 (Assessment of Relationship between Sediment-Discharge Based on Rainfall Characteristic using SWAT Model)

  • The sediment transportation caused by soil erosion due to rainfall-discharge in the large watershed scale plays critical role in human society. The relationship between rainfall-discharge-sediment transportation is depending on the start time of rainfall and end of rainfall but, the studies related with rainfall characteristics are insufficient. In this study, The Soil and Water Assession Tool (SWAT) model was used to study the relationship between rainfall-discharge-sediment transportation at the Sook river watershed which is monitored by the Ministry of Environment. To do this, first of all, the sensitivity analysis about model attributes was performed using monitored data. The accuracy analysis of SWAT model was conducted using the model's efficiency index (Nash and Sutcliffe model efficiency; NSE) and the coefficient of determination (R2). After that, it was studied what results could be obtained according to changes in rainfall timing and end points. In the result of discharge simulation, the modified rainfall values (sum of total rainfall starting time and end time) showed more high accuracy values (R2:0.90, NSE: 0.8) than original rainfall values (R2:0.76, NSE: 0.72). In the result of sediment transportation simulation, during calibration had more resonable results(R2:0.87, NSE: 0.86) than compared with original rainfall values (R2:0.44, NSE: 0.41). However, validation results of sediment transportation simulation showed low accuracy values compared with calibration results. This results maybe cause monitoring periods of sediment flow compared with discharge monitoring periods. Nevertheless, since rainfall characteristic plays critical rule in model results, continuous research on rainfall characteristic is needed.

소유역의 설계유량 산정을 위한 강우현상 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rainfall-Pattern Analysis for determination of Design flow in small watershed)

  • 강우량의 시간분포 특성에 관한 강우상태 분석은 소유역의 계획홍수량을 결정한다거나 도시지역의 배수망 설계를 위한 설계유량 산정을 위하여 대단히 중요하다. 서울 지역의 과거 기록치로부터 총강우량이 20mm 이상 되는 약 400개의 호우자료를 이용하여 5분간격 강우의 시간분포를 해석하였다. 총강우량에 대한 백분율을 총강우시간에 대한 백분율과 연관시키고 획득된 자료를 강우 최대치가 발생되는 위치 따라 4개의 그룹으로 분류 분석하여 그 결과를 제시하였다. 또한 강우와 강우간의 변화성을 정량적으로 나타내기 위하여 시간분포 특성을 빈도 확률에 따라 분석하였다. 분석결과로 얻어진 강우의 시간분포 관계는 설계유량 수문곡선 결정에 사용되는 설계강우의 우량주상도를 얻는데 사용될 뿐만 아니라 주어진 유역에서의 강우형상을 파악하는데 적용될 수 있다. 또한 수문해석 문제를 위한 강우의 모델을 형성할 수 있으며 공간적 분포 이외의 강우특성 및 매개변수 등과 같은 자료와 연관시킬 수 있다. 분석결과 제2구간 강우의 빈도가 가장 높았으며 제4구간 강우의 빈도가 가장 낮았다. 이와 같은 분석 결과인 시간분포의 특성을 누가 강우시간 백분율과 누가 강우량 백분율의 항으로써 확률별로 표시하였으며 각 구간별 강우의 시간분포 양상 및 그에 따른 우량주상도를 도표화하였다.

지하 빗물저류시설의 설치에 따른 유출 저감 효과 분석 (Reduction Rate of the Total Runoff Volume though Installing a Rainfall Storage Tank in the Sub-Surface)

  • 본 연구에서는 지하 빗물저류시설 설치에 따른 유출저감 효과를 분석하기 위하여 실험실내 모형 빗물저류장치를 설치하여 강우강도 변화, 표층의 피복상태 변화, 표면경사 변화에 따른 유출량 변화 실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 대상하천인 승기천의 토양조건하에서 강우강도가 40mm/hr-100mm/hr일 때 총유출량 감소는 42.3-52.9%로 나타났으며, 지하 빗물저류시설을 설치하는 경우 총유출량과 첨두유량의 감소를 가져올 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 경사변화에 따른 총유출량의 변화는 완만한 경사에서는 매우 크게 나타났으나 3%이상의 급경사에서 침투에 의한 저류량에 변화가 적고, 이는 산지와 같은 급경사지역에 빗물저류시설을 설치하는 경우 장기간의 홍수에 대하여 상당한 효과를 나타내는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 시스템은 하천이나 산지의 급경사에도 큰 결과를 기대할 수 있다.

규사광산 지역의 강우시 비점오염원의 유출분석 (Analysis of NPS Pollution Loads over Rainfall-Runoff Events from the Silica Mine Site)

  • A silica mine monitoring was conducted from March to December in 2008 to measure rainfall, runoff amounts and pollution loads. A total of 13 rainfall-runoff events were measured and analyzed with respect to runoff ratio, pollutant concentration and load, and initial flush. Over rainfall-runoff events, 95% confidence range of SS concentration was 942.5~2,056.2 mg/L. Other measured water quality indices also showed relatively large variation. This wide concentration variation was thought to be caused by the bare working ground of the mine that was used to store, process and transport the mined silica. Total pollution load of the 13 rainfall-runoff events was SS 17,901 kg/ha, $COD_{Cr}$ 160.9 kg/ha, $COD_{Mn}$ 111.24 kg/ha, BOD 79.6 kg/ha, T-N 13.8 kg/ha, T-P 3.5 kg/ha, and TOC 39.3 kg/ha. Initial flush was not well observed except SS. Very high SS concentration and load was occurred when rainfall was large. Therefore, it was recommended to manage the bare ground not to discharge excessive pollutants during wet days by covering the ground or constructing runoff treatment systems such as a sediment basin.

19세기 원주감영, 함흥감영, 해주감영 측우기 강우량 복원 (Restoration of 19th-century Chugugi Rainfall Data for Wonju, Hamheung and Haeju, Korea)

  • This study restores rainfall measurements taken with the Chugugi (rain gauge) at Wonju, Hamheung, and Haeju from the Deungnok (government records from the Joseon Dynasty). We restored rainfall data corresponding to a total of 9, 13, and 18 years for Wonju, Hamheung, and Haeju, respectively. Based on the restored data, we reconstructed monthly rainfall data. Restoration was most successful for the rainy season months of June, July and August. The restored rainfall data were compared with the summer rainfall data for Seoul as recorded by the Seungjeongwon (Royal Secretariat). In June, the variation in the restored rainfall data was similar to that of the Seungjeongwon data for Seoul. In July and August, however, the variations in the reconstructed data were markedly different from those in the Seoul data (Seungjeongwon). In the case of the worst drought in the summer of 1888, a substantial shortage of rainfall was found in both the Seungjeongwon data for Seoul and the restored data for the three regional locations.

강우시 고속도로 노면 유출 오염부하 발생 특성 분석 (Relationship between Pollutant and Influence Factors in Highway runoff)

  • This study analyzed influence factors and the correlation among pollutants which affect occurrence of leaked pollution based on the long-term runoff flow and water quality investigation results to understand the characteristics of highway rainfall runoff pollution load. According to the result of correlation analysis on TSS (Total Suspended Solid) concentration, anteceded dry days, rainfall intensity, traffic volume and etc. as major influence factors of highway rainfall runoff pollution loads, the correlations were weak or scarce in most items. These results might be attributed that runoff pollutant concentration changes vary severely on changes of rainfall intensity and rainfall duration within rainfall and it is affected by disturbances of vehicles and street cleaning and etc. as characteristics of the highway. While Cu, Fe and Zn which are discharged with high concentrations out of heavy metals showed high correlation with particulate matter, organic matter(COD), nutrient(TN, TP), Ni and Pb showed relatively low correlation in a correlation evaluation by pollutant. Significant correlation with traffic volumes was not shown and TSS concentration even decreased in accordance with increase of the traffic volume. In the comparison with precedent studies, it was considered necessary additional analysis of the effects of rainfall section analysis, road type, disturbances of surface contaminants by vehicles, rainfall and climate conditions, surrounding terrains etc.

Application of Percentile Rainfall Event for Analysis of Infiltration Facilities used by Prior Consultation for LID (Low Impact Development)

  • Purpose: Retention and infiltration of small and frequently-occurring rainfall by LID facilities account for a large proportion of the annual precipitation volume. Based on 4 standard facilities such as Porous Pavement, Infiltration Trench, Cylindrical Infiltration Well, Rectangular Infiltration Well by Seoul Metropolitan Handbook of the Prior Consultation for LID. The total retention volume of each facility was calculated according to the type and size. The Purpose of this study is to find out the quantitative relationship between Percentile Rainfall Event and Design Volume of Infiltration Facilities. Methode: For the estimation of Percentile Rainfall Event, Daily Precipitation of Seoul from 2005 to 2014 was sorted ascending and the distribution of percentile was estimated by PERCENTILE spreadsheet function. The managed Rainfall Depth and Percentile of each facility was calculated at the several sizes. In response to the rainwater charge volume of 5.5mm/hr by the Category "Private large site", the 3 types of facilities were planned for example. The calculated Rainfall Depth and Percentile were 54.4mm and 90% by the use of developed Calculation-Module based on the Spreadsheet program. Result: With this Module the existing Designed Infiltration volume which was introduced from Japan was simply converted to the Percentile-Rainfall-Event used in USA.
