타이어 패턴 설계인자에 따른 타이어 라벨링 성능변화 연구 (A Study on Tire Labeling Performance for Tire Pattern Design)

  • It is well known that tire pattern design factors have a large influence on overall tire performance. In this paper, the basic study on the effects of tire pattern design factors on tire labeling performance has been carried out through experimental tests. The pass-by noise is affected by tire pattern design, by a maximum of 2.7dB(A), and the number of sipes gives large effects on PBN. The rolling resistance is also influenced, mostly by the number of longitudinal grooves and secondly the number of sipes. Finally, there is a weak correlation between PBN and RR when the pattern design factors are changed.

  • Nowadays concrete pavement is increasing, since it is more durable than asphalt pavement. And the concrete pavement with lateral rain groove may induce high level of concrete whine noise as pure tone. In this paper, the design factor for good concrete whine noise is considered in view of tire pattern and structure design. In respect of tire pattern design, the tire having a cap tread with high center part stiffness and low shoulder part stiffness shows best concrete whine noise performance. And in respect of tire structural design, the tire with a thick center part of cap tread and low tread part stiffness show best concrete whine noise performance.

  • In this paper, This work demonstrates a experimental evaluation for vehicle road noise NVH performance from the component-level NVH measurements of Tire. The power unit noise from tire emitted by cars has been reduced. It has been found that tire noise dominates noise produced by the power train when vehicles are driven at high constant speed. Therefore tire pattern noise is affected by pattern and vehicle and transmission loss. Tire noise mechanism is generated by several mechanisms. The sound of tire can propagate either through the air or through the structure of vehicle. Pattern noise is the result of pressure variations through the air to the interior side of vehicle. Especially, smooth asphalt, the periodicity of tread design, groove depth is important factor, which have an influence on the reduction of tire pattern noise.

  • It is generally known that the PRAT(Plysteer Residual Aligning Torque) is one of indicating a performance factors of a tire for assessing the vehicle pull, also tire pattern shape, which means lateral groove angle, is very important tire design factor in relation to the PRAT. Lateral grooves of tire pattern are widely divided into center and shoulder parts. So, this paper has studied the correlation between the PRAT and their lateral groove angles using FEM. Especially, the steady state rolling analysis among tire rolling analysis methods has been used for the PRAT performance study. Firstly, analysis result data have been compared with the experimental data to validate FE analysis for PRAT. Next, the PRAT due to the lateral groove angle about PCR(Passenger Car Radial) tire and SUV tire has been analyzed. The tendency of the PRAT due to the lateral groove angles can be used as a guide line for the tire design in relation to vehicle pull.

품질공학을 이용한 트레드 패턴 인자의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of Tire Tread Pattern Using Quality Engineering)

  • The tread pattern of tire is represented by a great number of design factors, such as groove breadth of circumference direction, breadth direction, rib breadth, block length, kerfs, tread breadth and tread radius, etc. It is not efficient in time and cost to analyze the rolling resistance for a great number of real tread pattern, because It requires lots of pattern forming handwork. In order to optimize tread pattern for rolling resistance, the experiment is planed and analyzed by Taguchi's robust design methods. We identified the important design factors for Rolling Resistance, determined the optimal condition and calculated prediction value which is related. Using the experiment data and the analyzed data, we developed the program which could predict Rolling Resistance. It is expected that time and cost may be reduced in designing and developing new tire tread pattern.

타이어 해석을 위한 중첩된 기하 요소의 제거에 대한 연구 (Research on Deleting the Overlapped Geometric Entities of a Tire for Enhancing Analysis Performance)

  • In developing a tire, many CAE analyses are performed to make a better tire. But its meshing work is not easy, and it takes much time. One of the reasons of taking much time is that there are many overlapped geometric entities in CAD data that are modeled in CAD system by CAD engineers. In this study, we studied about the features of the overlapped geometric entities, and the method to find out and delete them. I developed a program using the proposed algorithm, and applied it in meshing tire pattern and tire case. I proved that the time in meshing a tire reduced dramatically by removing overlapped geometric entities by using the developed program.

  • As the needs of consumer on ride comforts increase and the reduction of road traffic noise tightened step by step, the power unit noise emitted by cars has been reduced. It has been found that tire noise dominates noise produced by the power-train when vehicles are driven at high speeds. Therefore, in these days, tire/pavement noise is concerned. Tire/pavement noise is affected by pavement type and vehicle???s transmission loss. Tire noise mechanism is produced by several mechanisms. Especially, on smooth asphalt the periodicity of tread design, pitch sequence is important factor, which have an influence on the reduction of tire noise.

여성운전자시장을 위한 타이어패턴디자인연구 - 금호타이어의 ECSTA브랜드 디자인개발사례를 중심으로- (A Study on Tire Pattern Design for Female Drivers′ Market)

  • 본 연구는 과거 타이어 개발업체들이 주로 기술적 측면을 고려한 타이어패턴개발을 수행하면서 향후 더욱더 치열해지는 타이어시장환경에서 브랜드아이덴티티구축이라는 목표를 달성하지 못함으로써 초래될 수 있는 문제점을 지적하고 타이어패턴개발에 있어서의 디자인의 역할을 강조하였다. 본 연구는 실제로 금호타이어와의 산학프로젝트를 통해 이루어진 내용을 정리한 것이며 타이어개발프로젝트 과정에서 최근 새롭게 떠오르고 있는 틈새시장인 여성운전자를 대상으로 하는 디자인개발을 추진하였다. 디자인 개발은 소비자의 니즈분석을 통하여 디자인컨셉을 결정하였으며 결정된 디자인컨셉을 실현하기 위하여 패턴 방향의 디자인개발과 기술방향의 디자인개발이 동시에 이루어졌다. 도출된 아이디어는 금호타이어 디자인팀과의 회의를 통하여 다양한 요인을 고려하여 결정되었으며 결정된 결과에 따라 최종적으로 2개의 디자인 안이 개발되어 제시되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 타이어산업체에 공학 적 접근과 더불어 디자인개발에 대해서도 더욱 많은 관심과 투자가 이루어 질 수 있는 계기가 됨으로써 향후 더욱 가속화 될 것으로 예상되는 타이어시장에서 효과적인 브랜드아이덴티구축이 가능할 수 있기를 기대한다.
