나로호(KSLV-I) 1차 비행시험 비행안전 운영 (Flight Safety Operation for the 1st Flight Test of Naro(KSLV-I))

  • 한국 최초의 위성발사체 나로호(KSLV-I)의 1차 비행시험이 2009년 8월 25일 전라남도 고흥의 나로우주센터에서 실행되었다. 다량의 연료를 싣고 장거리를 비행하는 우주발사체의 특성상 비행중의 비정상 상황에 대한 대비는 매우 중요하며, 본 논문에서는 KSLV-I 발사운영의 안전확보를 위해 진행된 비행안전 업무를 기술하였다. 비행시험 전, 비행시의 비정상 상황으로 인한 위험도 분석을 위한 비행안전 분석이 진행되어 정량적인 위험성을 평가하였으며, 발사시에는 비행안전시스템을 운영하여 위험에 대비하였다. 비행중 추적데이터를 이용한 순간낙하점 계산과 비행상황 감시는 정상적으로 운영되었으며, 비행종단시스템의 동작없이 비행시험을 완료하였다.

대한민국 공군 조종사의 일일 활동량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Korean Air Force Pilot's Daily Activities)

  • Pilots' fatigue is one of the most serious threat to flying safety. Fatigue is influenced by many factors like sleep deprivation, daily activities, aging, stress, etc. This study was designed to investigate military pilots' daily activities. 20 pilots' daily activity was monitored by activity monitor, Fitbit(R), and the survey about sleep time and flight time was conducted. They placed Fitbit(R) on their waist for 5 days. During flight, they removed Fitbit(R) that had been used for checking their steps and walking distances. It was found that the average sleep time is 6.7 hours for fighter pilots. It was a little shorter than average sleep time for adults, 8 hours. Average steps per day was 6,838 which is more than sedentary worker's but less than active worker's. Their daily activities were not as high as we had expected. But their sleep time was very short. Flight surgeons should recommend them to take a rest and get sleep during rest period.

원격조종항공기 드론 조종기모드 표준화 연구 : 드론 조종기모드 선호도를 중심으로 (A Study on Standardization on the Flight Controller Mode in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Drone : Focused on Drone Controller Mode Preference)

  • Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) controls as a type of unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) is growing rapidly and its flight controller stick disposition is required standardization. We should standardize RPA drone flight control disposition because the flight pilot of RPA is hard to be trained so the flight controller stick differences impairs safety and wastes time and effort of flight controller industry. So this study researches the on-going standardization of RPA drone flight control disposition in Korea and foreign countries. Also this paper analyzes and researches of expert about RPA drone flight controller function and application of flight control mode. I accomplished expert research about standardization plan of unmanned flight control mode and confirm the necessity. Nowadays mode1 and 2 are mostly used in Korea so I carried out preference investigation for two modes. There were 4 preferences choices of RPA drone control mode necessity (importance) and recommendation of standardization modes. They answered that necessity of standardization is important considering pilot training, flight safety and positive development of drone industry. The result of standardization mode preference is that they prefer mode 2 (drone maker 86%, training facilities and research facilities 58%, government bureau 60%). Overall preference result shows that mode 1 24%, mode 1&2 16%, mode 2 60%. So they preferred mode 2 by 60%. The differences between two modes are the direction of throttle and pitch. Direction of throttle and pitch operate opposite way. They prefer mode 2 because mode 2 has similarities of manned flight control mode. Significance of this study is that it showed the necessity of standardization and flight control preference in a quantitative way. It will help drone standardization in related industries and development direction near future.

SH-EMAT를 이용한 알루미늄 박판의 두께감육 평가 (Evaluation of Thickness Reduction in an Aluminum Sheet using SH-EMAT)

  • In this paper, a non-contact method of evaluating the thickness reduction in an aluminum sheet caused by corrosion and friction using SH-EMAT (shear horizontal, electromagnetic acoustic transducer) is described. Since this method is based on the measurement of the time-of-flight and amplitude change of guided waves caused from the thickness reduction, it provides information on the thinning defects. Information was obtained on the changes of the various wave features, such as their time-of-flight and amplitude, and their correlations with the thickness reduction were investigated. The interesting features in the dispersive behavior of selected guided modes were used for the detection of thinning defects. The measurements of these features using SH waves were performed on aluminum specimens with regions thinned by 7.2% to 29.5% of the total thickness. It is shown that the time-of-flight measurement provides an estimation of the thickness reduction and length of the thinning defects.

  • 질병을 진단하기 위하여 환부를 가시화하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 많은 경우 환부의 형태학적 변화를 동반하기 때문이다. 혈관에서의 이러한 형태학적 특성을 가시화하는 기법을 혈관 조영기법 이라 한다. 혈관조영기법은 TOF 기법과 위상대조도 기법, 조영제 증강 기법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 혈관 조영기법에 대한 각각의 원리와 관련된 시퀸스 및 특성에 대하여 소개하고 촬영을 통한 데이터 획득후의 데이터 후처리의 과정을 기술하였으며 인체에 응용의 최근 사례들을 소개하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 표적이 고정되고 유도탄의 속도가 일정하다고 가정하고, 3차원 공간에서 비행 경로각을 이용하여 비행시간과 충돌각을 동시에 제어하는 호밍 유도법칙을 제안한다. 유도탄 비행궤적의 비행 경로각을 독립변수로 하여 비선형 모델을 구성한다. 제안한 호밍 유도법칙이 종말 종속 충돌각과 비행시간 제어가 가능하며, 목표물에 정확히 도달하는 과정을 보여준다. 그리고 동시공격시나리오에도 적용할 수 있다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안한 유도법칙의 성능을 확인한다.

Airline In-flight Meal Demand Forecasting with Neural Networks and Time Series Models

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce a more efficient forecasting technique, which could help result the reduction of cost in removing the waste of airline in-flight meals. We will use a neural network approach known to many researchers as the “Outstanding Forecasting Technique”. We employed a multi-layer perceptron neural network using a backpropagation algorithm. We also suggested using other related information to improve the forecasting performances of neural networks. We divided the data into three sets, which are training data set, cross validation data set, and test data set. Time lag variables are still employed in our model according to the general view of time series forecasting. We measured the accuracy of our model by “Mean Square Error”(MSE). The suggested model proved most excellent in serving economy class in-flight meals. Forecasting the exact amount of meals needed for each airline could reduce the waste of meals and therefore, lead to the reduction of cost. Better yet, it could enhance the cost competition of each airline, keep the schedules on time, and lead to better service.

SW Program Development of a Real-Time Flight Data Acquisition and Analysis System for EO/IR Pod

  • To develop a high-resolution electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) payload to be mounted on a high-speed and performance fighter aircraft in an external POD for acquiring daytime and nighttime image information on tactical targets, simulations, including flight environments and maneuvers, should be performed. Such simulations are pertinent to predicting the performance of several variables, such as aerodynamic force and inertia load acting on the payload. This paper describes the development of a flight data acquisition and analysis system based on flight simulation software (SW) for mission simulation of super-maneuverability fighter equipped with EO/IR payload. The effectiveness of the system is verified through comparison with actual flight data. The proposed flight data acquisition and analysis system based on FlightGear can be used as an M&S tool for system performance analysis in the development of the EO/IR payload.
