In this paper, we propose improved maximum access delay time, noise variance, and power delay profile (PDP) estimation schemes for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system in multipath fading channels. To this end, we adopt the approximate maximum likelihood (ML) estimation strategy. For the first step, the log-likelihood function (LLF) of the received OFDM symbols is derived by utilizing only the cyclic redundancy induced by cyclic prefix (CP) without additional information. Then, the set of the initial path powers is sub-optimally obtained to maximize the derived LLF. In the second step, we can select a subset of the initial path power set, i.e. the maximum access delay time, so as to maximize the modified LLF. Through numerical simulations, the benefit of the proposed method is verified by comparison with the existing methods in terms of normalized mean square error, erroneous detection, and good detection probabilities.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), which employs orthogonal overlapping subcarriers to modulate the signals, has been attracted much attention in recent time as a favorable option for future generation wireless networks due to its ability to overcome many impairments in wireless channels. Since OFDM is a multi-carrier system adaptive modulation techniques can be effectively and efficiently used to enhance the system performance in terms of both BER and overall system capacity. This paper discusses a COFDM-CDMA system with adaptive modulation schemes for future generation wireless networks.

In this paper, an interchannel interference (ICI) and symbol error probability for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) on the two-ray fading environment are obtained analytically. From the analysis results, it is found that the ICI is a Gaussian random variable and its variance depends on the subchannel location, normalized time delay, and the number of subchannels. In addition, the OFDM signal without guard interveal is found to yield an irreducible error even at high signal to noise ratio due to the ICI.

A novel stereo 3D LCD for passive interference filter glasses is presented. A demonstrator based on a standard 120Hz LCD was set up. Stereoscopic image separation was realized in a time-sequential mode using a LED-based scanning backlight with two complementary spectra. A stereo brightness of 3 cd/$m^2$ and a channel separation of 30:1 were achieved.

SDI has been developing mobile 3D display for years. For mobile applications, we adapted parallax barrier method. We have developed auto stereoscopic swing 3D display in which people can 3D image in both portrait and landscape mode. Furthermore to increase 3D resolution, we have developed a high resolution 3D display using time division multiplexing parallax barrier method

In this paper, we propose a robust trellis coded OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system for wireless communications over frequency selective fading channels. Computer simulations show that the proposed system achieves the better frame error rate(FER) performance as compared with the conventional Space time coded OFDM system in the correlated channel with multiple transmitter antennas.

This paper proposes a CP-OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing using Circular Polarization) system for improving the system performance. The circular polarization has a characteristic that it cannot receive the reflected waves which are reflected by odd times. By reducing the influences of the reflected waves, the circular polarization can reduce the time delay spread and the inter-channel interference. The guard interval needed for the OFDM frame can be minimized and the orthogonality between subchannels can be improved by using circular polarization. Therefore the proposed CP-OFDM system can improve the system performance as well as the spectrum efficiency. Both theoretical analysis and system simulation results are described.

The super multi-view (SMV) display and the high-density directional (HDD) display were proposed as a natural 3D display that is free from the visual fatigue caused by the accommodation-vergence conflict and provides smooth motion parallax. The multi-projection system, the flat-panel system, and the time-multiplexing system are used to construct the HDD displays. The recent progress of the HDD 3D display is reviewed.

A digital telephone set for a voice/data PABX has been implemented with 3 semicustom IC`s, and one-chip microprocessor, etc. It adopts TCM(Time Compression Multiplexing) digital transmission method, and has the capacity of 144kb/s full-duplex digital transmission.

This paper presents one method to resolve the end-to-end digital connectivity through 2-wire subscriber loop. This system which consists of the subscriber`s device and the line termination device makes use of the advantages of time compressed multiplexing and modified DPSK. Experimental results show that the transmission range of the lab test covers 2km and that of the field test covers 1.5km.
