Co-scheduling Technique of Dataflow Applications with Shared Processor Allocation (프로세서 공유를 이용한 데이터 플로우 어플리케이션의 동시 스케줄링 기법)

  • When multiple applications are running concurrently on a multi-processor system, interferences between applications make it difficult to guarantee real-time constraints. We propose a novel interference analysis technique that allows sharing of share processors among dataflow applications, while satisfying real-time constraints. Based on the interference analysis, we develop a co-scheduling technique that aims to minimize the resource usage. Compared to an existent technique that involves converting application graphs to real-time tasks, the proposed technique shows better results in terms of resource usage, especially when it is applied to applications with tight time constraints.

System Infrastructure of Efficient Web Cluster System to Decrease the Response Time using the Load Distribution Algorithm (부하분산 알고리즘을 적용하여 반응시간을 감소시키는 웹 클러스터 시스템 구축)

  • In this paper, we consider the methodology of efficient resource usage, specially web clustering system. We develope an algorithm that distributes the load on the web cluster system to use the system resources, such as system memory equally. The response time is chosen as a performance measure on the various clustering models. And based on the concurrent user to the web cluster system, the response time is also examined as the number of users increases. Simulation experience with this algorithm shows that the response time seems to have a good results compare to those with the other algorithm. And, also the effectiveness of clustered system becomes better as long as the number of concurrent user increases. The usage of developed algorithm is more useful when the system consists of many different sub-systems, a heterogeneous clustering system.

Generational transmission of household works from mothers to married daughters (가사노동의 모녀간 세대전달)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how household work was transmitted from mothers to their married daughters. The results of this study were as follows: First, mothers reported generally higher scores than their married daughters regarding the consciousness and performance of household work an exception in the usage level of home equipments. Second, married daughters' consciousness and performance of household work were positively correlated with those of mothers. The highest correlation was found in the usage level of home equipments and the lowest correlation was in the amount of time using household work helper. Third, married daughter's consciousness and performance of household work were significantly influenced by their mothers. It was especially so in daughter's usage level of home equipments. Accordingly, the results of this study support the existence of generational transmission of household work from mothers to their married daughters with regard to its c nsciousness and performance.

Eversion Carotid Endarterectomy : A Short Review

  • Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is the main procedure in carotid surgery, as well as the most frequent vascular procedure. Two techniques of CEA are available : eversion and conventional plus patch angioplasty. Eversion CEA is anatomic procedure that reduces ischemic and total operative time. Simultaneous correction of the joined carotid kinking and coiling is possible, easy and safe, while the usage of patch is excluded. Thanks to oblique shape of anastomosis, eversion CEA is associated with low risk of long-term restenosis. The false anastomotic aneurysms occurrence is very rare, almost impossible after eversion CEA. However, the usage of carotid shunt during eversion CEA is not always simple, while proximal or distal extension of the carotid plaque can make eversion CEA more difficult and risky. Eversion CEA should be the first choice in carotid surgery. Conventional CEA is indicated in cases when carotid plaque is extended more than usual, as well as, if the usage of carotid shunt is necessary.

  • It is important that proving ground damage is correlated with target customer usage. This paper describes the test mode for durability test of active suspension control system for proving ground correlation and optimization. Acceleration, strain, wheel force and other types of data are collected on a vehicle as it traverses different proving ground surfaces. The primary objective of the analysis is to determine which mixture of proving ground surfaces offers the best representation of customer usage while minimizing the total test time. And durability testing offers the best way to assess the capability of a product to reach its reliability target. The test should be representative of the real environmental load and replicate the same customer usage.

  • The ABC analysis is a widely used inventory control technique which consists of classifying inventory items into three categories according to annual dollar usage and concentrating managerial efforts on the high value items. But its major weakness is that the classification is somewhat arbitrary and is made in the light of single criterion, the annual usage. In this paper, a modified approach using TOPSIS is proposed where 1) the inventory items are ranked, rather than classified into three categories, in the order of relative importance and 2) the latter is determined by considering the multiple criteria such as annual usage, difficulty of procurement, lead time and shelf life. A case study was performed with the field data from a company producing electronical parts. The rank order produced by TOPSIS was judged quite reasonable by the company inventory control manager.

  • Frequency occupancy data can provide information on both the actual ratio of usage of individual frequency channels and the average ratio of usage of these frequency bands so that the reserved capacity of the spectrum can be estimated. Such an estimate can be used for the planning of additional spectrum allocations and as a means of assessing the impact of new technologies on spectrum usage. In this paper, we introduce about the frequency occu- pancy measurement system that is developed in Korea. And, we introduce Frequency Occupancy Ratio with a time period and with a area zone by using radio monitoing measurement datas.

  • In this paper has studied an enhanced usage parameter control algorithm, which is one of the preventive traffic control method in ATM networks. The proposed algorithm is based on the CLP(Cell Loss Priority) bit in the ATM cell header. This algorithm can eliminate the measurement phasing problem in cell conformance testing in ATM networks. The proposed algorithm can minimize the cell loss ratio of high priority cell(CLP = 0) and resolve the burstiness of eel]s which may be generated in the multiplexing and demultiplexing procedure. For the performance evaluation, we have simulated the proposed algorithm with discrete time input traffic model and the results show that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better than that of ITU-T usage parameter control algorithm.

  • This paper is concerned with data center remote management service for demanding forecasting and reduction of energy usage. More particularly, intelligent server rack, mounted on inside of the data center, collects information about energy usage and temperature per server. Using this information, management platform forecasts energy demand in the future and automatically makes report according green environment raw. By providing the remote management service through remote terminals, users are not tied to a time and place to control device inside the data center. In this way, the data center remote management service enhances operability of the facility.

  • When generating layout schemes, both the material usage and practicality of the cutting process should be considered. This paper presents a two-section algorithm for generating guillotine-cutting schemes of rectangular blanks. It simplifies the cutting process by allowing only one size of blanks to appear in any rectangular block. The algorithm uses an implicit enumeration and a linear programming optimal cutting scheme to maximize the material usage. The algorithm was tested on some benchmark problems in the literature, and compared with the three types of layout scheme algorithm. The experimental results show that the algorithm is effective both in computation time and in material usage.
