  • This paper investigated the characteristics of transient overvoltages on the tower caused by time varying tower footing resistance in the path of lightning stroke current entering earth on transmission lines. The tower with time varying tower footing resistance was simulated and the transient overvoltageson the tower due to lightning stroke current were computer by Nodal Solution Method. From the results, it was found that the determination of the steady state values as a limit of inductive tower footing resistance causes higher transient overvoltages than CFO voltages of insulator strings and V-T characteristics of the insulator strings should be considered for computation of backflashover rate.

  • In this paper, a software release model is presented to determine the optimum testing time with consideration of software error type. The software errors are classified into two types, major and minor errors. The software testing is continued until the Nth major error is discovered and corrected. The total cost needed before and after testing time is modeled under nonhomogeneous Poisson error correction model. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the results.

The suggested filter can estimate the system state vector and the unknown inputs simultaneously As an extension of the filter a fault diagnosis filter for linear discrete-time stochastic systems with unknown inputs and noises is presented for each filters the optimal gain determination methods which minimize the variance of the state reconstruction errorare presented. Finally the usability of the filtersis shown via numerical examples.

  • In this article an economic life test sampling plan is considered for repairable products when the products in each lot have the same interfailure time distribution, but the mean time between failure (MTBF) of a lot varies from lot to lot according to a known prior distribution. A cost model is constructed which consists of test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Determination of the optimal plan which minimizes the expected average cost per lot is discussed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the use of the proposed sampling plans and sensitivity analyses for parameters of the prior distribution are performed.

  • A new approach to conducting the vibration parameters identification algorithm is proposed. The approach employs the concept of modal amplitude ratio implemented in a mode shape estimation. The accuracy of the improved Ibrahim Time Domain identification algorithm in extracting structural modal parameters from free response functions has been studied using computer simulated data for 9 stations on the two-span continuous beam. Simulated responses from the lumped and distributed parameter system demonstrate that this algorithm produces excellent results, even in the 300% noise response.

  • Precise determination of satellite positions is necessary to improve positioning accuracy in GNSS. In this study, GLONASS orbits were predicted from broadcast ephemeris using the 4th-order Runge-Kutta numerical integration method and their accuracy dependence on the integration step and the integration time was analyzed. The 3D RMS (Root Mean Square) differences between the results from I-second integration step and 300-second integration step was about 3 cm, but the processing time was one hundred times less for the I-second integration time case. For trials of different integration times, the 3D RMS errors were 8.3 m, 187.3 m, and 661.5 m for 30-, 150-, and 300-minutes of integration time, respectively. Though this integration-time analysis, we concluded that the accuracy gets higher with a shorter integration time. Thus we suggest forward and backward integration methods to improve GLONASS positioning accuracy, and with this method we can achieve a 5-meter level of 3-D orbit accuracy.

  • This paper introduces the time-misalignment error between multiple range measurements acquired by an onboard distance measuring equipment (DME) interrogator and proposes an efficient position determination method that can mitigate the negative effects of the time-misalignment error. The introduced time-misalignment error does not occur in conventional utilization of DME combined with VHF omnidirectional range (VOR). The proposed position determination method projects all the DME range measurements acquired irregularly during an interval to the same time instance where the aircraft position is determined. By the simulation utilizing a representative aircraft trajectory, it is shown that it is possible to estimate the horizontal position accurately without any changes of ground DME facilities.

  • This study was carried out to improve the analytical method for determination of germanium in plants by atomic absorption spectrometry with graphite furnace. For the decomposition of plant samples, the mixed acid of $HNO_3+HClO_4+H_2SO_4$(10 : 4 : 1, v/v) was used. Under this condition, time requirement for the decomposition was 4~5 days and recovery rate was more than 98%. Solution for filling up to constant volume after decomposition was 0.1M acetic acid-sodium acetate. Detection limit for determination of germanium was 0.02 ppm by atomic absorption spectrometry with graphite furnace and argon gas. These results were corresponded with the above-mentioned research projects for improving the determination method of germanium in plants.

  • Optimal determination of cluster size has an effect on the result of clustering. In K-means algorithm, the difference of clustering performance is large by initial K. But the initial cluster size is determined by prior knowledge or subjectivity in most clustering process. This subjective determination may not be optimal. In this Paper, the genetic algorithm based optimal determination approach of cluster size is proposed for automatic determination of cluster size and performance upgrading of its result. The initial population based on attribution is generated for searching optimal cluster size. The fitness value is defined the inverse of dissimilarity summation. So this is converged to upgraded total performance. The mutation operation is used for local minima problem. Finally, the re-sampling of bootstrapping is used for computational time cost.

  • The purpose of this study was to empirically examine the effects of salespeople's self-determination, shared value; and communication satisfaction on their job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention in a fashion company. Questionnaires were administered to 475 salespeople who worked in fashion shop at the time of the study. The data was analyzed via factor analysis, correlation analysis, and a structural equation model. The results indicated that self-determination was extracted as autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Only the relatedness of self-determination factors was positively correlated with formal and informal communication satisfaction. In addition, recognizing hared value was positively correlated with formal and informal communication satisfaction; whereas, the practice of shared value was positively correlated with formal, but not informal communication satisfaction. Formal communication satisfaction was significantly correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conversely, informal communication satisfaction was significantly correlated with job satisfaction, but was not related to organizational commitment. Finally, job satisfaction was significantly correlated with organizational commitment and negatively correlated with turnover intention. Moreover, organizational commitment was negatively correlated with turnover intention. The implications of this research for human resources management within fashion companies are discussed in the concluding section of this paper.
