  • Directional regression (DR; Li and Wang, 2007) is well-known as an exhaustive sufficient dimension reduction method, and performs well in complex regression models to have linear and nonlinear trends. However, the extension of DR is not well-done upto date, so we will extend DR to accommodate multivariate regression and large p-small n regression. We propose three versions of DR for multivariate regression and discuss how DR is applicable for the latter regression case. Numerical studies confirm that DR is robust to the number of clusters and the choice of hierarchical-clustering or pooled DR.

  • The purpose of present study was to examine how each clothes colors on the basis of 5YR 7/3 face color affect clothes colors images as follows : (1) what general consciousness of clothes colors in, (2) how the impression of the harmony of 5YR 7/3 face color and clothes colors is, (3) when we divide clothes colors according to the property of colors- chromatic color and achromatic color, cool color.neutral color.warm color, in tone, in color colume- if there is the difference of visual evaluation, (4) image analysis of 45 clothes colors with the view of each kind of adjectives. The result of this study is as the following: 1. As a result of the analysis of general consciousness on clothes colors, when subjects chose clothes, they most considered colors and they also considered their face colors. They would choose the color of clothes, which were becoming to their having clothes colors or their face colors when they bought clothes. 2. The impressions of coordination of 5YR 7/3 face color and clothes colors consisted of three dimensions - evaluation, activity and harmony. 3. It was known that as a result of the analysis of visual evalutional differences according to dividing the clothes colors by property of colors, there were such notable differences that they might effect the coordination images of face color and clothes colors differently. 4. After arranging 45 clothes colors on the graphs in 17 adjectives, gethering them thogether in each dimension and as the result of the analysis in the evaluation dimension, estimation of yellow, light green column were low and that of achromatic colors were high. That is, it was known that the evalution dimension was concerned with hue of the color properties. In activity dimension, there were different image according to each adjectives. That is, it was known that the evalution dimension was concerned with hue of the color properties. In activity dimension, there were different image according to each adjectives. That is, it was known that the activity demension was concerned with value and chroma of the color properties. In harmony dimension, achromatic columm was high and yellow, green yellow, vivid green columm were low in harmony. That is, it was known that the harmony demension was concerned with hue of the color properties.

  • This paper shows development of 1-3 dimensional hybrid mesh method to analysis flow induced by ultra-high speed vehicle inside a long distance tunnel. For three-dimensional analysis of the tunnel system many meshes are required. However it is not efficient to calculate the whole tunnel system in three-dimension. Therefore in this paper, three-dimension meshes was used to describe stations, shafts and around vehicle, and one-dimension meshes was used to describe the tunnel except these three sections. And unsteady flow analysis of the ultra-high speed vehicle was performed with UDFs in commercial software, Ansys vr. 12.0.

  • Integral imaging is an attractive three-dimensional display technique providing full-parallax full-color three-dimensional images in real-time without any viewing aids. In this paper, we present the recent progress on the three-dimensional display based on integral imaging focusing on its depth and viewing angle enhancement and the three-dimension/twodimension convertibility.

  • In the present paper, we have studied Miao-Tam equation on three dimensional almost coKähler manifolds. We have also proved that there does not exist non-trivial solution of Miao-Tam equation on the said manifolds if the dimension is greater than three. Also we give an example to verify the deduced results.

  • This study was performed the analysis of seven kinds of the hight school chemistry II textbooks based on the 6th curriculum. Particularly, inquiry activity part was analyzed by the three dimension framework which consists of inquiry content dimension, inquiry process dimension and inquiry context dimension. In the analysis of the inquiry content dimension of inquiry activities, the total number of themes in seven kinds of textbook was 212. And the number of inquiry activities in seven kinds of textbook was diverse: A textbook had 28, B textbook 25, C textbook 31, D textbook 35, E textbook 31, F textbook 29 and G textbook 33. As for the avaerage number of inquiry activities of each chapter, chapter I "Material Science" is 3.00(9.91${\%}$), chapter II "Atomic Structure and Periodic Table" 4.57(15.1${\%}$), chapter III "Chemical Bonding and Compound" 6.86(22.6${\%}$), chapter IV "State of Matter and Solution" 7.00(23.1${\%}$), chapter V "Chemical Reaction" 8.86(29.2${\%}$). For the analysis of inquiry process dimension, it follows in the order of 'observation and measuring (66.7${\%}$)', 'Interpreting data and formulating generalizations (26.5${\%}$)', 'seeing a problem and seeking ways to solve it (4.1%)', and 'building, testing and revising the theoretical model (2.7${\%}$)'. As for the analysis of the inquiry context dimension, the scientific context occupied 90.5${\%}$, the individual context 4.3${\%}$, the social context 0.9${\%}$, and the technical context 4.3${\%}$. It shows that the proportion of STS(Science-Technology-Society) related contents in inquiry activities was only 9.5${\%}$.

  • This study was performed the analysis of four kinds of common science textbooks based on the 6th curriculum. Particularly, inquiry activity part was analyzed by the three dimension framework which consists of inquiry content dimension, inquiry process dimension and inquiry context dimension. In the analysis of the inquiry content dimension of inquiry activities, the contents revised by 6th curriculum of common science textbook was accomplished through various inquiry activities. The number of inquiry activity in four textbooks was similar as about 16. The For the analysis of inquiry process dimension, 'interpreting data and formulating generalizations' category (39.1%) was most emphasized and the categories of 'observation and measuring'(30.8%), and 'building, testing and revising the theoretical model' (16.5 %), 'seeing a problem and seeking ways to solve it' (13.5%) follow in order. As for the analysis of the inquiry context dimension, the proportion of STS related contents in inquiry activities was only 18%. So, we propose that STS related contents would increase the proportion for the following textbook.

  • This letter presents Progression-Preserving Projection, a dimension reduction technique that finds a linear projection that maps a high-dimensional sensor dataset into a two- or three-dimensional subspace with a particularly useful property for visual exploration. As a demonstration of its effectiveness as a visual exploration and diagnostic means, we empirically evaluate the proposed technique over a dataset acquired from our own virtual-reality-enhanced ball-intercepting training system designed to promote the upper extremity movement skills of individuals recovering from stroke-related hemiparesis.

  • The relation between the aerodynamic diameter and some morphological parameters was studied for flame-generated aggregates. $SiO_{2}$ aggregates were generated from $SiCl_{4}$ in premixed methane/air flames. These aggregates were sampled and classified according to their aerodynamic diameter by a cascade impactor; moreover, computer program was developed and tested to find the equivalent area diameter and the fractal dimension of the aggregates. We calculated the parameters from the digitized images of the aggregate TEM micrographs. The aerodynamic diameters of the sampled aggregates were larger than $0.4{\mu}m$ in this experiment. In most cases, fractal dimension of their projection image was very close to 2.0 for these large aggregates. It was found that the equivalent area diameter of these aggregates was approximately three times larger than the Stokes' diameter of them.
