  • Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity caused by lateral curvature of the spine. The existing braces used to correct the posture were some drawbacks such as inconvenience, tightness as well as unfitness to wear. In this study, we devised a posture guidance system in order to monitor a posture continuously and lead to pose correctly and a new method fur measuring a Cobb's angle value in third dimension based on two 3-axis accelerometers. As a result, the correlation coefficients between desired and measured angles were and standard error between desired and measured angles were 0.99, 1.32(x-axis), 0.99 and 1.10(y-axis), respectively. The devised system showed good potential for the optimal posture guide and an early detection of scoliosis.

  • Human dummies are essential tools in the development of such sensible products as vehicles. Dummies are actively used not only in reach and view field tests, major ergonomic evaluations, but also in impact tests and perception evaluations. This study attempts to obtain possible correlations of human body segments from Korean anthropometric data. The investigation is focused on the description of human and dummy geometric and inertial properties. The modeling approach suggested is based on rigid body dynamics using fifteen individual body segments connected by joints. The segments are joined at locations representing the physical joints of the human body and have the mass of the body between body joints. For visualization, a three-dimension graphic technique is used ...

  • The purpose of this study is to present the enlargement of the area of the expression. Thish process takes steps as follows : 1)To inquiry the expressed examples in modern fashion through plasticizing the geometric cubic. 2) Through this process to sruvey the potential of the development inherent in fashion design possibility. 3) At the same time to establish the status of fashion as a part of the Plastic Art. This study is to re-illuminate the plasticity expressed in modern fashion. The result of this study testified that in the relation between fashion and the human body the plastic characteristics of geometric cubic enlarged the special three-dimension effect and in the connection of form and from there is a potential possibility of the way of organization in discovering and establishing the world of the new form through the temperate organization.

  • In this paper, we study the bounds of the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of the Frobenius endomorphism of the Jacobian of dimension three over a finite field. We provide explicitly computable bounds for the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial. In addition, we present the counting points algorithm for computing a group of the Jacobian of genus 3 hyperelliptic curves over a finite field with large characteristic. Based on these bounds, we found an efficient search space that was used in the counting points algorithm on genus 3 curves. The algorithm was explained and verified through simple examples.

  • RP(Rapid Prototyping) technology is gaining its popularity in building a prototype in all industries. SLS(Slective Laser Sintering) is one of RP technologies, which is focused on tooling processes as well as three dimension solid model. There are several factors, the length and the cross-sectional area of a part, that have an effect on build setup in SLS process. In this paper, the computation on geometrical relationship is used to slice STL file and to estimate these factors. Based on these values, the build setup parameters such as the heating temperature, the laser power, and the powder cartridge feed rate are determined by neural network approaches. The test results show that the computation time is saved and the neural network approach is able to apply to get the optimal parameters of build process within an acceptable error rate.

  • Seeing is an intelligent act. Retina is the most important part among the components of eye which is comprised of iris, pupil, lens, optic disk, and so forth. Because retina acts like a photo receiver to detect light from every object, if damaged, animals have a severe problem to live along with themselves and sometimes they lose their sight. In the ophthalmology, doctors use special instrument to see exact retina image of object and operate the surgery by rotating focus control knob. In this study, a basic test is done to achieve the auto focus control instrument. Specially made sledge and attenuator are installed on the optic bed to change the distance and laser power between the first reflective mirror and the second one. Control panel which is compiled by Visual C t t to control stepping motors ,laser power and photodiode are implemented with ADA-board.

  • The two major classes of magnetic resonance (MR) contrast agents are paramagnetic contrast agents, usually based on chelates of gadolinium generating T1 positive signal enhancement, and super-paramagnetic contrast agents that use mono- or polycrystalline iron oxide to generate strong T2 negative contrast in MR images. These paramagnetic or super-paramagnetic complexes are used to develop new contrast agents that can target the specific molecular marker of the cells or tan be activated to report on the physiological status or metabolic activity of biological systems. In molecular imaging science, MR imaging has emerged as a leading technique because it provides high-resolution three-dimension maps of the living subject. The future of molecular MR imaging is promising as advancements in hardware, contrast agents, and image acquisition methods coalesce to bring high resolution in vivo imaging to the biochemical sciences and to patient care.

  • This paper introduces a newly designed pendulum system that enables the more accurate boservation of dynamic behaviour arising from both horizontal and vertical(i.e. two dimension) excitation. First, experiments were carried out to examine the frequency responses of the devised pendulum system. Interestingly, experimental results for the three excitation angles of 22, 32 and 48 degree show 'new' jump phenomena. For the further understanding of these phenomena, experimental investigationhas been made to identify the equation of motion of the pendulum system from experimental data. This attempt has revealed that the viscous, coulomb and aerodynamic damping factors are involved in the equation of motion. By applying the Ritz averaging method to the equation, it becomes apparent that the jumping phenomena of the pendulum system in this work is more theoretically understood.

  • Appraisal format is the methods that is used to gether informations related to performance behaviors. Appraisal format has descriptive characteristics including evalustion dimensions, anchors, scales. The purpose of this paper is to study the effectiveness of a format characteristics of the appraisal results through literature review and to explore more approprate appraisal format through comparing three types of formats, graphic scales, BARS, BOS. According to the results, rating format's characteristics can affect the quality of appreisa results in that appraisal format can provide rators with evaluation standards which help raters to evaluate effectively. Specific dimensions are better than gernal one dimension. The effectiveness of scale in some degrees depends on development procedure. In general anchors are important to reduce rating errors and behavioral anchors are better than numeric anchors, The systematically developed BARS and BOS can reduce rating erros but graphic scales has limitstions.

  • In the model tested here, individual innovative work behavior is considered as the outcome of two antecedent factors-empowerment and organizational supports. The relationships between those variables and innovative work behavior are analyzed form the data collected through a questionnaire survey of 389 employees in five general hospitals. Results of multiple regression analyses show that three dimensions of empowerment-meaning, competence, and impact, and supports from organizational culture have significant effects on innovative work behavior whereas the effects of choice dimension of empowerment and managerial supports are not significant. These results emphasize the importance of empowerment and innovation oriented organizational culture for individual members' innovative work behavior. Theoretical and practical Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.
