  • Since a ductile coupled shear wall system is the primary seismic load resisting systems of many structures, a coupling beams of these system must exhibit excellent ductility and energy absorption capacity. In this paper, the seismic response of coupled shear wall system is discussed. The cyclic response of steel coupling beams embedded into reinforced concrete boundary elements was studied. Three half-scale subassemblies representing a portion of a prototype structure were designed. constructed, and tested. The main test variables were the connection details of hybrid coupled shear wall. These efforts have resulted in details for increasing the seismic capacity of steel coupling beam in the seismic behavior of buildings.

주행에너지 절약을 위한 철도차량의 효율적 열차주행 패턴 (Efficient Driving Pattern of the Railway Vehicles for Driving Energy Saving)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient driving pattern which consumes less energy for driving from one station to next. Three driving patterns for four sections in the No. 5 subway line of Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corp. are compared for the energy consumption, the maximum speed, and the powering time. It turns out that the powering time and the maximum speed should be decreased as much as possible in order to achieve the efficient driving.

  • To invigorate the tapped-inductor boost (TIB) topology in emerging high step-up applications for off-grid products, a lossless snubber consisting of two capacitors and three diodes is proposed. Since the switch voltage stress is minimized in the proposed circuit, it is allowed to use a device with a lower cost, higher efficiency, and higher availability. Moreover, since the leakage inductance is fully utilized, no effort to minimize it is required. This allows for a highly productive and cost-effective design of the tapped-inductor. The proposed circuit also shows a high step-up ratio and provides relaxation of the switching loss and diode reverse-recovery. In this paper, the operation is analyzed in detail, the steady-state equation is derived, and the design considerations are discussed. Some experimental results are provided to confirm the validity of the proposed circuit.

  • This study deals with output characteristics of a hybrid power generation system for a vehicle such as a crane, a fire engine, and a wingbody. The proposed method obtains the commercial AC voltage of single phase 220V/60Hz by connecting a variable speed three-phase PMSG(Permanent magnetic synchronous generator) and an AC/DC/AC power converter to PTO (Power take off) or hydraulic motor. The proposed system is fabricated and tested to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed system.

  • 부하 시스템의 용량 증대와 중요도에 따른 신뢰성 향상을 위해 Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS)의 병렬운전 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문은 droop특성을 적용한 3상 UPS의 병렬운전 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 또, 기존의 droop 제어기를 적용한 UPS의 plug-and-play(PnP) 운전시 순환 전류의 원인을 분석하고 PnP 운전이 가능한 droop 제어기를 제안한다. 그리고 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 PSIM을 통해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • We report a new patterning technique of inorganic materials by using thin-film transfer printing (TFTP) with atomic layer deposition. This method consists of the atomic layer deposition (ALD) of inorganic thin film and a nanotransfer printing (nTP) that is based on a water-mediated transfer process. In the TFTP method, the Al2O3 ALD growth occurs on FTS-coated PDMS stamp without specific chemical species, such as hydroxyl group. The CF3-terminated alkylsiloxane monolayer, which is coated on PDMS stamp, provides a weak adhesion between the deposited Al2O3 and stamp, and promotes the easy and complete release of Al2O3 film from the stamp. And also, the water layer serves as an adhesion layer to provide good conformal contact and form strong covalent bonding between the Al2O3 layer and Si substrate. Thus, the TFTP technique is potentially useful for making nanochannels of various inorganic materials.

  • 본 논문은 고압조건에서 동축 와류형 분사기의 분무특성 파악을 위한 연구로서 3종류의 분사기가 사용되었으며, 함몰길이와 연료 분사기의 형태에 따른 분무특성을 확인하였다. 또한, 실제 연소기에 서 발생되는 연소압력과 수류 실험에서의 압력 상사조건을 계산하여 실험을 수행하여 분사압에 따른 유량변화, 분무각, 질량분포, 평균 액적크기 등의 분무특성이 측정되었다.

Region-wise evaluation of gamma-ray exposure dose in decontamination operation after a nuclear accident

  • The gamma-ray exposure doses in decontamination operation after a nuclear accident were evaluated with a consideration of various geometrical conditions and specific gamma-ray energies. The calculation domain is organized with three residence types and each form is divided into two kinds of geometrical arrangements. The position-wise air KERMA values were calculated with an assumption of evenly distributed gamma-ray source based on Monte Carlo radiation transport analysis using the MCNP code. The radioactivity is initially set to be unity to be multiplied by the deposition value measured in the actual accident condition. The workforce data set depending on the target object was determined by modifying the Fukushima report. The external exposure doses for decontamination workers were derived from the calculated KERMA values and the workforce analysis. These results can be used to efficiently determine the workforce required by the characteristics of the area and the structure to be decontaminated within the dose limits.

Diversity of Culturable Bacteria Associated with Hard Coral from the Antarctic Ross Sea

  • The bacterial diversity of an Antarctic hard coral, Errina fissurata, was examined by isolating bacterial colonies from crushed coral tissue and by sequencing their 16S rRNA gene. From the analyzed results, the bacteria were classified as Actinobacteria (56%), Firmicutes (35%) and Proteobacteria (9%). The thirty-four isolates were cultured in liquid media at different temperatures and their growth was assessed over time. The majority of the isolates displayed their highest growth rate at 25℃ during the first three days of cultivation, even though the coral was from a cold environment. Nevertheless, strains showing their highest growth rate at low temperatures (15℃ and 4℃) were also found. This study reports the composition of an Antarctic hard coral-associated culturable bacterial community and their growth behavior at different temperatures.

  • In this study, comparison of the quality standard of chemical admixtures between Korea and China is conducted. It is classified into three types of water reducing agents: standard, delayed, and accelerated according to the sensitivity and strength improvement of the sensitivity and strength of the agent. However, Chinese standards classify reducing agents only as standard, high efficiency, and high performance, and do not add AE agents into water reducing agent. On the other hand, that of Korea has a classification regulation for reducing agents added with AE agents.
