  • There are five known species of the genus Tmarus (Thomisidae) in Korea to date: Tmarus horvathi Kulczyn'ski, 1895, Tmarus koreanus Paik, 1973, Tmarus orientalis Schenkel, 1963, Tmarus piger (Walckenaer, 1802) and Tmarus rimosus Paik, 1973. Two females of Tmarus yaginumai Ono, 1977, which was previously only known in Japan, were collected by sweep net between the shrubs at hillocks near the coast of Korea and are described with taxonomic illustrations.

  • This paper gives a brief introduction of taxonmic knowledge of Thomisidae and Philodromidae. The materials and papers quoted here mainly from Dr. Song. I hope that information given in the Korean text will be useful to the study of taxonomy of the Famillies Thomisidae and Philodromidae in Asia.

  • A new species, Xysticus jiangi n. sp. is described based on the specimens collected in Hunan province, China. X. jiangi is similar to X. chui, but distinguished by smaller spermathecae, distinct copulatory canals, and Y-shaped median apophysis. In addition, basal apophysis of tegulum is well developed, compared to that of the latter.

  • Two species of the genus Xysticus from Korea are revised with detailed illustrations, spination of each leg, trichobothrium patterns and SEM photographs. The female of X. concretus Utochkin, 1968 is described for the first time and Xysticus lepnevae Utochkin, 1968 from Korea represent the species' southernmost known records. The latter species is distinguished by its male palpal organs with hooked median apophysis, developed ventral tibial apophysis and expanded retrolateral tibial apopysis, two tegular sutures and by it epigynum with triangular atrium and large copulatory ducts circled, with broadly transparent membrane. Furthermore, the Xysticus spiders, previously misidentified in Korea as male of X. dichotomus Paik, 1973 and female of X. bifurcus Paik, 1973 are in fact the true X. concretus.

  • Two species of the genus Oxytate L. Koch, 1878 have been recorded in Korea to date. The spider fauna was surveyed in the mountainous terrain of Mt. Hallasan National Park in 2019. A female of Oxytate lobia sp. nov. was collected with a sweep net between shrubs in mixed forests during a seasonal spider survey and is described with measurements, morphological illustrations, and a diagnosis. The new species can be easily distinguished from similar species within the genus by the long copulatory duct conjugated with a spermatheca, a pair of triangular pits at the bottom, and no ditches.
