The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the clinical decision making ability of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Data were collected from 174 nurses working in long-term care hospitals in G-do from October 11 to December 10, 2021. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and stepwise multiple regression through the SPSS 23.0. As a result of the study, the clinical decision making ability was positively correlated with critical thinking disposition(r=.494, p<.001) and nursing work environment(r=.451, p<.001). Critical thinking disposition and nursing work environment explained 33.1% of clinical decision making ability. In order to improve the clinical decision making ability, which is the core competency of nurses, education to increase critical thinking disposition and the creation of a desirable nursing work environment are necessary. In future research, research to identify various variables affecting the clinical decision making ability of nursing hospital nurses, and research for the development and effectiveness of programs to improve clinical decision making ability are suggested.
The study aimed to explore how to improve mathematical thinking through metacognitive learning by stressing metacognitive abilities as a core strategy to increase mathematical creativity and problem-solving abilities. Theoretical exploration was followed by an analysis of correlations between metacognitive abilities and various ways of mathematical thinking. Various metacognitive teaching and learning methods used by many teachers at school were integrated for sharing. Also, the methods of learning application and assessment of metacognitive thinking were explored. The results are as follows: First, metacognitive abilities were positively related to 'reasoning, communication, creative problem solving and commitment' with direct and indirect effects on mathematical thinking. Second, various megacognitive ability-applied teaching and learning methods had positive impacts on definitive areas such as 'anxiety over Mathematics, self-efficacy, learning habit, interest, confidence and trust' as well as cognitive areas such as 'learning performance, reasoning, problem solving, metacognitive ability, communication and expression', which is a result applicable to top, middle and low-performance students at primary and secondary education facilities. Third, 'metacognitive activities, metaproblem-solving process, personal strength and weakness management project, metacognitive notes, observation tables and metacognitive checklists' for metacognitive learning were suggested as alternatives to performance assessment covering problem-solving and thinking processes. Various metacognitive learning methods helped to improve creative and systemic problem solving and increase mathematical thinking. They did not only imitate uniform problem-solving methods suggested by a teacher but also induced direct experiences of mathematical thinking as well as adjustment and control of the thinking process. The study will help teachers recognize the importance of metacognition, devise and apply teaching or learning models for their teaching environments, improving students' metacognitive ability as well as mathematical and creative thinking.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of categorizing activities in lessons on improving critical thinking to meet energy environment issues in every day situation, supposing that there are not only scientific concepts but also critical thinking ability in scientific literacy to meet social controversies related with science intelligently. Categorizing Activity Program was developed and applied to the 10th grades(n=51) in Seoul for about one month. The program was consisted of two domains. They studied science concepts of various aspects of science, technology and society related with energy and environment in the first and second domain repectively, in the while, two critical tasks which include articles from newspapers and magazines were assigned to them for the development and evaluation of critical thinking abilities. The scores of critical thinking ability, the cognitive element, and critical thinking inclination, the affective element, were increased meaningfully(p<.05). In conclusion, categorizing activity as a strategy of concept attainment was effective in improving critical thinking for seeing various aspects with various view points needed in controversial issues related with energy and environment.

The artificial intelligence, robot technology, Internet of things, and life sciences that create added value while dramatically transforming human life have been highlighted in the fourth industrial revolution, the next industrial revolution. In order to adapt to the 4th industry, it is necessary to educate students to develop fusion thinking and computing thinking ability. Therefore, in this study, we developed a digital Yut Playing system based on physical computing, reflecting STEAM and decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm design, which are components of computing thinking. By experiencing the developed system and applying it to education, it raised interest and interest in programming education and improved programming lesson for fusion thinking and computing thinking ability.

The Purpose of this study was to find out whether there was any difference in adolescents' decision making abilities according to the level of critical thinking in practical problem-based instruction of Home Economics. The subjects of this study ware 147 students from K girl's high school in Daegu. They were divided into two groups. The former was the experimental group, which took' practical problem-based instruction' of Home Economics. The later was the control group, which took the typical lecture-based instruction. Factor analysis, Cronbach ${\alpha}$, correlation, and two-way ANCOVA were Performed for data analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, there was no significant difference in the steps of problem identification and information search of the decision making according to teaching methods and the level of the critical thinking ability. Second, the adolescents who took the practical problem-based instruction had shown more improvement in the steps of alternatives consideration and value of the decision making ability than those who took the typical instruction. Third, the adolescents with the high level of critical thinking ability have made much more improvement than those with the low. And it was found that in the case of adolescents with the low level of critical thinking ability, those who took the practical problem-based instruction have made much more improvement than the others who took the typical instruction. On the other hand, in the case of adolescents with the high level of critical thinking ability, those who took the typical instruction improved much more than the others who took the practical problem-based instruction.
The purpose of this study was to improve work performance conducted at an actual clinical site by determining the relationship among critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and work performance. In this study, 335 dental hygienists completed self-administered survey. Final analysis was conducted with a total of 331 responses, excluding 4 questionnaire with unreliable responses and non-responses. The results indicated that as the age, educational background, and work experience of the subjects increased, their critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability scores increased and were statistically significant. For work performance, average total score was high for age, educational background and work experience, but only age and work experience were statistically significant. Critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability and work performance of the subject were relevant, and all of them were significant. Work performance was also influenced indirectly by mediating problem solving ability in critical thinking disposition. In other words, both direct and indirect effects were significant, and the existence of partial moderating effect was verified. Thus, in order to improve work performance of dental hygienists, a multilevel educational process that can simultaneously improve critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability of dental hygienists needs to be developed. Therefore, it is expected that the new dental hygiene company will be able to perform without any sense of disparity in the clinical field; this will solve the gap between dental hygiene education and practical skills.

The purpose of this study was to find out whether scientifically creative students were selected as science-gifted class students and whether their creativity improved after class for the science-gifted students by comparing the science gifted class students to general class students in the first grade of high school. This was achieved by comparing science-gifted class students with general ones on creative personality and creative thinking ability. For this study, science-gifted class students and general class students were surveyed using Khatena-Torrance creative perception inventory and Torrance test of creative thinking with words of form A, before and after class for the science-gifted group. The results showed that science-gifted class students scored significantly higher than general class students on the creative personality. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in their creative thinking ability. Also, in this study, the sub-factors of creative personality and those of creative thinking ability showed very low levels of correlation, which implies that the two variables are highly independent. In addition, science-gifted class students did not show significant improvement in their scores on the creative personality and the creative thinking ability after class. Therefore, further research and development on the selection of science-gifted students and teaching-learning methods which can improve the creativity of these students are needed.
In liberal SW education, nurturing student with creative problem-solving ability based on SW is considered important. The purpose of this study is to design SW education and to investigate the effects on students' computational thinking and creative problem solving abilities. This study designed classes in accordance with convergent project and the CT-CPS model and 38 undergraduate students have participated this study. The questionnaire survey was given to students and analyzed the effectiveness of class. The results of this study were as follows: Fitst, SW education significantly improved computational thinking and creative problem solving ability. Second, computational thinking improve significantly in high and low initial score group and creative problem solving improve significantly in low initial score group. However, creative problem solving ability did not improve significantly in high initial score group. Third, computational thinking improve significantly in all majors and creative problem solving improve significantly in college of natural science. However, creative problem solving ability did not improve significantly in college of humanities and social science. In examining the effects on students' computational thinking and creative problem-solving abilities and verify differences by pre-test and major, this study provides significance in expanding the understanding about the nature liberal SW education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of empathic ability and campus life stress on the stress coping behaviors among 395 dental hygiene students. The analysis was performed using PASW Statistics ver. 18.0, and the following conclusions were obtained. The empathic concern factor was the highest in the subscale of empathic ability (3.60). The interpersonal relationship stress was 1.65 and the task-related stress was 2.72. The stress coping behaviors were the highest among the sub-domains, with 3.69 for wishful thinking. The differences of stress coping behaviors according to general characteristics were as follows. The lower the age and grade, the higher the problem-focused coping; when they were religious there was a high pursuit of seeking social support. When they were satisfied with their economic level, wishful thinking was high. There was a low negative correlation between empathic concern and interpersonal relationship stress in campus life (p<0.01). There was a positive correlation between personal distress and task-related stress (p<0.001). The relationship between empathic ability and stress coping behaviors was most associated with personal distress and wishful thinking. Among the sub-domains of stress coping behaviors, factors that have a common impact on personal distress and seeking social support are viewpoint acceptance. Factors supporting emotional focus and wishful thinking were task-related stress. Dental hygiene students are not able to completely eliminate the stress that they are actually under. However, as the research results show, it is necessary to use stress coping techniques to cope effectively with individual tendencies and situations, and to improve the ability to sympathize with another individual.
As computational thinking has been noted as an important competency worldwide, SW education was introduced in the 2015 revised curriculum, and SW education has been applied to the curriculum from 2018. However, in a poor educational environment, the educationally underprivileged class is in the blind spot of SW education and is not receiving systematic SW education. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of conducting a non-face-to-face SW online education program for 267 underprivileged elementary school students in education at a time when non-face-to-face online education was being conducted through the COVID-19 mass infectious disease. As a result of conducting the computational thinking ability test, which abstraction, problem decomposition, algorithm, automation, and data processing, before and after education, the overall score of computational thinking and the score of all five factors were statistically significantly increased(p<0.001). Among the five factors, there was the highest score improvement in data processing score. These results suggest that the non-face-to-face SW online education program is effective in improving the computational thinking ability of elementary school students from the educational underprivileged class.
