In this paper, in-situ heat cooling with temperature monitoring is reported to solve thermal issues in electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The device consists of a thick graphene cooler on top of the substrate and a platinum-based resistive temperature sensor with an embedded heater above the graphene. The graphene layer is synthesized by using chemical vapor deposition directly on the Ni layer above the Si substrate. The proposed thick graphene heat cooler does not use transfer technology, which involves many process steps and does not provide a high yield. This method also reduces the mechanical damage of the graphene and uses only one photomask. Using this structure, temperature detection and cooling are conducted simultaneously using one device. The temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of a $1{\times}1mm^2$ temperature sensor on 1-$\grave{i}m$-thick graphene is $1.573{\times}10^3ppm/^{\circ}C$. The heat source cools down $7.3^{\circ}C$ from $54.4^{\circ}C$ to $47.1^{\circ}C$.
We report a simple route for synthesizing multi-dimensional structured silicon anode materials from commercially available bulk silicon powders via metal-assisted chemical etching process. In the first step, silver catalyst was deposited onto the surface of bulk silicon via a galvanic displacement reaction. Next, the silver-decorated silicon particles were chemically etched in a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen peroxide to make multi-dimensional silicon consisting of one-dimensional silicon nanowires and micro-scale silicon cores. As-synthesized silicon particles were coated with a carbon via thermal decomposition of acetylene gas. The carbon-coated multi-dimensional silicon anodes exhibited excellent electrochemical properties, including a high specific capacity (1800 mAh/g), a stable cycling retention (cycling retention of 89% after 20 cycles), and a high rate capability (71% at 3 C rate, compared to 0.1 C rate). This process is a simple and mass-productive (yield of 40-50%), thus opens up an effective route to make a high-performance silicon anode materials for lithiumion batteries.

$LiCoO_2$ powder was synthesized by Sol-Gel method using inorganic materials. The starting materials, $CH_3COOLi^*2H_2O\;and\;Co(CH_3COO)_2{^*}4H_2O$, were mixed in the atomic ratio Li/Co of 1 and dissolved in i-propanol with acetic acid. The solution was dried for gelation, and finally obtained the pre-powder. The pre-powder were studied by thermal analysis. Based on the TGA result, heat treatment was performed at various temperature(500 to $800^{\circ}C$) for 2h in air atmosphere. The crystal structure, morphology, electrochemical property were carried out using XRD, SEM, cyclic voltammetry(CV).

All solid state thin film micro-batteries consisting of lithium metal anode, an amorphous LiPON electrolyte and cathode of vanadium oxide have been fabricated and characterized, which were fabricated with cell structure of Li/LiPON/V$_2$O$\sub$5/Pt. The vanadium oxide thin films were formed by d.c. reactive sputtering on Pt current collector. After deposition of vanadium oxide films, in-situ growths of lithium phosphorus oxynitride film were conducted by r.f. sputtering of Li$_3$PO$_4$ target in mixture gas of N$_2$ and O$_2$. The pure metal lithium film was deposited by thermal evaporation on thin film LiPON electrolyte. The cell capacity was about 45${\mu}$Ah/$\textrm{cm}^2$$\mu\textrm{m}$ after 200 cycle. No appreciable degradation of the cell capacity could be observed after 50 cycles .

Ternary tellurite glassy systems ($Li_2O-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$) have been synthesised using Vanadium oxide as a network former and Lithium oxide as network modifier. The addition of a metal? oxide makes them electric or mixed electric-ionic conductors, which are of potential interest as cathode' materials for solid-state batteries. This glass-ceramics crystallized from the $Li_2O-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$ system are particularly interesting, because they exhibit high conductivity (up to $5.95\times10^{-4}$ S/cm) at room temperature. the glass samples were prepared by quenching the melt on the copper plate and the glass-ceramics were heat-treated at crystallizing temperature determined from differential thermal analysis (DTA). The electric D.C conductivity result have been analyzed in terms of a small polaron-hopping model.

Ternary tellurite glassy systems $(CuO-V_2O_5-TeO_2)$ have been synthesised using tellurium oxide as a network former and copper oxide as network modifier. The addition of a transition-matal oxide makes them electric or mixed electric-ionic conductors, which are of potential interest as cathode materials for solid-state batteries. This glass-ceramics crystallized from the $CuO-V_2O_5-TeO_2$ system are particularly interesting, because they exhibit high conductivity ( up to $6.03{\times}10^{-3}S/cm$) at room temperature. the glass samples were prepared by quenching the melt on the copper plate and the glass-ceramics were heat-treated at crystallizing temperature determined from differential thermal analysis (DTA). The electric D.C conductivity result have been analyzed in terms of a small polaron-hopping model.
Nano-sized $SnO_2$ powders were synthesized via a solvent thermal reaction using $SnClO_4$, NaOH, and ethylene glycol at $150^{\circ}C$. TGA, SEM, FT-IR, XRD, and Potentiostat/Galvanostat were employed to investigate the chemical and electrochemical characteristics of the synthesized $SnO_2$. The structure of $SnO_2$ was amorphous, and when heat treated at $500^{\circ}C$, it was transformed into a crystalline structure. The morphology obtained by SEM micrographs of the as-synthesized $SnO_2$ showed powder features that had diameters ranging 100 to 200 nm. The electrochemical performance of the crystalline $SnO_2$ as a Li-air battery cathode was better than that of the amorphous $SnO_2$. The specific capacity of the crystalline $SnO_2$ was at least 350 mAh/g at 10 mA/g discharge rate. However, there was some capacity loss of all the cells during the consecutive cycles. Interest in eco-friendly materials with high efficiencies is increasing significantly as science and technology undergo a paradigm shift toward environment-friendly and sustainable development. MXenes, a class of two-dimensional inorganic compounds, are generally defined as transition metal carbides or nitrides composed of few-atoms-thick layers with functional groups. Recently MXenes, because of their desirable electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties that emerge from conductive layered structures with tunable surface terminations, have garnered significant attention as promising candidates for energy storage applications (e.g., supercapacitors and electrode materials for Li-ion batteries), water purification, and gas sensors. In this review, we introduce MXenes and describe their properties and research trends by classifying them into two main categories: transition metal carbides and nitrides, including Ti-based MXenes, Mo-based MXenes, and Nb-based MXenes.
In this study, high nickel layered LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries were modified by yttrium doping and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) coating. The effects of yttrium doping and PEDOT:PSS coating on the structural and electrochemical properties of the LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode material were investigated and compared. The substitution of nickel with an electrochemically inert yttrium was confirmed to be successful in stabilizing the layered structure framework. Moreover, coating the surfaces of the LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 particles with a conductive polymer, PEDOT:PSS, improved the capacity retention, thermal stability, and impedance of the cathode material by increasing its ionic and electric conductivities.
