경계요소법을 이용한 수직열유동을 받는 접합경계면 커스프균열의 열응력세기계수 결정 (Boundary Element Analysis of Thermal Stress Intensity Factor for Interface Crack under Vertical Uniform Heat Flow)

  • The thermal stress intensity factors for interface cracks of Griffith and symmetric lip cusp types under vertical uniform heat flow in a finite body are calculated by boundary element method. The boundary conditions on the crack surfaces are insulated or fixed to constant temperature. The relationship between the stress intensity factors and the displacements on the nodal point of a crack tip element is derived. The numerical values of the thermal stress intensity factors for interface Griffith crack in an infinite body and for symmetric lip cusp crack in a finite and homogeneous body are compared with the previous solutions. The thermal stress intensity factors for symmetric lip cusp interface crack in a finite body are calculated with respect to various effective crack lengths, configuration parameters, material property ratios and the thermal boundary conditions on the crack surfaces. Under the same outer boundary conditions, there are no appreciable differences in the distribution of thermal stress intensity factors with respect to each material properties. But the effect of crack surface thermal boundary conditions on the thermal stress intensity factors is considerable.

  • 본 연구에서는 선적분화 된 체적력항을 갖는 경계요소법을 이용하여, Griffi- th균열에 대한 열응력세기계수를 구하여 Sumi의 결과와 비교 검토하고, 유무한체내의 대칭 입술형및 대칭 익형 커스프균열들(symmetric lip and airfoil cusp cracks)의 열 응력세기계수를 균열묘면이 단열된 경우와 일정 온도로 유지된 경우에 대해 계산하고 자 한다.

  • This describes thermal crack creation process in automotive disks. Thermal cracks have been serious defects which induced disastrous accidents during traveling. The thermal cracks must be regularly eye-inspected. The cracks have been experimentally analysed; but they were not reported by analytic means yet. This paper proposed thermal crack creation process by a computer simulation which enlightened how to investigate thermal crack by cheap means. We explained the disk thermal crack creation and calculated stress intensity factor of an assumed surface crack in an automotive disk.

  • Tong-young LNG tank is a LNG storage tank of 140,000 kl, and it is composed of Bottom Slab(Annular, Center), Outer Wall, Ring Beam and Roof. Generally, when concrete temperature arise, the complex thermal stress of inner and outer part can cause serious thermal crack and damage at structure. So in this paper, for the control of this thermal crack, we did the concrete mix design with the base of fly-ash 30% substitute at binder, and through the computer modelling at Bottom Slab(Annular, Center), Outer Wall, Ring Beam and Roof, we studied the probability of thermal crack by thermal crack index.

  • 본 연구에서는 단열 및 온도가 영으로 고정된 경계조건을 갖는 대칭 입술형과 대칭 익형 강체함유 물상의 접합경계면 균열에 대한 Hilbert 문제로부터 복소 포텐셜 함수와 커스프 균열선단 그리고 접합경계면 균열선단에서 TSIF를 구하고자 한다.

  • Thermal fatigue is one of the life-limiting damage mechanisms in the nuclear power plant conditions. The turbulent mixing of fluids of different temperatures induces rapid temperature changes to the pipe wall. The successive thermal transients cause varying cyclic thermal stresses. These cyclic thermal stresses cause fatigue crack nucleation and growth similar to the cyclic mechanical stresses. The aim of this study was to fulfil the need by developing an real crack manufacturing method, which would produce realistic cracks. The test material was austenitic STS 304, which is used as pipelines in the reactor coolant system of a nuclear power plants. In order to fabricate thermal fatigue crack similar to realistic crack, successive thermal transients were applied to the specimen. Thermal transient cycles were combined with heating (60sec) and cooling cycle (30sec). And, In order to identify ultrasonic characteristic, it was performed the ultrasonic reflection measuring method for the fabricated specimen. From the results of ultrasonic reflection measuring testing, it was conformed that A-scan results(average 83% of real crack depth) for the TFC reference specimen was more enhanced NDT reliability than results(average 38% of real crack depth) for the EDM notch reference specimen.

  • 본 연구에서는 트랙션이 없는 커스프 균열에 적용한 방법을 확장하여 무한대 에서 균일열유동을 받는 무한체내에 하이포사이클로이드형(hypocycloid type), 대칭이 기형(symmetric airfoil type), 대칭입술형(symmetric lip type) 강체 함유물이 존재 하고 그 표면은 단열되거나 상대온도가 영으로 주어지는 경우에 대해서 열응력세기계 수(thermal stress intensity factor이하에서 TSIF로 표기함)를 유도하고자 한다.

  • Recently, a structure has been larger and higher under the improvement of construction technique. So, a concrete constructions that a mat foundation thickness of structure is over 80cm have been many. Also, because of the reason high strength concrete, the matter of thermal crack have become an important task to be solved absolutely. In a cause a thermal crack occurrence, there used, mixture of concrete, construction and so forth. In this study, we executed temperature and stress analysis of mat foundation to know the effect the construction condition a thermal crack of mat foundation. And we evaluated quantitatively about the occurrence possibility of thermal crack using the hydration heat analysis program. By using of this analysis technique, will can control skilfully the quality of a mat foundation in advance.

열충격에 의한 세라믹코팅재의 파괴거동 (Fracture Behavior of Ceramic Coatings Subjected to Thermal Shock)

  • An experimental study was conducted to develop and understanding of fracture behavior of ceramic thermal barrier coating when subjected to a thermal shock loading. The thermal loading was applied using a 1.5kW $CO_2$ laser. In the experiments, beam-shaped specimens were subjected to a high heat flux for 4sec and cooling of 7sec in air. The interface crack length was increased as the crack density, the surface pre-crack legth and the coating thickness were increased. The center surface crack length was increased as the maximum surface temperature got higher and the surface pre-crack length for shorter.
