열처리를 통한 미세조류로부터 바이오수소 생산 향상 (Enhanced of Bio-Hydrogen Production from Microalgae by Thermal Pre-Treatment)

  • This study was conducted to increase the amount of bio-hydrogen production from microalgae(Chlorella vulgaris) in batch reactors by thermal pre-treatment. The optimization of thermal pre-treatment was conducted using statistic experimental design of response surface methodology. Two experimental parameters of temperature and reaction time were considered. The optimization condition was founded at the coded variables of <0.52, -0.07> corresponding to the experimental of heating temperature of $95.6^{\circ}C$ and reaction time of 57.9 min, respectively. Under the optimal condition, the maximum hydrogen production was predicted to 25.3mL $H_2/g$ dry cell weight (dcw), which was 9.1 times higher value of control(2.8mL $H_2/g$ dcw).

  • In this study, an experimental method measuring the scroll under the temperature distribution similar to the operating condition is proposed and the results are presented. Direct measurement of the actual thermal stress is very difficult because of the rapid and complex motion of the orbiting scroll. Therefore, the experimental condition is provided on the stationary scroll heated in the electric furnace and, then, the mechanical stress and the effects of refrigerant are excluded from the resulting measurement. The experimental results are compared with these of FEM, both showing good agreement.

  • From the previous researches about flow characteristic of micro-nozzle, we found that viscosity and back pressure induced heavy losses in micro nozzle. To overcome thess losses, we began to study new conceptual micro propulsion system that is thermal transpiration based micro propulsion system. It has no moving parts and can pump the gaseous propellant by temperature gradient only (cold to hot). Most of previous research on thermal transpiration is in its early stage and mainly studied for application to small vacuum facility or gas chromatography in ambient condition using nanoporous material like aerogel. In this study, we focus on basic research of propulsion system based on thermal transpiration using polyimide material in vacuum conditions.

  • Exhaust manifold is generally subjected to thermal cycle loadings ; at hot condition, large compressive plastic deformations are generated, and at cold condition, tensile stresses are remained in highly deformed critical zones. These phenomena originate from that thermal expansions of the runners are restricted by inlet flange connected to the cylinder head, because the former is less stiff than the latter and, the temperature of the inlet flange is lower than that of the runners. Therefore, due to the repetitions of thermal deformation, leakage problems could be occur between inlet flange and cylinder head. In this study, we obtained pressure distributions along gasket bead lines from the finite element analysis and compared to the test results. It shows a good agreement between numerical and experimental results.

  • Residual stress caused in the weldments with high restraint force are often during welding observed in the weldments of large size nozzles or radial tanks. The reason is that quantitative analysis about thermal stresses during welding is lack for this weldments. To verify Finite Elements Method(FEM) theory, the temperature was measured with thermocouple in a real time in this paper. Also analysis of the thermal stress for welding condition is performed by ABAQUS program package on various welding condition in 304 stainless steel butt welding.

대두유의 자동산화 및 가열산화에 미치는 정향추출물의 항산화 효과 (Effects of Clove Extracts on the Autoxidation and Thermal Oxidation of Soybean Oil)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant activities of clove extracts in water, methanol and ether. The clove extracts, BHA and ${\alpha}$-tocopherol were added to each oil at a level of 200 ppm. The activities of the substrate oils and controls were tested under autoxidation and thermal oxidation conditions. The degree of the effects of the antioxidant activities under autoxidation condition were in the following order; ether extract 〉 methanol extract 〉BHA 〉 ${\alpha}$-tocopherol 〉 water extract = control group. The induction periods of the control, water, methanol and ether extracts, and BHA and ${\alpha}$-tocopherol were 9.5, 9.6, 10.7 11.8, 10.4 and 9.7 days, respectively. Under thermal oxidation condition, the methanol extract showed stronger antioxidant activity than those of the water and ether extracts. The antioxidant activity of the methanol extract was attributed to ${\alpha}$-tocopherol and BHA.

  • Symptoms of foot-and-mouth disease include fever and drooling a lot around the hoof, blisters in the mouth, poor appetite, blisters around the hoof, and blisters around the hoof. Research is underway on smart barns that remotely manage these symptoms through cameras. Visible light cameras can measure the condition of livestock such as blisters, but cannot measure body temperature. On the other hand, infrared thermal imaging cameras can measure body temperature, but it is difficult to measure the condition of livestock.   • Bal1 screw systems has been used for positioning elements of machine tools. In order to maintain high rigidity and accuracy, preload is applied between nut and screw. However, large amount of preload increases frictional heat. Temperature rises remarkably at high speed notion, Thermal expansion degrades positioning accuracy, In this paper, finite differance method is applied to compute temperature distributions and thermal expansions of ball screw systems according to preload condition and rotational steed. Some simulation results show that the developed methodology is good to study thermal expansion of ball screw systems.

  • 지하 하중 조건에서 암석물성이 변한다는 것은 잘 알려져 있다. 따라서 침수상태에 놓인 폐광산이나 폐공동에서의 하중에 따른 암석 물성변화와 일반적인 건조상태의 하중에 따른 물성 변화와의 관계에 대하여는 연구가 필요하다. 침수-하중 조건에서의 암석 물성 변화를 파악하기 위해 다양한 실험실 실험이 실시되었다. 암석에 가해지는 하중은 단축압축강도의 20~80%로 조절하였다. 침수 및 건조 조건에서 동일한 하중을 가할 경우 발생하는 암석의 열적, 역학적, 물리적 물성 변화를 비교함으로써 건조조건에 비해 침수조건에서의 물성변화가 더 크게 일어남을 알 수 있었다.
