Compressed Sensing Based Low Power Data Transmission Systems in Mobile Sensor Networks (모바일 센서 네트워크에서 압축 센싱을 이용한 저전력 데이터 전송 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a system in a large-scale environment, such as desert and ocean, that can reduce the overall transmission power consumption in mobile sensor network. It is known that the transmission power consumption in wireless sensor network is proportional to the square of transmission distance. Therefore, if the locations of mobile sensors are far from the sink node, the power consumption required for data transmission increases, leading to shortened operating time of the sensors. Hence, in this paper, we propose a system that can reduce the power consumption by allowing to transmit data only if the transmission range of the sensors is within a predetermined distance. Moreover, the energy efficiency of the overall sensor network can even be improved by reducing the number of data transmissions at the sink node to gateway based on compressed sensing. The proposed system is actually implemented using Arduino and Raspberry Pi and it is confirmed that source data can be approximately decoded even when the gateway received encoded data fewer than the required number of data from the sink node. The performance of the proposed system is analyzed in theory.

  • Gear is general mechanical elements that used for power transmission between two shafts that interval is comparatively short. and it delivers big power as accurate ratio of speed. The profile of Spur gear which is the most basic factor is divided into Trochoidal fillet curve and Involute curve. Involute curve is used a lot of a shaped curve of machine parts such as a gear, a scroll compressor and a collar of centrifugal pump. However, it is poor to study the modeling of Trochoidal fillet curve and the three dimensions model shaped mathematical curve. This paper describes a mathematical model of profile shifted involute gear. and this model is based on Camus's theory. We draw three dimensions gear have accurate mathematical function using ADS, VisualLISP. and To check accuracy and perfection, we make a program of checking Interference. and use for this study.

  • This study is on a mathematical model of profile shifted involute gear, and this model is based on Camus's theory. Gear is general mechanical elements that used for power transmission between two shafts that interval is comparatively short. and it delivers bit power as accurate ratio of speed. The profile of Spur gear which is the most basic factor is divided into Trochoidal fillet curve and Involute curve.   • Rigorous longitudinal modal transmission-line theory (L-MTLT) is applied to analyze maximum power transfer in asymmetric grating-assisted directional couplers(A-GADC). By defining a coupling efficiency amenable to rigorous analytical solutions and interference between symmetric and asymmetric supermodes, the power exchange of TE modes as a function of propagation distance is numerically evaluated. The numerical result reveals that maximum power transfer occurs at a grating period ${\Lambda}_{eq}$, in which the insertion loss of supermodes is equal to each other. That is, it is generally different from conventional phase-matching condition of GADC. Furthermore, as the asymmetric profile of grating change to symmetrical profile, the coupling length decreases and the coupling efficiency for power transmission increases.

Application of Lyapunov Theory and Fuzzy Logic to Control Shunt FACTS Devices for Enhancing Transient Stability in Multimachine System

  • This paper proposes the control strategy of the shunt Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices to improve transient stability in multimachine power system. The multimachine power system has high nonlinear response after severe disturbance. The concept of Lyapunov energy function is applied to derive nonlinear control strategy and it was found that the time derivative of line voltage is not only can apply to control the shunt FACTS devices in multimachine system but also is locally measurable signal. The fuzzy logic control is also applied to overcome the uncertainty of various disturbances in multimachine power system. This paper presents the method of investigating the effect of the shunt FACTS devices on transient stability improvement. The proposed control strategy and the method of simulation are tested on the new England power system. It was found that the shunt FACTS devices based on the proposed nonlinear control strategy can improve transient stability of multimachine power system.

Optimum Design for Inlet and Outlet Locations of Rectangular Expansion Chamber for Improving Acoustic Performance (사각형 단순 확장소음기의 성능향상을 위한 입$\cdot$출구 위치의 최적설계)

  • The performance of muffler can be improved for a frequency range of interest by moving inlet and outlet locations. And optimal location of inlet and outlet can be determined to improve the acoustic performance. The optimum design using FEM, however, may take a very long time and be very hard to take inlet and outlet locations as design variables. In this paper, the acoustic performance of reactive type single expansion chamber muffler is predicted using higher order mode theory. The sensitivity analysis of transmission loss with respect to the location of inlet and outlet is suggested. And the acoustic power transmission coefficient for a frequency of interest is used as cost function. Optimum location of inlet and outlet is determined to minimize cost function by using SUMT algorithm.

  • In this paper, we measured the efficiency of the receiver for 5.8GHz Microwave Smartphone Charging. We have designed and fabricated 1W and 2W power amplifier, respectively. A 1W power amplifier used a TC3531 power device of TRANSCOM Inc. In addition, a 2W power amplifier using the two TC3531 devices was constructed with divider and combiner. We used the Wilkinson divider theory for divider and combiner. The voltage was measured using the 1W and 2W power amplifier and integrated receivers to the distance of 50cm.

  • The overhead transmission wires operating both at warm temperature and tighten state for a long period of time in a power transmission plant are degraded by air pollution, wind, creep and slip between steel wire and aluminium conductor. The objective of this study is to investigate to investigate the characteristics of fatigue properties with tension and bending loading of a high carbon steel wire. The fatigue behaviors have been carried out by tension-tension, 4 points bending and 3 points bending loading. In the present study, a conventional fatigue strengths between 4 points bending and tension-tension fatigue were determined by Gerber, Sorderberg and Goodmans theory and we investigated S-N diagram for bending and tensile loading.

  • Faster, safer and cheaper mailing of the postal matter is essential for surviving in the competitive market of home-delivery service. In the past, the domestic delivery business has been nu by only a few number of companies. But more and more number of companies including medium size ones are participating in the business, and the competition is getting severe. This paper proposes a method to select the optimal location of mail distribution centers that minimally connect the local mail centers of some major cities in Korea using the Steiner Tree theory, which is about connecting a finite number of points with a minimal length of paths and has been used in the distribution system optimization and optimal routing of the transmission lines of the electric power system. By using Steiner Tree theory in finding the best location of the postal delivery hub, we may expect the reduction of transportation cost and the increase of profit, resulting in acquiring the superior position in the competitive delivery business. It is expected that we may use the Steiner Tree theory in finding the best location of the electric power substation for the nott higher EHV(extreme high voltage) transmission network.
