Effects of total ginseng saponin, 20-S-protopanaxadiol saponin, 20-S-protopanaxatriol saponin and playcodon saponin on the osmotic behavior of liposomes were investigated by optical measurement. These saponins showed different activities on liposomal membrane, and cholesterol in liposomes was an important factor to this variation of saponin activities.

From the seeds of Zizyphus vulgaris var. spinosus, aporphine alkaloids : nuciferine, N-methylasimilobine, nornuciferine, norisocorydine, caaverine and tetrahydro benzylisoquinoline alkaloid : (+) coclaurine were isolated and identified. Zyzyphusine, a new quaternary aporphinium alkaloid form butanol soluble fraction was isolated and characterized by spectral data.

The extracts of sixty Korean plants were evaluated for their biological activities such as antitumor activities against Sarcoma 180, Leukemia SN-36 and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma, antimicrobial activities and behavioral observation in mice. The results are tabulate.

A series of benzimidazole derivatives carrying different heterocycles such as 1,2,3-thiadiazole, 1,3,4-thiadiazole, thiazolidine, 2,3-dihydro-thiazole, 1,3,4-oxadiazole, semicarbazone and substituted thiosemi-carbazones were synthesized. Also a series of 1-methylbenzimidazole carrying hydroxy ethyl-amide, substituted sulfonyl hydrazide and benzoyl hydrazide from aminobenzoyl group at position 2 of 1-methylbenzimidazole were synthesized. The antimicrobial evaluation of some of the new compounds was carried out.

Bromolactonization of 2-substituted-1-cyclohexenyl-1-acetic acids with 1, 3-dibromo-5, 5-dime-thylhydantoin 9DBH) and potsssium tertiary butoxide (t-BuOK0 in anhydrous DMF was found to proceed in a highly regioselective manner. The reaction predominantly resulted in the formation of ${\betha}-lactones$ (greater than 96%).

By the reaction of 15 with 3-halohydantoins (4-14) in N, N-dimethylformamide, which were prepared from corresponding hydantoins, 3-bromo-5, 5-dimethylhydantoin was found to be the most convenient reagent for halolactonization reaction.

A series of 2-methylbenzimidazole incorporated to different heterocycles through ethyl or carbamoylethyl groups at position 1 of benzimidazole were synthesized. Also 3-(2-methylbenzimidazol-1-yl)propanoic acid hydrazide incorporated with semicarbazides and thiosemicarbazides were prepared. Moreover, the triazole 5e underwent Michael addition and alkylation reaction. Some of the newly synthesized compounds showed considerable antimicrobial activity against gram positive, negative bacteria and yeast.

Cyanoaccetic acid hydrazide reacted with some 2-pyrazolin-5-one, isoxazol-5-one and 2-thiazolin-4-one and their ylidene derivatives to yield several new annelated pyran heterocycles. Structures wre established on the basis of elementary analyses and spectral data studies in addition to synthesis via other routes.

According to the Public Records Act, the actual conditions of Government Agencies will be assessed by the concept of 'Assessment' not by 'Instruction and Checking'. In this Study, before adopting a new National Assessment of complying with Records Management, on the basis of the analysis of current 'Instruction and Checking' and other Countries' system which will be able to the model of our new system, we suggest that a Assessment system which will play a role to fulfill and spread the Public Records Act and Records management Standard in this nation's public sector.
