The study adopted multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis. Based on prior studies and comparative importance research, three indicators were extracted from the welfare circumstance index for the disabled. They are the ratio of the registered disabled population, the ratio of the disabled household in poor households, the ratio of dependence on public finance. Also, nine dimensions and twenty seven indicators were extracted from the welfare level index. The dimensions are as follows : Education, income & economic activities support, welfare services infra-structure, health & welfare service support, movement convenience & safety, rights protection, culture, leisure & information accessibility, welfare administration & budget for the disabled. The findings from the welfare circumstance index show that local governments are divided into three groups and all indicators are statistically significant. On the other hand, the findings from the welfare level index, show that local governments are divided into four groups and five indicators are statistically significant. Based on these findings, the study proposes improvement in the disabled welfare level, and balanced development of local governments.

  • This study aimed to determine foodservice and hygiene management statuses at welfare facilities catering to disabled persons by facility type to provide basic data for foodservice management guidelines. An online survey was distributed to workers at 1,984 welfare facilities for disabled persons in Korea, and 531 facilities responded, which represented a response rate of 26.8%. The survey requested general information about the facilities, facility users, meals, hygiene, and management. Statistical analyses were performed, and frequency analysis and the chi-square test were used to investigate responses by facility type. The survey results revealed that daycare centers were most common and accounted for 27.4% of responses. Residential facilities for the severely disabled and sheltered workshops accounted for 16.9% and 16.4%, respectively, and residential facilities by disability type accounted for 13.0%. The presence of dietitians at welfare facilities varied by facility type. Welfare centers for the disabled (94.7%) had the highest percentage of dietitians, followed by residential facilities for the severely disabled (87.8%). On the other hand, sheltered workshops and daycare centers for disabled persons had the lowest percentages of dietitians (10.3% and 4.1%, respectively). This study highlights the variations that exist in foodservice management across different welfare facilities for disabled persons and emphasizes the challenges faced by those responsible for managing foodservices and maintaining hygiene, particularly in large facilities with no dietitians. Therefore, we recommend tailored meal management guidelines be developed for each type of welfare facility for disabled persons.

These social services are the subject of great policy interest in that they can create two effects at the same time: increase in labor demand for service providers and increase the possibility of long-term accumulation of human capital for service recipients. Therefore, this study aims to confirm the hypothesis according to whether the use of social services affects family relationships and the effects of social service users' psychological adaptation on marital and parent-child relationships even when other related variables are controlled. The final result of this thesis is a regression analysis to find out the effect of psychological adaptation on the family relationship, spouse relationship, and relationship with children of subjects who have experience using social services. -.661, p=0.001), the higher the psychological adaptation, the higher the spouse satisfaction (β=.465, p=0.001) and relationship satisfaction with children (β=.360, p=0.001). • This study was performed to analyze empowerment process of the disabled. Participants were 11 disabled college students and they were individually face-to-face in-depth interviewed until data were saturated. This study used the grounded theory approach based on Strauss and Corbin(1998). With the qualitative constant comparative analysis, 105 concepts, 22 subcategories, and 12 categories were generated. In the axial coding, a paradigm model was proposed as follows: The central phenomenon of the empowerment process of the disabled adolescents was 'Rising from the Limits'. The causal conditions were 'Just living' and 'realizing disabilities'. The contextual conditions were 'Being excluded', 'But wishing', and 'Breaking down'. The intervening conditions were 'Without giving up' and 'Taking support'. The action/interaction strategies were 'Grasping own lifestyle' and 'Being proactive'. The consequences were 'Acquiring the self-control', 'Getting generosity', and 'Participating in society'. In the selective coding, the core category was 'to live together stately with grasping own lifestyle pro-actively as the disabled'. Based on the core category, three types and 4 stages of the empowerment process of the disabled adolescents were found. The types were 'Social change oriented type', 'Self-development oriented type', and 'Passive effort oriented type' and the stages took 'Isolation stage', 'Rising stage', 'Mastering stage' and 'Stately being together stage'. In particular, this process had the circulation structure of which these 4 stages are not terminated, and developed and repeated. In conclusion, these results convey to us the understanding and knowledge about empowerment process of the disabled as their healthy -whole and unique- development process. And some implications and suggestions for the social work services and theories about the disabled focusing on the pre-adulthood period.
