We have examined the effect of rice straw mat (RSM) on the reduction of non-point source (NPS) pollution loads at soybean cultivations. The slope of the experimental plot was about 3 %. Monitoring was carried out for four years at conventional tillage (CT) in 2008~2009 years and RSM covered tillage in 2010~2011 years. Thirty-two rainfall events were monitored and analyzed during the study period. During the 2 years of 2008 and 2009, 20 rainfall runoff events were monitored. But in 2010 years, only 2 rainfall runoff events could be monitored. And in 2011 years, 10 rainfall runoff events was monitored. It was because the RSM cover enhanced infiltration and reduce runoff in 2010 and 2011. Average NPS pollution load (organic matters) of the RSM covered field was reduced by 72.1~94.2 % compared to that of CT field. NPS pollution load of TN and TP reduced by 67.5 % and 55.7 %, respectively. Especially, SS pollution load was reduced by 97.3 %. Based on the results, rice straw mat cover was considered as a promising best management practices (BMP) to reduce NPS pollution load. However, it was recommended that the results are limited to the field conditions and the same experiments must be performed on different soil textures, slopes, and crops if it is applied to the development of policies.
Modal and chemical compositions of clinopyroxnes in spinel peridotites from the Baegryeong Island and the Boeun, enclosed in Miocene alkali basalt, are important for understanding the pre-eruptive temperature condition and chemical processes such as mantle depletion and enrichment. All spinel peridotites show transitional texture between protogranular and porphyroclastic textures. Temperature ranges of spinel peridotites from the Baegryeong Island and the Boeun at 15 kb are 773∼1188℃ and 705∼1106℃, respectively. The spinel peridotites from the Baegryeong Island and the Boeun have undergone the 1∼10% and 1∼4% fractional melting, which were determined by using primitive mantle-normalized Y and Yb of clinopyroxenes. LREE enrichment patterns of clinopyroxene indicate that these rocks from both areas have undergone cryptic mantle metasomatism without new minerals.
Modeling and rendering of cloth texture have been regarded as one of the most important factors to enhance reality of the contents in the digital contents industry. So far, however, two major approaches to realistically describe the cloth texture were developed: building analytical reflectance model for target cloth and sometimes thread itself and obtaining overall reflectance model using optical equipments. However, yielding a plausible analytic reflection model satisfying many subtle characteristics of a cloth is not an easy task; moreover, fine-detailed modeling of the cloth pattern across the target clothes should also be accompanied by huge amount of computation. The method to obtain overall reflectance model needs expensive measurement equipments and data size becomes huge. Since it applies in the end the reflectance model obtained at one point of a cloth to across whole the visible area of the target clothes, it cannot properly reproduce the pattern of the clothes nor the texture. To address the aforementioned problems, this paper proposes a simple low cost camera rig and a novel method for realistic modeling and rendering of the cloth texture by analyzing photos taken by the proposed camera rig, which can reproduce even the texture pattern applied to the whole clothes, overcoming the one-point reflectance model.

The phase diagram for the surfactant mixture system of N-dodecanocyl-N-methyl amido polyolcarboxyl alkyl ether(DGC)/N-dodecanocyl-N-alkyl glucamine(DG)/water was studied usingpolarized microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and rheological measurements respectively. Using polarized microscopy, the textures of liquid crystal phases obtained at various surfactantconcentrations were investigated as a function of surfactant concentration and temperature, and phasetransitions between anisotropic liquid crystal phases and isotropic liquid phase were examined usingDSC measurements. Viscoelastic properties of surfactant solutions determined between hexagonal andlamellar liquid crystal phase by rheological measurements were approximately consistent with the resultsobtained by polarized microscopy and DSC. In the study for the phase of DGC/DG(5:5 mol ratio)/water system. It could be found that the hexagonal liquid crystal phase appeared at 25${\sim}$60wt% ofsurfactant, the cubic liquid crystal phase at 50${\sim}$65wt% and the lamellar crystal phase at above 70wt%.

In order to prepare high-quality activated carbons (ACs), coal tar pitch (CTP), and mixtures of CTP and petroleum pitch (PP) were activated with KOH. The ACs prepared by activation of CTP in the range of $700{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ for 1~5 h had very porous textures with large specific surface areas of $2470{\sim}3081m^2/g$. The optimal activation conditions of CTP were determined as CTP/KOH ratio of 1:4, activation temperature of $900^{\circ}C$, and activation time of 3 h. The obtained AC showed the highest micro-pore volume, and pretty high specific surface area and meso-pore volume. The micro-pore volumes and specific areas of activated mixtures of CTP and PP were similar to each other but the meso-pore volume could be increased. In order to change the degree of crystallinity of precursors before KOH activation process, the CTPs were carbonized in the range of $500{\sim}900^{\circ}C$. As the carbonization temperature increased, the specific surface area and pore volume of the activated ACs with the same activation conditions for CTP decreased dramatically. It was demonstrated that the increased pore size distribution of AC electrodes in the range of 1 to 2 nm plays an important role in the performance of electric double-layer capacitor.
It is complicate and time-consuming process to classify a multi-band satellite imagery according to the application. In addition, classification rate sensitively depends on the selection of training data set and features in a supervised classification process. This paper introduced a classification network adopting a fuzzy-based $\gamma$-model in order to select a training data set and to extract feature which highly contribute to an actual classification. The features used in the classification were gray-level histogram, textures, and NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) of target imagery. Moreover, in order to minimize the errors in the classification network, the Gradient Descent method was used in the training process for the $\gamma$-parameters at each code used. The trained parameters made it possible to know the connectivity of each node and to delete the void features from all the possible input features.
In this paper, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) clutter images are simulated based on the extensive analyses for radar backscatter characteristics of various earth surfaces, and the simulated images are compared with measured SAR images. At first, the surface parameters including soil moisture content and surface roughness parameters and other parameters for vegetation canopies are measured for various surfaces. The backscattering coefficients for the surfaces are computed using theoretical and empirical models for surface scattering and the radiative transfer for vegetation-canopy scattering. Then, the digital elevation map (DEM) and land cover map (LCM) are used for the SAR image generation. The SAR impulse response (correlation function) is also employed to simulated reliable SAR images. Finally, the appropriate speckle and texture parameters for various earth surfaces are used for generating the SAR clutter images.
The Hognjesa granitic rocks can be subdivided into biotite granitic gneiss and microcline- perthite granitic gneiss according to their mineralogy and textures, which change gradationally each other. They consist mainly of biotite, muscovite, chlorite, microcline, plagioclase, perthite and quartz accompanied with sillimanite, garnet, and tourmaline in places. The replacement and/or alteration phenomena and relationships of coexisting minerals suggest that the granitic gneisses might be formed by regional metamorphism of upper amphibolite facies and granitization by partial melting accompanied to the regional metamorphism, and again at later effected by regional metamorphism of epidote-amphibolite or greenschist facies. The biotite, muscovite and chlorite formed during these metamorphism, show nearly similar chemical compositions, respectively, regardless to the rock phases and stages of formation. They show relatively stable chemical equilibrium between coexisting pairs. The granitization which formed granitic gneisses may be seemed to occur regionally by partial melting accompanied to the first regional metamorphism.
This study was purpose to method that applies for improving the image quality in CT and X-ray scan, especially in the lung region. Also, we researched the parameters of the image before and after applying for Histogram Equalization (HE) such as mean, median values in the histogram. These techniques are mainly used for all type of medical images such as for Chest X-ray, Low-Dose Computed Tomography (CT). These are also used to intensify tiny anatomies like vessels, lung nodules, airways and pulmonary fissures. The proposed techniques consist of two main steps using the MATLAB software (R2021a). First, the technique should apply for the process of normalization for improving the basic image more correctly. In the next, the technique actively rearranges the intensity of the image contrast. Second, the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) method was used for enhancing small details, textures and local contrast of the image. As a result, this paper shows the modern and improved techniques of HE and some advantages of the technique on the traditional HE. Therefore, this paper concludes that various techniques related to the HE can be helpful for many processes, especially image pre-processing for Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL).

When teaching traditional pattern-themed textile design, it has been found that many students struggle during the investigation stage of traditional patterns and complete the development of patterns in relatively simple layout methods, such as block patterns and half drop patterns. Until now, digital textile design textbooks lack content on how to develop patterns. Judging that the current teaching method leads to difficulties in developing a new sense of textile design, this study focused on Heesch-tiling tessellation and software called TESS, a program that can transform patterns themselves. This study is an academic study on the methodology of first developing patterns through TESS, a tessellation program developed for elementary school students in the U.S., and then applying various lines and colors to the complete patterns and textures using Adobe Illustrator. In this study, the concept, formative characteristics, and generative principles of Heesch-tiling tessellation were examined, and the process of developing new patterns using the TESS program, which can be used to create patterns through Heesch-tiling principles, was intended to help in textile design education. Therefore, after analyzing the comprehensive concepts and principles of tessellation, the next step is to understand the principles and the characteristics of pattern making only for Heesch-tiling tessellation, and then ultimately to develop new patterns. While patterns using traditional tessellation layouts have been characterized mainly by repeated geometric shapes, Heesch-tiling tessellation can express surrealistic attributes, such as those by painter M. C. Escher or style elements such as those in neo-pop.
