  • The text ranking algorithm is a representative method for keyword extraction, and its importance is emphasized highly. In this paper, we compare the performance of recent research and experiments with TF-IDF, SMART, INQUERY and CCA algorithms, which are used in text ranking algorithm.. After explaining each algorithm, we compare the performance of each algorithm based on the data collected from news and Twitter. Experimental results show that all of four algorithms can extract specific words from news data equally. However, in the case of Twitter, CCA has the best performance to extract specific words, and INQUERY shows the worst performance. We also analyze the accuracy of the algorithm through six comparison metrics. The experimental results present that CCA shows the best accuracy in the news data. In case of Twitter, TF-IDF and CCA show similar performance and demonstrate good performance.

  • Document summarization aims to generate a summary that is consistent and contains the highly related sentences in a document. In this study, we implemented for document summarization that extracts highly related sentences from a whole document by considering both similarities and entailment relations between sentences. Accordingly, we proposed a new algorithm, TextRank-NLI, which combines a Recurrent Neural Network based Natural Language Inference model and a Graph-based ranking algorithm used in single document extraction-based summarization task. In order to evaluate the performance of the new algorithm, we conducted experiments using the same datasets as used in TextRank algorithm. The results indicated that TextRank-NLI showed 2.3% improvement in performance, as compared to TextRank.

  • The variety of document ranking algorithms have developed to provide efficient mining results for user's query on the web environment. The typical ranking algorithms are the Vector-Space Model based on the text, PsgeRank and HITS algorithms based on the hyperlink structures and other several improvement algorithms. All these are for the user's convenience and preference. However, these algorithms are usually developed on then Horizontal and non-hierarchial web environments and are not suitable for the hierarchial web environments such as enterprise and defense networks. Thus, we must consider the special environment factors in order to improve the ranking algorithms. In this paper, we analyze the several typical algorithms used by hyperlink structures on the web environment. We, then suggest a configuration of the hierarchical web environment and also give the relations between agents of the web mining system. Next, we propose an improved ranking algorithm suitable to this kind of special environments. The proposed algorithm is considered both the hyperlink structures of the documents and the location of the user of the hierarchical web.

  • Tag is important to retrieve and classify contents. However, someone uses so many unrelated tags with contents for the high ranking In this work, we propose tag refinement algorithm using TextRank. We calculate the importance of keywords occurred a title, description, tag, and comments. We refine tags removing unrelated keywords from user generated tags. From the results of experiments, we can see that proposed method is useful for refining tags.

  • We describe a new method for text categorization using TextRank algorithm. Text categorization is a problem that over one pre-defined categories are assigned to a text document. TextRank algorithm is a graph-based ranking algorithm. If we consider that each word is a vertex, and co-occurrence of two adjacent words is a edge, we can get a graph from a document. After that, we find important words using TextRank algorithm from the graph and make feature which are pairs of words which are each important word and a word adjacent to the important word. We use classifiers: SVM, Na$\ddot{i}$ve Bayesian classifier, Maximum Entropy Model, and k-NN classifier. We use non-cross-posted version of 20 Newsgroups data set. In consequence, we had an improved performance in whole classifiers, and the result tells that is a possibility of TextRank algorithm in text categorization.

  • A tourist destination ranking system was designed that employs a semantic search to extract information with reasonable accuracy. To this end the process involves collecting data, preprocessing text reviews of tourist spots, and embedding the corpus and queries with SBERT. We calculate the similarity between data points, filter out those below a specified threshold, and then rank the remaining tourist destinations using a count-based algorithm to align them semantically with the query. To assess the efficacy of the ranking algorithm experiments were conducted with four queries. Furthermore, 58,175 sentences were directly labeled to ascertain their semantic relevance to the third query, 'crowdedness'. Notably, human-labeled data for crowdedness showed similar results. Despite challenges including optimizing thresholds and imbalanced data, this study shows that a semantic search is a powerful method for understanding user intent and recommending tourist destinations with less time and costs.

  • Due to the rapid advancement and distribution of smart devices of late, document data on the Internet is on the sharp increase. The increment of information on the Web including a massive amount of documents makes it increasingly difficult for users to understand corresponding data. In order to efficiently summarize documents in the field of automated summary programs, various researches are under way. This study uses TextRank algorithm to efficiently summarize documents. TextRank algorithm expresses sentences or keywords in the form of a graph and understands the importance of sentences by using its vertices and edges to understand semantic relations between vocabulary and sentence. It extracts high-ranking keywords and based on keywords, it extracts important sentences. To extract important sentences, the algorithm first groups vocabulary. Grouping vocabulary is done using a scale of specific weight. The program sorts out sentences with higher scores on the weight scale, and based on selected sentences, it extracts important sentences to summarize the document. This study proved that this process confirmed an improved performance than summary methods shown in previous researches and that the algorithm can more efficiently summarize documents.

  • Recently, as the requirements for using big data have increased, interest in dataset search technology needed for data analysis is also growing. Although it is necessary to proactively utilize metadata, unlike conventional text search, research on such dataset search systems has not been actively carried out. In this paper, we propose a new dataset-tailored search system that indexes metadata of datasets and performs dataset search based on metadata indices. The ranking given to the dataset search results from a newly devised algorithm that reflects the unique characteristics of the dataset. The system provides the capability to search for additional datasets which correlate with the dataset searched by the user-submitted query so that multiple datasets needed for analysis can be found at once.

  • Purpose The research was studied the hierarchical Hangul emotion index by organizing all the emotions which SNS users are thinking. As a preliminary study by the researcher, the English-based Plutchick (1980)'s emotional standard was reinterpreted in Korean, and a hashtag with implicit meaning on SNS was studied. To build a multidimensional emotion dictionary and classify three-dimensional emotions, an emotion seed was selected for the composition of seven emotion sets, and an emotion word dictionary was constructed by collecting SNS hashtags derived from each emotion seed. We also want to explore the priority of each Hangul emotion index. Design/methodology/approach In the process of transforming the matrix through the vector process of words constituting the sentence, weights were extracted using TF-IDF (Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency), and the dimension reduction technique of the matrix in the emotion set was NMF (Nonnegative Matrix Factorization) algorithm. The emotional dimension was solved by using the characteristic value of the emotional word. The cosine distance algorithm was used to measure the distance between vectors by measuring the similarity of emotion words in the emotion set. Findings Customer needs analysis is a force to read changes in emotions, and Korean emotion word research is the customer's needs. In addition, the ranking of the emotion words within the emotion set will be a special criterion for reading the depth of the emotion. The sentiment index study of this research believes that by providing companies with effective information for emotional marketing, new business opportunities will be expanded and valued. In addition, if the emotion dictionary is eventually connected to the emotional DNA of the product, it will be possible to define the "emotional DNA", which is a set of emotions that the product should have.
