A study on the Erosion Characteristics of Transducer Horn Disc in Sludge Oil Environment (슬러지유 환경에서 진동자 디스크의 침식 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the researches on the prevention of marine oil pollution being strengthened. Sludge oils were unavoidably produced in ship's operations, therefore it is necessary to manage the sludge oils inside the ship itself with the view to prevent marine oil pollution from ship. The present study deals with the ultrasonic breaking systems that recycle the sludge oil from ships into usable oil to be burnt. At the first instanceexperimental studies were carried out to investigate the homogenizing effect of the marine oils and the erosion aspect of horn disc by repeated vibration of ultrasonic transducer. The erosion damages for horn disc SS41 steel with weight loss rate and the irradiation time to max. erosion rate were examined according to the variation of the transducer amplitude, the oil temperature and the immersing depth of horn disc. As the result of it, the erosion aspects of horn disk were varied with oil environments and testing time.

  • Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture(YKAP) possesses the potential to become the first testing ground for the North-East Asian Energy Cooperation in renewable energy sector. We found that production of biodiesel from rapeseed and CHP (Combined Heat and Power Plant) project utilizing abundant forest resources are the two main bioenergy development projects which may have further development potential considering the resource endowments and the focus of Chinese governments' current rural development policy. Provision of stable and transparent investment environments and the development of a close cooperation mechanism between Korea and China government are the prerequisite conditions for investments in the sector. Other international institutional agreements, such as CDM, shall be fully utilized for biomass CHP projects.

  • Reliability growth testing used to evaluate reliability in the automobile industry have not always been able to correctly address reliability concerns with increased confidence. The demand to confirm to all product performance requirements under various operating environments has added to the complexity of accurately assessin theproduct's reliability in the required development time. In addition, it is often desired to determine the relationship of a product's reliability to cost, development time, design, manufacturability and assembly. This paper presents the methods for reliability growth modeling to evaluate and interpret reliability concerns to support the reliability analysis of automobile assemblies and systems. This reliability growth modeling process is a mechanism to help "build in" reliability during early phases in the vehicle devleopment stage.

  • A graphic vehicle modeling pre-processing program and a visualization post-processing program have been developed for AutoDyn7, which is a special program for vehicle dynamics. The Rapid-App for GUI(Graphic User Interface) builder and the Open Inventor for 3D graphic library have been employed to develop these programs in Silicon Graphics workstation. A Graphic User Interface program integrates vehicle modeling pre-processor, AutoDyn7 analysis processor, and visualization post-processor. In vehicle modeling pre-processor, vehicle hard point data for a suspension model are automatically converted into multibody vehicle system data. An interactive graphics capabilities provides suspension modeling aides to verify user input data interactively. In visualization post-processor, vehicle virtual test simulation results are animated with virtual testing environments.

  • Recently, there have been efforts in many countries to reduce social expenses and casualties resulting due to car accidents. As such, ASS (active safety systems) are being researched and developed to prevent accidents and target mitigation. Among many useful active safety systems, it has been reported that commercial AEBS (Advanced Emergency Braking System) effectively prevents accidents and reduces casualties simultaneously. Accordingly, it is necessary to set Korean AEBS standards, and this research analyzes international AEBS standards for this necessity. In addition to the evaluation methodology of AEBS ECE Regulation, this study suggests traffic scenarios that occur frequently in domestic road environments, and provides an evaluation system for AEBS of the scenarios. Finally, the performance and safety of AEBS are evaluated through field test.

  • Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been a basis model for testing technology use. Post researches of TAM have been conducted with the updating the TAM by adding new independent variables in order to increase the explanation power of the model. However, one problem is that different independent variables have to be introduced to keep the explanation power whenever applying to particular technology. This reduces the generality of the research model. Thus in order to increase the generality of the model, this study reviewed the previous researches and collected the independent variables used, and regrouped them into three basic independent constructs. New research model was designed with three basic independent constructs with four constructs selected for the mandatory IT environment and voluntary IT environment, and the structured equations analysis(AMOS) was applied to find the significant causal effect relationships between constructs in addition to the explanation power of the model. Finally, this study concluded that new TAM could be used to explain the users' adopting new technology without any adding new particular independent variables.

  • Change detection, image differencing technique, is the most widely used in a variety of image environments. The digital terrain model and digital images have the same data structure. This study applied digital terrain model and change detection technique for inspecting the deflection of the structure. Authors make digital terrain model from triangular irregular network(TIN) by leveling data and suggest to possibility recognize modification part and volumes by digital terrain model and change detection technique. Authors can reduce testing materials and man power, and displayed his modification part.

  • There are some methods fur extracting mode shapes from a continuously scanned data such as a modulation, Chebyshev polynomial, and Hilbert approach. In this paper, Chebyshev and Hilbert approaches were investigated through the numerical experiment first. As some experimental parameters were altered with small quantities, data were checked and plotted. From those results, the effects of unexpected parameters will be configured. And then, it will be actually helpful to select the proper method for specific testing environments.

  • The concurrent engineering technologies have been broadly used in the field of the design, testing, manufacturing and maintenance works to reduce development time and costs. For this purpose, many design environments with the product data management system, the virtual engineering system and web database system are developed. In this research, we developed the driving simulator of the KTX(Korea Train Express) as a basic study for building the concurrent engineering design environment of rolling stock. The virtual track was developed from the Seoul to the Busan and the Daejeon to Mockpo to generate immersible driving environment. Also. fault generation systems were developed to educate drivers of the KTX. We expect to reduce the time and costs of newly developed rolling stock using the design environment developed in the research.

  • In this paper, to realize the network management function in automated manufacturing network Mini-MAP, the network management requirements are analyzed and the network management system is implemented on the basis of this analysis. The implemented management system which has both local management and remote management mechanism is considered as a single domain on the Mini-MAP network. Here, the remote management functions consist of network status, monitoring and remote operations and the local management functions have parameter display and network self testing. The MAP network controller is designed according to the MAP version 3.0 specifications and IEEE 802 standards. the operations of network management system are certified througth the test environments which consists of the implemented network adaptor and softwares for Mini-MAP.
