Some rank score tests are proposed for testing the equality of all sampling distribution functions against ordered location-scale alternatives in k-sample problem. Under the null hypothesis and a contiguous sequence of ordered location-scale alternatives, the asymptotic properties of the proposed test statistics are investigated. Also, the asymptotic local powers are compared with each others. The results show that the proposed tests based on the Hettmansperger-Norton type statistic are more powerful than others for the general ordered location-scale alternatives. However, the Shiraishi's tests based on the sum of two Bartholomew's rank analogue statistics are robust.

A momentum threshold autoregressive (MTAR) model, a nonlinear autoregressive model, is analyzed in a Bayesian framework. Parameter estimation in the presence of missing data is done by using Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. We also propose simple Bayesian test procedures for asymmetry and unit roots. The proposed method is applied to a set of Korea unemployment rate data and reveals evidence for asymmetry and a unit root.

Almost all buildings/infrastructures made of composite materials are fabricated without proper design. Unlike airplane or automobile parts, prototype test is impossible. One cannot destroy 10 story buildings or 100 meter-long bridges. In order to realize “composites in construction”, the following subjects must be studied in detail, for his design: Concept optimization, Simple method of analysis, Folded plate theory, Size effects in failure, and Critical frequency Unlike the design procedures with conventional materials, his design should include material design, selection of manufacturing method, and quality control methods, in addition to the fabrication method.

A new finite element technology based on p-version of F.E.M. is discussed with reference to its potential for application to stress intensity factor computations. In linear elastic fracture mechanics, especially cracked cylindrical shells. It is shown that the p-version nutlet is far better suited for computing the stress intensity factors than the conventional h-version models with the help of three test problems. The main advantage of this technology is that the accuracy of approximation can be established without mesh refinement or the use of special procedures.

A finite element analysis and experiment study of a motorcycle helmet are presented in this paper. The finite element LS-DYNA3D code is used to analyze the helmet. The test specimen, instruments, and setup procedures are described. Since the displacements and Von-Mises stresses obtained by numerical analysis and experiment agree well, the numerical simulation is proved to be valid.

Microorganisms having beta-latamase inhibitory activity were selected from soil samples collected from 63 spots throughout the country. Screening procedures consist of two steps. Those are growth inhibition test of penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus by double-layered agar plate containing penicillin G as a substrate, and that of penicillin sensitive Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 in the similiar condition including penicillinase. Finally, a strain was selected from a soil sample of Pa-ju, Kyeong-gi Do. This strain was classified as a Streptomyces sp. by ISP(International Streptomycete Project) and Bergey's manual.

The railway shall be verified with the view point of dynamic performances before delivering to the Customer and the verification procedure shall be followed the Customer's demands or relevant international standard, UIC 518 (Testing and approval of railway vehicles from the point of view of their dynamic behavior-Safety-Track fatigue-Ride quality). In this paper, verification procedures in UIC 518 and the test results for domestic project are summarized.

The improvement in the high-class planning, design, and construction characteristics of new model Cruise Liner has been required. To find design philosophy way to improve the total Cruise, we need a world Cruise Fleet which agrees well with design morphology results. This paper describes the creation of world Cruise Fleet from conceptual design to total Cruise model and procedures to confirm the model with embodiment design test result.

In clinical dental research, errors occur in spite of careful study design and conduct. Data cleaning procedures intend to identify and correct these errors or at least to minimize their influence on study. Outlier is the one of these errors. Outlier detection is the first step in data analysis process which has a serious effect in the field of dental research. Hence, this paper aims to introduce the methods to detect the outliers and to examine their influences in statistical data analysis.
