Concern for noise problems of a commercial aircraft in community and cabin is increasing due to the more restrictive regulation and customer requirements. This paper introduces to the work packages of the aircraft noise engineer for the development of a commercial aircraft. First of all, the noise engineer establish the design requirement and objectives(DR&O). Then the design and analysis are performed to satisfy with the DR&O during the conceptual and preliminary design phase. And the test and evaluation(T&E) are carried out to verify the analysis results and to acquire the type certification.

This paper focuses on the development of a new computational model of the CNESTEN's TRIGA Mark II research reactor using the 3D continuous energy Monte-Carlo code TRIPOLI-4 (T4). This new model was developed to assess neutronic simulations and determine quantities of interest such as kinetic parameters of the reactor, control rods worth, power peaking factors and neutron flux distributions. This model is also a key tool used to accurately design new experiments in the TRIGA reactor, to analyze these experiments and to carry out sensitivity and uncertainty studies. The geometry and materials data, as part of the MCNP reference model, were used to build the T4 model. In this regard, the differences between the two models are mainly due to mathematical approaches of both codes. Indeed, the study presented in this article is divided into two parts: the first part deals with the development and the validation of the T4 model. The results obtained with the T4 model were compared to the existing MCNP reference model and to the experimental results from the Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR). Different core configurations were investigated via simulations to test the computational model reliability in predicting the physical parameters of the reactor. As a fairly good agreement among the results was deduced, it seems reasonable to assume that the T4 model can accurately reproduce the MCNP calculated values. The second part of this study is devoted to the sensitivity and uncertainty (S/U) studies that were carried out to quantify the nuclear data uncertainty in the multiplication factor keff. For that purpose, the T4 model was used to calculate the sensitivity profiles of the keff to the nuclear data. The integrated-sensitivities were compared to the results obtained from the previous works that were carried out with MCNP and SCALE-6.2 simulation tools and differences of less than 5% were obtained for most of these quantities except for the C-graphite sensitivities. Moreover, the nuclear data uncertainties in the keff were derived using the COMAC-V2.1 covariance matrices library and the calculated sensitivities. The results have shown that the total nuclear data uncertainty in the keff is around 585 pcm using the COMAC-V2.1. This study also demonstrates that the contribution of zirconium isotopes to the nuclear data uncertainty in the keff is not negligible and should be taken into account when performing S/U analysis.

This paper describes a one of HRD Program focus on ICT technology called TOPCIT as that companies and higher education providers voiced the need for a standardized, objective competency index that can reinforce the on-site competency of college students majoring in ICT/SW. And reduce the gap between the viewpoints of industrial and academic circles regarding the qualifications of a competent specialist in ICT field. For this reason, T.OPCIT developed and evaluated a performance-evaluation-centered test designed to diagnose and assess the competency of ICT specialists and SW developers critically needed to perform jobs on the professional frontier. This TOPCIT concept has been promoted not just in KOREA but in many ASEAN countries, e.g Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines, Mongolia and Cambodia during the ICTD-USO Forum organised by ITU-ASP.

Residual stresses in structural materials are stresses that exist in the objective without the application of any service or other external loads. Manufacturing processes are the most common causes of residual stress. To examine the effect and the distribution of residual stress due to press forming and welding in the production of a 600MPa-class steel tube, a residual stress evaluation test was performed. The measurement used the Hole-Drilling Strain Gauge Method and evaluated the distribution of residual stress, which measured a total of 59 places near the welding line.

In December 2005, one(A) of the two pre-engineered warehouse buildings in the port of K City of Korea was completely destroyed and the other(B) was seriously damaged to be demolished. Over-loaded snow and unexpected blast of wind were the causes of the accident and destructive behavior was brittle fracture caused by web local buckling and lateral torsional buckling at the flange below rafter. However, the architectural design technology of today based on material non-linear method does not consider the tolerances to solve the problem of such brittle fracture. So, geometric non-linear evaluation which includes initial deformation, width-thickness ratio, web stiffener and unbraced length is required. This study evaluates the structural safety of 4 models in terms of width-thickness ratio and unbraced length using ANSYS 9.0 with parameters such as width-thickness ratio of web, existence/non-existence of stiffener and unbraced length. The purpose of this study is to analyze destructive mechanism of the above-mentioned two warehouse buildings and to provide ways to promote the safety of pre-engineered buildings.

Recently construction work in Korea, demands of favorable condition ground had been increased with industrialization acceleration and economic growth. However, because of limited land space, it was so hard to ensure favorable condition grounds that construction work proceeds until soft ground area on plans of road, railroad and industrial complex. In this case, soft ground improvement was required such as a stone column method. Stone column method, making a compaction pile using crushed stone, is a soft ground improvement method. However, stone column method is difficult to apply to the ground which is not mobilized enough lateral confine pressure because no bulging failure resistance. Hence, in present study, evaluates the stone columns reinforced by geogrid for settlement reduction and wide range of application of stone columns. Triaxial compression tests were conducted for evaluation which is about behavior characteristics of stone column on replacement rate. Then, 3-dimensional numerical analysis were conducted for application of stone column reinforced by geogrid as evaluate behavior characteristics and settlement reduction effect of stone column reinforced by geogrid on reinforcing depth change of geogrid.
Background: In pediatric dentistry, fear and anxiety are common among children. Local anesthetics (LA) are widely used to control pain and reduce discomfort in children during dental treatment. Topical anesthetics play a vital role in reducing pain and the unpleasant sensation of a needle puncture in children. Peppermint oil has been extensively used for various diseases. However, its anesthetic properties remain unknown. Peppermint oil, used in mouthwashes, toothpastes, and other topical preparations has analgesic, anesthetic, and antiseptic properties. This study aimed to compare and evaluate pain perception following the topical application of peppermint oil versus lignocaine spray before an intraoral injection in children, aged 8-13 years. Method: Fifty-two children, aged between 8-13 years, who required local anesthesia for dental treatment were divided into two groups of 26 each by simple random sampling (Group 1: 0.2% peppermint oil and Group 2: lignocaine spray). In both groups, physiological measurements (e.g., heart rate) were recorded using pulse oximetry before, during, and after the procedure. Objective pain measurement (Sound Eye Motor (SEM) scale) during administration and subjective measuremeant (Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale (WBFPRS)) after LA administration were recorded. This was followed by the required treatment of the child. Physiological parameters were compared between the two groups using an independent t-test for intergroup assessment and a paired t-test and repeated-measures ANOVA for intragroup comparisons. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the pain scores. Results: Intragroup mean heart rates, before, during, and after treatment were statistically significantly different (P < 0.05). However, the intergroup mean pulse rates did not differ significantly between the two groups. The mean WBFPS score in the lignocaine spray group was 4.133 ± 2.06 was statistically different from that of the peppermint oil group (0.933 ± 1.03; P < 0.001*). The mean SEM score was significantly lower in the peppermint oil group than that in the lignocaine spray group (P = 0.006). No negative effects were observed in this study. Conclusion: 0.2% peppermint oil was effective in reducing pain perception.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate a school adaptation program (SAP) for school-age children with emotional and behavioral problems who attended public elementary schools. Methods: SAP, developed by the authors, addresses school adaptation and academic efficacy and consists of 10 sessions based on five categories (i.e., school life, classroom activity, relationship with friends, relationship with teacher, and school environment). Sixteen children with emotional and behavior problems answered questionnaires before and after participation in the program. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between pre and post-test on school adaptation (t=-2.78, p=.015) and academic efficacy (t=-4.62, p<.001) after the 10 sessions of SAP. Conclusion: The results indicate that SAP can could serve as a practical program for school nurses and teachers. Further studies based on SAP in various school settings are recommended.
The purpose of this study was to find out the general characteristics of school health teachers, the status of school health resources and the degrees of self-confident performance for the 124 school health teachers in Pusan City. Data was collected by means of questionaires from Aug. 1986 to Mar. 1987. The data were analyzed by use of percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson-correlation coefficient. The results of this study were as follows: 1 . General Characteristics of School Health Teachers (SHT) 1) The average of age of the SHT was 32.8 years old and 39.5% of them were from 30 to 34 years old. 2) The average for school nursing experience of the SHT was 7.9 years and 37.9% of them were from 5 to 9 years. 3) The 45.2% of them have not the clinical experience. 4) The 74.2% of them were graduated from the 3 years college of nursing. 2. Status of school health resources and nursing activities. 1) The average of student number was 2497.3 and class number was 45.2. 2) The average of school health budget was 1039000 won and 27.7% of school health budget expended on examination cost. 3) Only 29.0% of all schools have organization for school health. 4) The 84.7% of all schools have health clinic separately and 69.1% of schools have less than $33m^2$ sized. 5) The average of clinic visitor number was 2111.8 for 1 year. 6) Major problem was on digestive system. And other problems were skin, respiratory, musculo-skeletal system and dental problem. 7) The number of literal message was 14.4 times for 1 year. 3. The degree of the school health teachers' self-confidence. The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical nursing competence and self-efficacy of 4th and 2nd semester nursing college students who completed most of the performance-based nursing education curriculum. It was attempted to develop competency evaluation and competency-based curriculum. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $scheff{\bar{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and Stepwise multiple regression in SPSS WIN 24.0 program. The findings of this study were as follows. 1) The knowledge level of essential basic nursing skills received a score of 88.95. The overall average score of clinical performance was 3.15 out of 5. The mean score of self-efficacy was $4.14{\pm}0.57$ points on 6 points 2) Among the general characteristics of subjects, 'motivation of major selection' and 'satisfaction of practice time' differed in the knowledge of essential basic nursing skills, 'religion' and 'health status' differed in clinical performance ability and 'interpersonal relationship', 'motivation of major selection', 'major satisfaction', 'satisfaction of practice time', 'nursing satisfaction', 'desired working period' and 'average rating' differed in self-efficacy. 3) The self-efficacy showed a significant positive correlation with the clinical nursing competency including the knowledge of essential basic nursing skills and clinical performance ability. The nursing satisfaction, clinical performance ability, the knowledge of essential basic nursing skills, interpersonal relationship and average rating influenced significantly and explained 23.7% of the subjects' self-efficacy.
