광양항 컨테이너 터미널 선석 재배치에 따른 기대효과 분석 (Estimating Benefits of Gwangyang Port Container Terminals' Berth Relocation)

  • Container terminals at Gwangyang Port are operated by three container operators: A, B and C. Ultimately, there is consensus that a single operator should operate all terminals so that economies of scale can be achieved even in the operation of the container terminal. Integration between operators has a positive effect on both operators and shipping companies. From the operator's point of view, overlapping fixed costs between operators can be unified, reducing overall costs and utilizing spare facilities. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of the shipping company, it is possible to ensure stable use of the port facilities and always allow berthing, reduce days on demurrage and ship waiting, and provide one-stop service for work. However, existing cases of operators' integration or relocation of terminals remained to estimate the expected effects of alternatives, emphasizing only the financial point of view. The port terminal is a large system, and it is important to consider that it is an aggregate of major logistics facilities and equipment. Moreover, if the estimation can be made by quantifying the expected effect, the justification of the terminals' relocation can be further emphasized. Therefore, it is very important to estimate the expected effect from the viewpoint of systemic operation. Moreover, the need for operators' integration can be further emphasized if it can be estimated through quantification of expected effects. Currently, three alternatives are considered as alternatives to the terminals' relocation, and in this study, the optimal plan was derived for the 3 alternatives by the linear planning model of the minimum shuttle transportation cost in the terminal. The optimal plan is alternative 2, which shows the most advantageous integration effect in terms of expected effects. Alternative 2 integrates the B terminal into the C terminal, and the A terminal operates independently as it is.

Novel DC Grid Connection Topology and Control Strategy for DFIG-based Wind Power Generation System

  • The paper presents a novel DC grid connection topology and control strategy for doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind power generation system. In order to achieve the wind power conversion, the stator side converter and the rotor side converter is used to implement the DFIG control based on the indirect air-gap flux orientation, and a DC/DC converter is used for the DFIG system to DC grid connection. The maximum power point tracking and DC voltage droop control can also be implemented for the proposed DFIG system. Finally, a 4-terminal DFIG-based multi-terminal DC grid system is developed by Matlab to validate the availability of the proposed system and control strategy.

  • This paper describes a wireless point of production(POP) system using Bluetooth that is used as a tool of a new wireless interface. We developed the wireless POP system that is composed of POP terminal and control software. The POP terminal wirelessly collects the shop floor information in real-time. And the control software helps to make appropriate decisions based on the collected information by the POP terminal. The software is developed by using Visual C++ programming language. A case study is implemented to show the performance of the developed system.

A Comparative Study on European Container Terminal Operation System

  • As the competition in the liner shipping industry is becoming fiercer, the shipping company is trying to find the way to keep the best competitive position by reducing the cost level as low as possible and offering the best quality of service to their customer. In order to achieve this goal, the selection of port and terminal that have the best quality of service and cost effective structure is essential for the shipping line, where they can only have a chance to save the money. In this context, the paper compares three European container terminals in order to understand the factors that have to be considered in the decision making process for the selection of terminal. And its advantages and disadvantages of each type of container terminal operation system were analyzed from the liner shipping company's point of view in terms of cost, time, flexibility, stability, hinterland connection, geographical position and terminal productivity. It is obvious that the cost factors are very important for liner shipping company to select their terminal. However, there might be even more important factors than the cost factors, such as quality of port and terminal service, mutual trust, and possibility of future development.

  • 본 논문에서는 무선랜 환경에서 억세스 터미널(AT : Access Terminal)이 효과적으로 억세스 포인트(AP: Access Point)를 선택하기 위하여 로드발랜싱을 적용한 연결 설정 알고리듬을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 AP들과 AT의 연결 설정시 연결설정의뢰정보(AI: Association Information)로 도착 시간을 측정하고 AP의 부하 상태를 파악한 후 로드발랜싱을 적용한다. AT에서는 AP에 연결된 단말들의 트래픽량을 측정하여 부하가 적은 AP를 선택하여 설정하면 다수의 사용자가 동시에 사용하는 핫스팟 환경에서도 AP의 과도한 부하를 막을 수 있어 사용자 측면에서는 최대성능을 얻을 수 있으며, 망 사업자 측면에서는 효율적인 망 관리를 할 수 있다.

Purification and Characterization of Cop, a Protein Involved in the Copy Number Control of Plasmid pE194

  • Cop protein has been overexpressed in Escherichia coli using a T7 RNA polymerase system. Purification to apparent homogeneity was achieved by the sequential chromatography on ion exchange, affinity chromatography, and reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography system. The molecular weight of the purified Cop was estimated as 6.1 kDa by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). But the molecular mass of the native state Cop was shown to be 19 kDa by an analytical high performance size exclusion chromatography, suggesting a trimer-like structure in 50 mM Tris-HCI buffer (pH 7.5) containing 100 mM NaCl. Cop protein Was calculated to contain $39.1% {\alpha}-helix, 16.8% {\beta}-sheet$, 17.4% turn, and 26.8% random structure. The DNA binding property of Cop protein expressed in E. coli Was preserved during the expression and purification process. The isoelectric point of Cop was determined to be 9.0. The results of amino acid composition analysis and N-terminal amino acid sequencing of Cop showed that it has the same amino acid composition and N-terminal amino acid sequence as those deduced from its DNA sequence analysis, except for the partial removal of N-terminal methionine residue by methionyl-aminopeptidase in E. coli.

Davidenko법에 의한 시간최적 제어문제의 수치해석해 (The Numerical Solution of Time-Optimal Control Problems by Davidenoko's Method)

  • A general procedure for the numerical solution of coupled, nonlinear, differential two-point boundary-value problems, solutions of which are crucial to the controller design, has been developed and demonstrated. A fixed-end-points, free-terminal-time, optimal-control problem, which is derived from Pontryagin's Maximum Principle, is solved by an extension of Davidenko's method, a differential form of Newton's method, for algebraic root finding. By a discretization process like finite differences, the differential equations are converted to a nonlinear algebraic system. Davidenko's method reconverts this into a pseudo-time-dependent set of implicitly coupled ODEs suitable for solution by modern, high-performance solvers. Another important advantage of Davidenko's method related to the time-optimal problem is that the terminal time can be computed by treating this unkown as an additional variable and sup- plying the Hamiltonian at the terminal time as an additional equation. Davidenko's method uas used to produce optimal trajectories of a single-degree-of-freedom problem. This numerical method provides switching times for open-loop control, minimized terminal time and optimal input torque sequences. This numerical technique could easily be adapted to the multi-point boundary-value problems.

  • This paper proposes a common platform for an internet-based mobile robot and its operator terminal. The common platform can reduce the cost and time to develop an internet-based robot and its operator terminal. The robot performs the role of a server and its terminal a client. One operator can use this terminal to make a command and this command can be sent to the robot through a wireless network. According to given commands, the robot moves a point and sends an image by using a camera or desired information by using other sensors. The information sent from the robot can help an operator to control the robot. The mobile robot consists of two modules, main module and motion module. Main module can exchange information with the operator terminal, process information, and send a command to motion module. Each application program for one internet-based mobile robot and its operator terminal will be developed to show that the same platform can be used for them. Also, it will be shown that the robot can be controlled easily by using its operator terminal.

  • The major movement block of the containers is range between apron and designation points on yard in container terminal. The yard tractor operated by human takes charge of it's movement in conventional container terminal. In unmanned container terminal, UCT(unmanned container transporter) has charge of the yard tractor's role and the navigation path is ordered from upper level control system. The unmanned container terminal facilities must have docking system that guided landing line to have high speed travelling and precision positioning in unmanned container terminal. The general method for docking uses the vision system with CCD camera, infra red, and laser. This paper describes the investigation for the developed docking method in view point of merit and demerit and introduces 속 result of developing the docking system with LSB(laser slit beam).

TERMINAL SPACES OF MONOIDS

  • The purpose of this note is a wide generalization of the topological results of various classes of ideals of rings, semirings, and modules, endowed with Zariski topologies, to r-strongly irreducible r-ideals (endowed with Zariski topologies) of monoids, called terminal spaces. We show that terminal spaces are T0, quasi-compact, and every nonempty irreducible closed subset has a unique generic point. We characterize rarithmetic monoids in terms of terminal spaces. Finally, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the subspaces of r-maximal r-ideals and r-prime r-ideals to be dense in the corresponding terminal spaces.
